I just retired from the Bell System and I love collecting old artifacts. In the Good Old Days (before about 1976,) you got a new truck every 3 years or so or at 90,000 miles. They made me keep my last truck (2003 Ford F-250) for 16 years and 330,000 miles. I knew guys with 400K on their trucks.
Heads up, a fan of Military Paint, I used it for durable use on older jeeps. But fair warning, CARC paint contains several chemical compounds that can be hazardous when inhaled or exposed to the skin. Always wear PPE when sanding, and NEVER let it fall on the ground. Always use Plastic tarps to catch paint dust. That greenish paint is probably carc paint.
@@hylandshire HAD A 64 ECO IN 1973 IN THE SPEED SHOP WE WORKED, REBUILT ENGINE ADDED ASTRO MAGS CADDY AM FM RADIO MUSTANG BUCKETS AND MALLORY UNILITE IGNITION.....................SWEEET

Ha Ha! I was working in the car wash at a ford dealer and that was our parts truck. The shag boy told me to wash it and kinda lorded it over me so while i washed it i ran a wire from a plug to the seat n squirted it with my squirt bottle on the seat. He started it to take off and jumped every time he touched ground. He finally had to shut the key with his foot, LOL! A friend of mine had one it was a rolling party in that thing. People got high if they were near the side door when it opened, Ha Ha!
@@hylandshirelove seeing these get back out on the road. The simplicity of those older Econolines is, at least to me, very desirable for low cost but cool rig. I’m currently looking for one to restore. These videos are very informative and inspiring. Great video

We have a 64 pickup and it has the heater box on the floor, the really annoying, huge box on the floor
There's another one on yutube the young kid got it from his grandpa and made it into a 4×4n painted it a dark Grey
So what happened to this Econoline?
It's back on the road! Still needs a lot of love but I drive it often in the Summer
