I would LOVE to see this bike have a go with a Britten. The Raceco Guzzi Daytona was right on its tail until something broke. As to the 01, There was a dealership in Seattle who had one in a crate. 49K USD....

I can never understand why they never built this for the road, at least with the Griso engine. I was told by the UK importer that there was no demand for such a sports bike and they could not get the engine through the emissions if they had wanted, but when BMW has produced stripped down and Ohlins equipped Boxers they have always sold out in double quick time and of course Triumph sell the Thruxton 1200, a heritage high spec big slow reving twin with a meaty price tag.

@@buzzinadventures4217 I have looked, but never seen a nice one for sale and or one that offers much more than my nicely tweaked 1100 Sport Corsa which is too good and rare to apply a GB kit to. I am hoping they will do a V100 derivative to combat the Ducati Super Sports.

By the way. In Germany a few have actually been made road legal via individual registration, which was possible for only one year until the new EU rules became universal. Imagine owning one of those.

A bloody travesty a road version was never produced. I know a couple have been registered for the road by their owners. Now all we get are cruisers, chook chasers and learner bikes. How the mighty have fallen.
