After her semifinal performance of Bang Bang, Omer Bhatti (one of the judges) said "In my mind, you've already won." Angelina was one of 10 finalists, but won with 46% of the vote. And after winning the prize money (500,000 Norwegian Krone, or about US$50,000) she gave most of it to children's charities. There's simply no one remotely like her.

Angelina was 7 years old when she auditioned with Gloomy Sunday . When she sang 'Summertime' she just turned 8 yrs of age couple of days before hand.

She signed on at 7, and the precasts were held in the days around her birthday, so in the excitement of finally entering the show, I guess she must have forgotten that she just had turned 8. The Judges' cut was on Feb 7th, the "Bang, bang" April 11th, and the final "Summertime" on May 23rd.

G welcome to the group of angels who know Angelina is the best we have ever heard. Angelina was around her 8th birthday when she sang "Gloomy Sunday" and turned 8 before she sang "I'm a Fool to Want You". Honestly with us angels her age doesn't matter because she delivers a top level performance every time. It is not just the incredible vocals but how she is able to convey so much emotion. As talented as Angelina is, her humbleness and empathy completes the picture of a truly remarkable human being.
She is once in a lifetime. And I’m in my seventies. Angelina captivates me like no one else has ever done. Her voice and vocal ability have improved every year, but her performances like the ones you saw today are absolutely timeless. Just magical presence and talent.

These performances only confirmed that Angelina was born a musical prodigy and genius.
She’s been quoted when very young as saying that she never gets nervous when performing. Ever since she won this, she has been adopted by Norway, and they have been so supportive of her and her journey-it’s heartwarming. There must have been a month or so between performances for this competition because you can see her missing teeth coming down from one time to the next. So cute!

How is it possible for a child to have so many distinctive voices? Perhaps an especially pure soul can grasp the spirit of the song and become a revenant of past artistry. Artistry can be resurrected and renewed. In her early works, it must be appreciated that Angelina's covers are not copies, they are expressions reborn with attention to how replication clarifies the authenticity and genius of the song, its original composer, and singer. (or at least, that is how I see it).
If you know anything about singing you realize that singing a total song in a'capella, without a single
key to guide your starting note, can be disastrous, since by starting in the wrong key will affect your
proper completion of the complete performance. Here in 'Im A Fool To Want You' she simply boggles
the mind by accomplishing this easily.
How can a 7 or 8 year old child have vocal fry , perfect pitch and be aware of this kind of music.....it's unreal . I have probably watched this a hundred times and I still get blown away.
the ending of "Summer time" was masterful! The whole damn thing was off the charts insane! But that ending was impossible! How many impossible performances can one human being do? She's done! Winner!
Catch Angelina's live performance of "Fly Me To The Moon" on the Rosie show when she was 8. It was one of her next performances soon after her Norway's Got Talent win. She's simply a phenomenon.

Hi G. You are so good at this. You have reminded me about just how difficult it is to have a world class voice that can match any song that she chooses. She is proof that we were not born into this world as a blank slate. IMO, there are carry over tendencies and actually her bigger gift is her ability to intuitively reach beyond her tendencies and tap the source.

Did you read my last comment about Angelina being an Angel with the ability to channel singers from the past? Tell me that the last three songs you heard her sing, did or did not confirm my theory that Angelina has the ability to channel any type of singer at her will!
I'm 76 years old and I rather believe that Angels are true and Angelina is a miracle child on earth to help spread a message of love through her music.
She is pretty special. When she was 12 she wrote and performed 'Shield', worth giving that one a go if you want to see an example of her writing ability as well.
What is so amazing is Angelina started this competition at age 7 and won it at age 8.
“Summer Time” was written by, George Gershwin and was originally sung by, Ella Fitzgerald. I’m sure George and Ella are looking down and applauding eight year, old Angelina’s performance of this song.

