    Awesome video, you covered everything. I like 2.7k and 60 fps. File size is still manageable, you can crop in a bit, and you can still slow down 50%. That slow motion is so important when fish are swimming by fast. Good video

      Thanks Joe! Yeah one can definitely argue different settings for different purposes so I guess the trick is to be really aware what does what and when to use it. Thank you for your kind words!

    Great video and thanks for the information. Probably I do not well understood but the white balance setting has not been well explained (I am Italian). Some people said that it is better to use native setting (raw) in order to have much more color control during the post editing.
    I use the following Gopro Hero6 Protune setting:
    2.7K
    60fps
    FOV wide (or linear as you said)
    EV -0.5 (or 0 is better?)
    ISO min 100
    ISO max 800
    WB Auto (or RAW is better?)
    Sharpness Medium
    Color Flat
    Audio off
    What do you think about that?

    • @DiveSAGA
      @DiveSAGA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't go into the white balance settings indeed. Manual is always best but I don't think the GoPro offers that, so RAW would indeed be the next best thing for control afterwards!

    This is great. Thanks to your series of stories on IG the other day, I finally decided on my very first underwater camera (long overdue!). I had been delaying because I like the idea of using my DSLR with a housing, but those housings are SO expensive and I'm just getting started so I didn't want to wait that long. I was against the GoPro idea because I didn't realize the quality could be so high. After seeing you demonstrate that the GoPro can make some amazing images/videos and doing a bit more research, I went with the Hero 8 Black and now I'm spending this quarantine getting to know it and researching a good and simple setup to get me started (like you're talking about here). Thank you so much!

    The deeper you go, the more red color you will lose. That's why there are filters you can put in front of your lens. Tried it with many dives and even at 25 meters you still get a clear view with colors like you saw with your own eyes. The filters are purchaseble on Amazon

    • @DiveSAGA
      @DiveSAGA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jesse! I know :) I just prefer to stay shallow or use a light because with filters you always lose a bit of light. A good filter is a very useful tool though, you are right!

    Acclimatise your GoPro? HaaaHaha, what stupid advice, the GoPro will still fog up with condensation in the case, GO ON EBAY AND BUY ANTI FOG INSERTS FOR AS LITTLE AS $2 PER 12 PACK, these inserts soak up any moisture between the case and camera, I recommend 2, one in the top of case and one in the bottom of case, guaranteed no more condensation.
