At that weight, with those speeds I do believe that your head would experience slight burns. The shoulder one the other hand would be non existent and if your missing a shoulder, you are also missing a whole arm.

A decent sniper could hit that shot with most of the viable rifles, but the ZRG is also broken. I was already telling my group that it's going to be miserable to play until this gets a nerf - specifically because of what felt like one shot kills to almost anywhere on the upper body, and high fire rate with no recoil. TGD confirmed - this is the sniper rifle for people who don't have the skill to use sniper rifles effectively.
This gun makes zero sense in this game. It was bad enough with 50cal having the same damage numbers as a 308. Now we have a crew serve weapon, that you can hip fire??? And shoot while standing?

when you were testing the weapon, were you using a store bought blueprint? is it possible the weird hitbox situation could be the result of some sort of "pay to win" coding like the mac10 went through?
Maybe the head hit box thing is because the bullet is actually coded as being 2cm big. So where a normal 5.56 round may miss. Then maybe the 2cm round is wider and hits the head??
I was thinking the same thing. I actually started thing that maybe, the bullet is so large that it is capable of hitting two boxes at the same which time and then the code does proportional damage. For exemple: 50% of the bullet hits the head hitbox (250dmg) and the other 50% hits de chest (120dmg) with that in account, the resulting damage would be 185 damage to the player. Maybe I'm giving Raven too much credit but that would explain the inconsistencies.

the idle sway probably is less on the zrg because the zrg weighs like 5000 pounds haha. by having that weight it is generally slower, also the idle sway

Was anticipating this video quite a bit after JGod and Xclusive Ace's videos on the ZRG. Despite their thoughts on the gun, there just seemed to be one thing missing from their analysis that didn't quite line up with my own personal experience using the gun, which was the bullet drop. When I fired it in the 200-300 metre range I was getting mid-air snipes in plunder that I normally wouldn't get using other snipers and I'm not a great sniper by any means.
Larger diameter on its own doesn't necessarily mean a bullet will slow down more quickly. Ballistic coefficient and sectional density are key factors. A larger bullet can still have great sectional density and thus retain more velocity than a smaller bullet. It really just depends on the specific bullet.

Btw in the gunsmith or what ever it’s called, it say that the ZRG is a one shot kill on head, chest and shoulders. So that’s why you may experience more “headshots”.
Love your videos man keep up the good work! Just wanted to point something out about your physics. In real life long range shooting, bullets drag through the air is measured in ballistic coefficient. Generally the larger the caliber the higher the ballistic coefficient, or how slippery the bullet flys through the air, leading to less drop and higher maintained speeds throughout its course of travel. If the 20mm bullet was designed properly even though it had a greater cross sectional area it would have far less drop than any smaller caliber. I saw you mention this before on the SPR video saying the 338 rounds should drop more where again in real life they drop less than the 300 rounds due to their better ballistic coefficient. If your ever curious more on real life ballistics let me know!
So bigger the bullet the less it drops because of its mass correct? Bigger bullets are able to keep keep their "cut through air" energy longer? I think what I said makes sense.

For example a very pointy bullet with a properly shaped bowtail would drop less and maintain its velocity better vs the same caliber bullet with the same mass but shaped like a soda can because it can't cut through the air. It really has everything to do with its ballistic coefficient (drag through the air).

About the head hitbox thing, I can definitely confirm. Hitting neck/shoulders occasionally counts as a headshot (on still targets, i dont count moving ones as there mightve been lag n whatnot). Perhaps it's because it's a 20mm? Nice little detail i suppose. Also the LW3 desperately needs a stability buff.
Both are really really good informations. There are some mistakes one or other make. But overall they are goat. Also, jgod tested with 1000 meters, that's why there's such a difference
Some earlier stats discouraged me from spending any more time leveling it up even though there was something thing I liked about it...I’m happy you pointed out these benefits that I subconsciously felt but couldn’t put my finger on. Back to plunder I go! :p
You don’t want me in your lobby trust me 😅 - I take it too personally and run lock-on rockets and mines that I like to set under other heli spawns in the area I’m working in or throw them like a frisbee from my chopper while seat switching to unattended helicopters as they get the contract they just beat me to and just shoot anyone out of the sky if anyone comes in my air space with my lock-on 🙃 Only way to get a consistent high amount of contracts completed solo
So i did my own testing, at 120mts, the HDR got any bullet drop, the ZRG did have a bit, did the same test but with my AX 50 and SPR with norma rounds, and the ZRG did better than those two, having a little less bullet drop than the SPR. So in the end, The ZRG despite having more bullet drop than the HDR, is slightly better than the SPR as a long to middle range sniper. I will be testing bullet speed soon
Very different take than JGOD. I was amazed at how JGOD said it had poor bullet velocity because it felt so much better than that. This makes more sense!
About the headshot hitbox; I think it's so large because based on the description of the gun it's a 1 shot kill to the head, chest and shoulders. Of course this is just a guess but it does say so in the description.
Yeah but if you hit them in the chest/shoulders then it wouldn't give you the headshot notification when you kill them, which it does nearly all of the time