HI G! Amazing performances! And it just doesn't end. Yes, please go back to AJ's first studio experience, recorded by her grandmother. She was six, and was sooo very excited to be in a studio. She recorded "I Who Have Nothing". I've seen a couple different versions of this - one has subtitles which helped me understand the conversation after the first pass (between Angelina and the recording tech). She is so gifted and we are so lucky to be able to experience her like this. Thank you for your outstanding reactions and solid commentary! It's so fun to watch these again with you. Peace! 😊
Omer, the dark haired judge, said in an interview that the judges had observed Angelina practising with the guitarist and instructing him on how to play. This was LIVE on 19th(?) April so she was 8 by this time. The Final was 5 weeks later, and I was introduced to Angelina a week after that when I was inNorway for an event. My host, a jazz musician, couldn’t wait to put me in front his computer. I have followed her since, best I ever heard since Ella.

I saw how affected you were by her acappella cover of I'm A Fool To Want You; I was very moved by it the first time I heard it also. There's a video of her at age 11 rehearsing I'm A Fool To Want You for her album It's Magic, shot by her grandmother in the studio recording booth. It's unbelievable. Please note, there are two versions of that video; you want the one uploaded by Angelina Jordan Fanclub Mozars, which is her grandmother's channel. The other version has the album audio pasted in, and it's harder to hear the nuances of her performance.

Written by George Gershwin performed in the musical porgy and Bess. In her teens she sang it with an orchestra as it was originally written, an aria just mesmerizing
She was 10 in that one and Gershwin wrote the song in the 1930’s

Great reaction to The Singing Angel od a 1,000 Voices! She actually won from the beginning, she alone had 45% of the votes every episode. In an interview the younger male judge,(I don't know his name), had said when she first came out they were not aware of the talent ready to come out, "we were all in total shock", and then, "I was watching her on rehearsal of the Nancy Sinatra song, and she was instructing the Base Player of what she wanted. I knew then she was Authentic!". He also said, "I'm still close with her and her family and do show her off when I can, I even showed her performances to Michael Jackson's Mother, and she was Awe struck!", God Bless!

Angelina performs "Summertime" again at 10 Yrs old with a full orchestra, (including Harp, Oboe, Bassoon and Xylophone) the George Gershwin version. This one was the Ella F./Louis A. version, which she performed again at 8 on stage with a jazz band with hundreds in attendance. So many incredible 8 year old performances including "I'll Be There", At Last", It's A Wonderful World (at the Nobel Prize concert singing directly to the winners at an outdoor concert with a huge crowd for the charity Save The Children) and "Fly Me To The Moon" on the American TV talk show "The View". It is such a mesmerizing experience. While working I put the songs on my headphone putting me in a better mood. As you go through her long list of performances, you can only expect to be surprised all the time. Her voice is very versatile and when she covers a song she adapts her voice somewhat to the original artist while still having her distinct personal sound, gives it an interpretation of her own and still honors the original. She also has a number of originals which are brilliant. So you are in for a long and blissful trip :-)

It's not just she gets everything perfect she also fills it full of the correct emotions. Her Summertime goes back beyond Janis Joplin and into the 40's and 50's . This is from 'Porgy and Bess.' The older lady in the audience that was losing her mind was Mery Zumany Angelina's grandmother. George Gershwin wrote the song.

G, there is a YT video of Angelina jamming with three musicians for "Summertime", around this age. In it you will see her participating in the discussions as an equal and giving her suggestions to them on how she feels it should be played. Around this time musicians lovingly tagged her as "The Boss". Another video shows a jam session with a very good jazz band for her version of "Portrait Of A Man", which she rewrote as "Portrait Of A Girl". Both provide good insights on her understanding of music from a very early age.

Interesting that in Bang Bang, at the end in order to co-ordinate timing with the guitarist she has to actually watch him, eg can't hear him? Is she just leading him through, singing a capella?

The control she has is just ……. and somebody said once that she has a tube of extra air supply hidden down her back (maybe not on this performance, but you get my drift). I love your ability to recognize the greatness of this little girls singing. She sings from her heart and soul here. Unfortunately she is a part of the worlds musical industry nowdays, where the soul is being watered down and lost in the echoes and sound effects, sort of. She was at her peak before she signed with the record company in the states. But her early performances are amazing, and will be one of the worlds most precious musical wonders in history.
