Lake Kyle Safari at Mabula Game Lodge is one of the most thrilling experiences that anyone can have. The beauty of the sunrise is always a sight to behold, and the opportunity to see free-roaming lions in their natural habitat is simply priceless.
We woke up at 4 am to get ready for the safari then started for the main Game Lodge at 5am. We arrived at the game lodge and paid for the safari eager to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
As we made our way through the park, the sun began to rise, painting the sky with vibrant shades of orange and pink. The early morning light cast a serene ambiance over the bush, and we felt a sense of excitement at the prospect of encountering the lions.
As we drove through the park, we marveled at the stunning scenery and the variety of wildlife that we saw along the way.
Our destination was the lake, where we had previously seen four lions on a morning walk, two lionesses and two lions, which had mated. This time, we were hoping to see something similar. However, as we all know, every day is a new day, and you can never predict what you will see.
After searching for lions for quite some time, we came across the ruins of a house in the middle of the jungle. It was an eerie sight, and we wondered what stories the ruins held. But our curiosity soon gave way to excitement when our ranger received a call from another safari vehicle that they had spotted lions.
We immediately made our way towards the location, driving deep inside , we spotted a mighty lion sitting on the road, under the shade of a tree. The sight was breathtaking, and we all held our breath in awe.
The lion was a magnificent creature, with a thick mane and powerful muscles. It sat there, watching us with a calm intensity that was both terrifying and fascinating at the same time. We were all struck by the sheer power and beauty of the animal.
As we watched the lion, we couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the marvels of nature. The experience was both humbling and exhilarating, and we were grateful for the opportunity to witness such a magnificent creature in its natural habitat.

A young male weighed 238kg there.
We were there in Jan for a week. It was the second time we went to Mabula Game Lodge.
Do they allow toddlers on game drives for sighting lions?
No they ( Mabula game reserve ) don’t allow toddlers on lions sighting game drive . If you had seen this vlog our son was not in this game drive , but he was with us in Kruger national park during the self drives & saw 32 lions .
