    Lidia is going to visit her Mom in December and her Mom and Sister are going to go to Matagalpa with her for a few days. I’m very curious to see what she thinks, especially if she thinks it is cool enough for us. Exciting stuff !!!
    Great video, Scott ! We love seeing rentals and houses for sale.

      That should be fun. December in Matagalpa will be very fresh for sure.

      What city are you looking in? We have so many options anywhere that we look. I'm only showing ones we aren't considering. We're looking at many more.

    Hey Scott, I didn’t realize you’re doing your live blog right now. I just got off work and I noticed I had this notification for this video pop up on TH-cam. Anyway, these houses were back back from 2022 do you think you can give me an idea of a high estimate of how much these houses would go for? I’d really appreciate it. Thanks. Hopping over to the live stream now.

    What types of mixed drinks are available in Nicaragua? Clearly a Nica Libre, Margarita, etc... but if someone wants something like a Hurricane, Mimosa, etc...

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mimosas are widely available. Most cocktails are not. There is a significant lack of mixers, and a lack of cocktail culture. So things made with rum and fruit you are set. Gin is available. Vodka. But whiskeys are hard to come by and most of the additional elements used in many cocktails are rare or impossible to find. Amazingly Aperol and Campari exist, but not a lot else. It's hard. So an old fashioned is very hard, as is a side car. But negroni can be found or an Aperol Spritz.

    Do you know the contact info on this house? Would this possibly available now or in the future you think?

      The yellow house with the big pool? I believe that it is rented, but I can certainly find out.

    Costs for these places? Did i miss seeing the prices?

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well I normally just know the asking price, not the real price. Asking is often WAY over real. But if you follow them on Central American Living, I list the prices that I know over there. The yellow house will take $700/mo. The weird really long house in San Felipe is ASKING $1,000, but will never get that, that's way too high. I think $800 is reasonable but even that might be really high.

    Just watched a video where a guy is trying to scare people away saying if you get residency they will take your us passport

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL, how the heck would that even work? Your passport is required for everything. You need it all the time. That's not even plausible. I tell you, the crap people trying to say to scare people away from Nicaragua. There's nothing legitimate to say so they just make up the most unreasonable stuff.
      You should (no you shouldn't, don't actually go there) see the Reddit feeds on Nicaragua. It's just endless streams of obviously paid posters posting all the same stuff to try to discredit the country that is all obviously fake both because logical says it has to be, and any time spent in country makes it observably untrue. but they just post and post and the language patterns make it pretty clear that they are all being coached on what to post by the same groups.

      This is the largest pool in a private house that we know of in the city. Very unique property. Nothing for $150 will come close, even in Leon. I've been all over the city, this isn't a super fancy house, but there's nothing comparable to it and people fight over it.

    Leon
    So similar to Granada.
    Of course Granada is the best.

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know. I used to live in Granada. I almost couldn't convince my wife to move back to Nicaragua because we had only lived in Granada and the tourist zone ruined it for her. But Leon is totally different. Granada is actually my least favourite city in the country. Not that it's bad, but if I was to rank them by where I'd want to live, for me, it's definitely last on the list. High cost, and lots of the "tourist zone problems". If you live far enough out to get away from those issues, then it loses all of the services. Not that Leon is my top pick, it's not. For a city, I'd choose Matagalpa first.