Imagine if Raven put the 14x115mm in the ZRG (yes, the ZRG 20mm is based on the Denel NTW 20 which uses 20mm and the Soviet 14x115mm cartridge) it would be crazy, already with the 20mm it has an incredible bullet speed, I can 'imagine with the 14x115mm, great video TGD.
I've heard so many mixed reviews, JGOD thinks it's meh, IcemanIsaac and XclusiveAce don't like it, Stod wants to like it, Testy and Metaphor like it a lot and TGD loves it. I'm also seeing a lot of different numbers for bullet velocity so I'm having a hard time knowing what to think. Basically I want a high bullet velocity gun with great damage but costs to fire rate and mobility (like in Cold War). If the Kar can one shot someone with 1 plate with a chest shot, the ZRG should have 200 damage to the chest and be able to one shot someone with 2 plates.
IMO, TGD is the most reliable of all the stat guys. He has the most robust testing. TGD was the only person who explained the bullet velocity properly.
Imo this sniper according to stats feels like the spr and the hdr were combined and this was born.cant say for sure cause i havent unlocked it and im sticking with my ax50/kar/hdr
I was using the vulture custom zoom scope on the ZRG yesterday and it looks like they have added scope glint to it. I saw my glint on a couple kill cams and people were spotting me very quickly from hundreds of meters out.
in cold war while i was getting diamond for it doing the longshot challenges i noticed that the idle sway is worse with the best stabilizer than a tundra with no muzzle attachment laying down, squatting, and standing up. its weird that its completely opposite in warzone
6:40 last week I was observing the same with SPR norma rounds, where one hit at close range did around 230 damage which is impossible according to the damage model. I shot a guy first time noscope then he killed me it showed the blue broken armor marker, and in the kill cam it showed that I took 3 of his plates and around 2/3 of his HP. This then happened to me several more times with SPR in longer ranges but within 150 meters while aiming at head.

Went out and used all the cold war snipers and the spr and the ZRG feels way more consistent and you can definitely land some better shots with it compared to the others, just noticed I run the same setup also lol
Could you also test if it has above average bullet penetration? I've gotten hit markers through concrete barriers and some non driveable vehicles and that dosnt seem normal compared to the other snipers.
idk, not really convinced why it's better than spr which we have already seen is better than hdr unless as you said there is some head shot hit box bonus to this gun
I actually don't know what to think of it right now. TGD and JGOD have completely different stats and I'm still trying to level it up. But I can agree that they need to buff the damage. I wouldn't mind a nerf to ads or movement speed if that meant I would get more damage. Also I agree there's something wrong with the head hitbox, bc I was hitting some of my nastiest snipes yesterday. And I'm the noobiest player i know
I think the difference in measured BV values comes down to the refresh rate differences; XA and JGOD play at 60 Hz while TGD plays at 240 Hz so chances are he's getting more precise results closer to the actual value, assuming his testing conditions make sense.

Loving the videos and work you're doing, just curious why your comparing ads time with the HDR and SPR when I feel like WAY more people run the Kar98. So why not compare the ads on that for "meta" context?
The reason for getting headshots easier on this weapon is on the bullet size not the head hit box, i use the explosive rytec a lot and im sure they have the same effect bigger bullet easier headshot
While i really do trust the stats you put out, im wondering how both xclusive ace and jgod both got similar bullet velocities of 1100 m/s. Also, could you do bullet drop tests at 200 ish meters? I think that would be really useful, both to demonstrate your theory about the zrg bullet drop, and to see the other guns relative to each other at more reasonable ranges.

