@Dwayne Green, do you know a "map" that has been done of the manuscripts tradition - Alexandrian, Byzantine, Received Text, Family 35, etc.? If so, could you try to show me where I can find it? I am wanting to show an audience a 35,000 ft. view of the overview of why the BYZ tradition and in particular I believe Family 35 is the most reliable.
I haven't started the video yet, but I'm making a guess at how many times Dr. Robinson uses the phrase "counting noses" in this 12 minute conversation. I'm thinking we'll get four. Starting the video now to find out.
Ah! I was off by one! There were three that I noticed, all right there together when describing what the Byzantine guys are accused of doing. Enlightening conversation, guys, thanks.
The Majority text (the white one) is no longer in print as a stand along Greek text, but its available in an interlinear edition. www.amazon.ca/Majority-Text-Greek-Testament-Interlinear/dp/0310143543/ref=sr_1_1?crid=JUWMAQDH21Z1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._TiMtLAlHAV42LbFGwEd0ydfUAJ1Z0lBhjvoqPabTFne9gxUMXW-0MbFSZh6Cf9CulupK75NYFNRo6k82f8UqRrDB-McmB2doTjxmwhxF_6w31aP8SkQNAJCsheUZWTwDbvrvs-6pq1mLk8v1ChDkw.2nX7t1pTxXWRS12ipl_LoKgvWf4li7PZihQxXW6TpN0&dib_tag=se&keywords=majority+text&qid=1736873092&sprefix=majority+text%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-1 The Byzantine textform I have here is the 2005 edition, again which is no longer in print, but the 2018 edition is available here: www.amazon.ca/New-Testament-Original-Greek-Byzantine/dp/395776100X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=RUXXSXTXYV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.u7cYJQJFh8J780-dxP7qWSEYG0yKdAvm19k6RRJBGFFsxzM-R7O0i4EPBD6aY1iKdEkqnLLtk9KRWkndZTyGuIS2-muGMTjEo1pEKFaMKwa8X6CSKbm5IlP_dWgXchK23vgYLWhUONyOmAQb5qAwXaZM329It2mPsNUG48O8gX12K5rERuDWlPn0uWDoZGH_XGQn2Msr-ItFi6ucgQhHul_1gzcnL5oiWYTx5zoz7BbeAsSLG2WbvuqfSlNbrPRqAZwoKXW9cor2Z3MEm_FgH6ykZ0bLk2j8EC3ZeV96Or0uIIr7tyQQANjDqYZlyb7blyzn8K1tixEJbZcNH1tuhVwNGJNRbW6ahB_-1Iu7h8c.N13exoTJNgtNfBC6SU7p0LnPoigRu0r4BOLMpIGCtkA&dib_tag=se&keywords=Byzantine+Textform&qid=1736873132&sprefix=byzantine+textform%2Caps%2C116&sr=8-1 We're currently working on the 2025 edition, which will hopefully be available before the end of this year.
It would be great to have a truly lay explanation of the Byzantine VS Majority. I’m somewhat read on this subject (heavy emphasis on “somewhat”) and I have a hard time when scholars begin using terminology that only they understand. Can you really break it down for me? Also, are all manuscripts included in the majority text, including Alexandrian?
This is a great point, part of my aim this year is to simplify some of the conecepts we talk about, I'll still have the complicated interviews happen, but will make separate videos to make it more attainable by those not submerged in the discussion! Technically the Majority text will uses Alexandrian manuscripts, but I can't think of any example where an alexandrian manuscript had 'tipped the balance' so to speak, typically they are in the minority.
thank you for the video. I was wondering what the difference was between the two groups. Often people refer them as being basically the same thing has been difficult to work out what the difference is.
Thank you very much for this interesting discussion
Fantastic topic. I have never thought about textual criticism
Again, thank you for this great material about Word of God. ❤
great video and timely. I didn't know which one was better. I think I'm going to main the majority with rp as my second choice

The differences are subtle, I think it would be worth taking a look at the resulting differences. I can't think of any major difference.
Could you please do a study on Luke 9:55,56?
I'll put it in my list :)
Hodges was the greatest theologian that’s ever lived.
So the Majority Text is still a Byzantine Text but not as pure a Byzantine Text as the Byzantine Priority Text by Robinson and Pierpont?
That about sums it up! and by 'not as pure', the differences truly are miniscule!
