Great insights again! If I had to start all over again I think I’d still do the slow and steady approach to building mine. Hopefully with fewer mistakes this time!

Cool thing about the home grown bumpers is I think they are going to start making thinner ones by adding lead shot to the molds making them thinner and bounce less so that could really be a budget game changer if they price stays the same

If I start from the beginning I'll do a half Rep half rack attached to the wall with the Athena, another half rack to the wall with the VTS lite, bells of steel bench with attachment some Homegrown lifting plates, a Rogue Ohio power bar and Powerblock dumbbells up to 90 lbs.

Jake’s setup is good for use today. Adam’s is more future-proof.
I’d prefer Adam’s setup but I need to get plates

I like the idea of doing this again with the 5k budget, and I think it's possible. But I think it's more important to be able to judge whether those trade-offs are truly worth it, even though the quality of something is usually 'fine' sometimes you just lose too much quality/functionality, but that's up to personally preference I suppose anyway.

    $5,000 Ares 2.0 + 6 post rack + a couple attachments
    $300 boneyard Ohio power bar
$300 500lbs of used plates off marketplace
$1,000 rep ssb, open trap bar, rackable curl bar
    $500 kadillac bar
    $400 rep ab 4100
$1200 freak athlete hyper pro + ghd + leg extension
    $1,400 125lb reppins
$300 storage (vertical bar storage, shelves)
    $300 mats
    $850 rogue echo bike
    $50 rogue collars
I think it's slightly over $10,000 but close enough

      If I only had $5,000
I would downgrade the rep rack to a fringesport Dane rack for $2,250 and also downgrade reppins to powerblock, and downgrade specialty bars to only an ssb and open trap bar. Keep the rest the same

Jake’s build was maybe more practical, but Adam’s build hit a lot of “dream setup” feelings. Both were impressive in terms of what you can fit in 200 sq ft!

I really like the idea of a barebones half rack with another more all-in-one system / functional training rack. I love my Ares, but these all-in racks get so crowded.

I have the Homegrown lifting plates and am pretty happy with them, I'm not going to run out of space in the bar.

Any advice for a stand for the rep-peppin DB. Rep seems to be slow on getting one.

I would just try to be patient for a stand, which they are working on, unless you want to DIY something.

I like the content, but the tone kind of reminds me of like....CSPAN.