Honestly for a 20mm round damage should be instant kill, give it slower ADS and reduce the fire rate to 30 bullets per minute but give it a 300 damage. Also for an anti-material sniper it doesn't disable vehicles as it should with a couple of shots.
Actually, a massive projectile shot at the same velocity as a smaller projectile will conserver more of its energy and thus will not drop faster or slow of quicker. Test it with an airsoftrifle and a pelletgun, about the same bullet velocity but the pellet has more energy and will go faster further.
SO I levelled up this and found it decent BUT no steady aim on Hangman site or many others it seems which is ridiculous.... I prefer abit more zoom than the stock scope which is good I know this but it smy personal preference, Could you look into which scopes you can actually hold your breath on.
Hey did anyone actually tweet Activision or Raven telling them breath holding is not working with most scopes on this gun. Still a great gun though but this should work...
if the crosshair always recenters, does the bipod make it recenter faster? I know it helps with visual recoil after the shot.. Also when you are ADS which stock is the best for side to side strafe speed? Combat stock feels faster then the Raider stock but I could be wrong.

Indeed, even shorter ranges that are supposed to be hitscans somehow I miss them multiple times, every time with the crosshair on the enemy.

Some earlier stats discouraged me from spending any more time leveling it up even though there was something thing I liked about it...I’m happy you pointed out these benefits that I subconsciously felt but couldn’t put my finger on. Back to plunder I go! :p

You don’t want me in your lobby trust me 😅 - I take it too personally and run lock-on rockets and mines that I like to set under other heli spawns in the area I’m working in or throw them like a frisbee from my chopper while seat switching to unattended helicopters as they get the contract they just beat me to and just shoot anyone out of the sky if anyone comes in my air space with my lock-on 🙃

I’m 99% certain there is an upper back multiplier because I noticed something similar with getting one shot kills with the LW3 Tundra
So i did my own testing, at 120mts, the HDR got any bullet drop, the ZRG did have a bit, did the same test but with my AX 50 and SPR with norma rounds, and the ZRG did better than those two, having a little less bullet drop than the SPR. So in the end, The ZRG despite having more bullet drop than the HDR, is slightly better than the SPR as a long to middle range sniper. I will be testing bullet speed soon
Very different take than JGOD. I was amazed at how JGOD said it had poor bullet velocity because it felt so much better than that. This makes more sense!

About the headshot hitbox; I think it's so large because based on the description of the gun it's a 1 shot kill to the head, chest and shoulders. Of course this is just a guess but it does say so in the description.
Yeah but if you hit them in the chest/shoulders then it wouldn't give you the headshot notification when you kill them, which it does nearly all of the time
Only you would be smart enough to notice and compare that type for specific gun behaviors and I'm constantly impressed with the quality and usefulness of the content you put out. I'm incredibly passionate about this game and was lost for so long trying to figure out how to make my guns perform as well as people killing me or streamers and would have never gotten to the skill level I am without you, your channel, your streams, and your website. Why not use the 10x or the 20x scope to get that extra zoom? I quite like using those
Imagine if Raven put the 14x115mm in the ZRG (yes, the ZRG 20mm is based on the Denel NTW 20 which uses 20mm and the Soviet 14x115mm cartridge) it would be crazy, already with the 20mm it has an incredible bullet speed, I can 'imagine with the 14x115mm, great video TGD.
I've heard so many mixed reviews, JGOD thinks it's meh, IcemanIsaac and XclusiveAce don't like it, Stod wants to like it, Testy and Metaphor like it a lot and TGD loves it. I'm also seeing a lot of different numbers for bullet velocity so I'm having a hard time knowing what to think.
Basically I want a high bullet velocity gun with great damage but costs to fire rate and mobility (like in Cold War). If the Kar can one shot someone with 1 plate with a chest shot, the ZRG should have 200 damage to the chest and be able to one shot someone with 2 plates.
IMO, TGD is the most reliable of all the stat guys. He has the most robust testing. TGD was the only person who explained the bullet velocity properly.

Imo this sniper according to stats feels like the spr and the hdr were combined and this was born.cant say for sure cause i havent unlocked it and im sticking with my ax50/kar/hdr

I was using the vulture custom zoom scope on the ZRG yesterday and it looks like they have added scope glint to it. I saw my glint on a couple kill cams and people were spotting me very quickly from hundreds of meters out.

