I have a Ulefone Armor 7, had it for 3 years or so. The things that annoy me about it are the quality of mobile calls, the volume of the speaker and the fact it turns on in my pocket at the drop of a hat and then decides to turn itself off as well. I could really do with mobile reviews that tell us how good they are as phones, does the volume go up enough, are the buttons "clicky" enough to not press in your pocket, can it pick up a signal in a poor signal area? You know stuff that a mobile phone is used for.
Volume of speaker and turning in your pocket can be tested but quality of calls is more debatable because it depends on the network provider as well. You definitely need a few other phones and repeated testing to make sure of call quality. Most don't bother though because in general tech has reach a point that call quality is never much of an issue.
do you ever have the issue where you hit the wake button and the phone just doesn't light up? my phone has had a black screen for 4 hours now for no reason, hit wake button. nothing. BUT the blue notification light is blinking so its on and working...just won't give me a display.
Thank you for the review sir. It's very hard determining which phone to get next. I've been Note from the original and still have the 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10 (10 daily driver phone). Actually, I use the 9 in Dex mode hooked up to my tv for everyday use. Anywho, the Armor has the endo and thermal which would be extremely helpful as a wildlife control agent. Alas though, Samsung has it with the stylus which I find very helpful when recording measurements on jobs, making notes, and video/photo editing. And of course the cameras have always been spot on. So much so, I've had people ask to purchase prints of some of the snaps I've taken. Ugh, I need the Ule with a stylus and better camera setup.
Thank you for doing the first real review of the phone that I could find. I bought the armor 9 on sale a few years ago on a whim. I actually really liked it. The only complaints I had was the ui wasnt the greatest and it was missing a few modern features. I broke the charging board (kinda my fault dropped it while charging and it landed upright in the charging cable). Since I had to wait a month for the board I decided to buy their ultra cheap x11. It's clearly built on a budget but I figured it gives me a way to see if their software improved in these past few years before I buy the 18t. Sadly it's much worse on the x11. Some of it is clearly because of the cheap hardware, but the software they use to optimize performance is buggy as hell. Out of all my apps only two widgets worked with the phone. Also one minor thing that really grinds my gears is I couldn't figure out how to get Spotify controls on the lock screen. I've tried everything I could think of. I hope the 18t is better in that regard because I still haven't found a better competitor yet and will probably still buy it eventually.
How does the Ulefone 18T compare with the other top rugged phone? I am after a rugged phone, but still undecided for which to go...to date I am leaning towards the Ulefone 18T. I am asking you because your review is the most honest I found on the Ulephone.
I have now watched such a large number of video tests for this phone that I now think I know it better than whoever designed it... However, I must say that in my opinion your review is the most objective and best done of all. Really. Basically, your video is what finally convinced me to get this phone (it arrives tomorrow!), well aware of its strengths and weaknesses. Thanks, and please keep it up. (In the meantime I have subscribed to the channel!) What I don't understand, however, is why no one spends even ten seconds evaluating the speakerphone. Is it so horrible that it's better not to even think about it?? :)
I have a galaxy fold 3 I stopped using once I got this 18T...love this phone! Perfection would be better camera software. I think the great 108MP camera is being underutilized
@@ZigZag9639 I've had no issues with phone call quality. I've not tested scientifically between phones but no one has complained and it's been a similar experience for me with my Samsung phones
Thank you so much for this video, but I need to ask...what's the quality like when it comes to making and taking phone calls and using video phone calls?
I've been having sleepless nights over this phone watching videos of thermal vision really got hyped up. At home been making DIY IR lights & removing IR filter from action camera to see in the dark, powerbank upgrades, etc, still thermal camera is a gamechanger to wildlife capturing. Maybe I'll finally be able to see some foxes that "wou wou" in the forest 🙆🏻

I have the Ulefone Armor9, and after six months the GPS reception went really laggy, after a year mobile reception decreased noticeably, around two years mark the Wi-Fi started dropping out entirely on top of already poor signal all the time. Three years on and the touchscreen is non responsive about 50 times a day and requires screen lock/unlock to start working again. That's after three years of use in an office environment. This is a rugged phone.. seriously? Hardware issues are understandable, but Ulefone's service centre dismissal of any claims of problems of this sort existing on a wider scale, advice to have the phone reset to factory settings each time and generally really poor and unhelpful attitude is not the after sales support a global company should be delivering. Overall really poor product and bitter customer experience with Ulefone.
There are lots of other Ulefone models that have similar features but for much cheaper. If you don't need a FLIR camera, you can get them for closer to $500 or less

@@fs5866 yeah, but the thermal sensor is the same for both, 160x120 pixels, FLIR Lepton 3.5 . 18T would be better because it has 32MPixel camera, while 19T only 16MPixel camera.