in cold war while i was getting diamond for it doing the longshot challenges i noticed that the idle sway is worse with the best stabilizer than a tundra with no muzzle attachment laying down, squatting, and standing up. its weird that its completely opposite in warzone
6:40 last week I was observing the same with SPR norma rounds, where one hit at close range did around 230 damage which is impossible according to the damage model. I shot a guy first time noscope then he killed me it showed the blue broken armor marker, and in the kill cam it showed that I took 3 of his plates and around 2/3 of his HP. This then happened to me several more times with SPR in longer ranges but within 150 meters while aiming at head.
Idk about this one truegamedata. You should check bullet drop differences. You really think a 20mm should be a 3 shot kill?
It only does.enough damage to 2 shot kill to the chest, and that is only within the first damage range...
They fixed the 3x and 4x for holding breath

In CW its amazing..wallbangin, 1Bullet 1 dead, also tried it out in Plunder ( zrg lvl 3) and the damage is really inconsistent around upperchest/shoulder (range around 200-300m)..thank you very much for this information!
Im curious, when you Check Out the Typ63 data, tried to compare it with the DMR14 data, Not checked yet! I think the Typ63 could be a substitute for the DMR14..just maybeee! coz its quite good in Plunder (typ63 lvl 30)

Went out and used all the cold war snipers and the spr and the ZRG feels way more consistent and you can definitely land some better shots with it compared to the others, just noticed I run the same setup also lol

Could you also test if it has above average bullet penetration? I've gotten hit markers through concrete barriers and some non driveable vehicles and that dosnt seem normal compared to the other snipers.
the description says it's a one shot kill to the shoulders. so maybe there is more hitbox zones than just extremities, that'd be worth investigating.
idk, not really convinced why it's better than spr which we have already seen is better than hdr unless as you said there is some head shot hit box bonus to this gun
The SPR and the Kar98K on that matter have a 2 shot chest potential which makes them the greatest among the snipers
Would you use the sound suppressor for wicker ADS as the bullet velocity is still good or still wrapped for maximum velocity
I actually don't know what to think of it right now. TGD and JGOD have completely different stats and I'm still trying to level it up. But I can agree that they need to buff the damage. I wouldn't mind a nerf to ads or movement speed if that meant I would get more damage.
Also I agree there's something wrong with the head hitbox, bc I was hitting some of my nastiest snipes yesterday. And I'm the noobiest player i know
I think the difference in measured BV values comes down to the refresh rate differences; XA and JGOD play at 60 Hz while TGD plays at 240 Hz so chances are he's getting more precise results closer to the actual value, assuming his testing conditions make sense.
@@avocadoc1292 also I found this glitch where I shot a guy dead center in the chest and it still counted it as a headshot . It only happened once though.

you cant hold your breath with the hangman scope as well. vulture and the 20x zoom might have the same problem

Loving the videos and work you're doing, just curious why your comparing ads time with the HDR and SPR when I feel like WAY more people run the Kar98. So why not compare the ads on that for "meta" context?
The 20x scope had glint lastnight in plunder as I was killed by someone with it
The reason for getting headshots easier on this weapon is on the bullet size not the head hit box, i use the explosive rytec a lot and im sure they have the same effect bigger bullet easier headshot
While i really do trust the stats you put out, im wondering how both xclusive ace and jgod both got similar bullet velocities of 1100 m/s.
Also, could you do bullet drop tests at 200 ish meters? I think that would be really useful, both to demonstrate your theory about the zrg bullet drop, and to see the other guns relative to each other at more reasonable ranges.
True game data tests at 500 meters and at 240 fps. JGOD and Ace test at 200 meters at 60 fps

Honestly for a 20mm round damage should be instant kill, give it slower ADS and reduce the fire rate to 30 bullets per minute but give it a 300 damage. Also for an anti-material sniper it doesn't disable vehicles as it should with a couple of shots.
I bought it, tried it in plunder to get a feel for it. Nothing really unlocked except for what came on the blueprint. Went back to the kar98

Actually, a massive projectile shot at the same velocity as a smaller projectile will conserver more of its energy and thus will not drop faster or slow of quicker. Test it with an airsoftrifle and a pelletgun, about the same bullet velocity but the pellet has more energy and will go faster further.
It has a 1600 Meter Per second velocity in Cold War! It’s insane!
SO I levelled up this and found it decent BUT no steady aim on Hangman site or many others it seems which is ridiculous.... I prefer abit more zoom than the stock scope which is good I know this but it smy personal preference, Could you look into which scopes you can actually hold your breath on.

if the crosshair always recenters, does the bipod make it recenter faster? I know it helps with visual recoil after the shot.. Also when you are ADS which stock is the best for side to side strafe speed? Combat stock feels faster then the Raider stock but I could be wrong.
