There is one error in this video. I say that the Hohner Thunderbird comes in 9 keys available from Low F to Low F#. What I meant to say is Low F to Low Low F. Slip of the tongue. My apologies.

low low f is a wild sound. I don't think i ever noticed it before. I have the Marine band with the pear wood and trying to clean it. having fun but it might be awhile before and concert.
Crossover G Dur is verry cool but My Favorit is the Marine Band Deluxe in Bb Flat 🥰👍

I got a Thunderbird. Easy and good sound. I like more than my Golden Melody hardier to play for the moment. Thunderbird is very recommended for start in the harmonica. Thank you for your video

I've been playing the normal Marine Band harps for almost 60 years. Haven't tried a Crossover but I think I will soon as I loved the crisp notes and tone. I did buy two Thunderbirds recently and they are unsuited for any major slurring. However, they are good with rhythm and straight tunes, although I discovered, to my surprise, that my subconscious was assuming I was playing a normal range harp and choosing to blow when I should be sucking and made me suck when I should be blowing! I haven't played so many wrong notes since I was 7 years old. I assume it's because the higher part of the Thunderbird scale is so low my brain assumed it was at the low end of a normal harp scale - which has different note actions. Anyway, I notice that my subconscious is sorting out the errors as I am making less as the days go by.

The first Harmonica i got was from my girl, it was Hohner Marine band special 20, and it sounded so good, very distinctive rich tone to it. Ive had it for about 14 yrs. Didnt play it much untill about 6 mos. Ago ! Now its out of tune, so i found one on line wich was very hard !! When i received it, it just seemed so cheap, and sounded nothing like my old one, VERY DISSAPOINTED !! A few friends who been playin for yrs. Never heard of a marine band special 20, its either one or the other !! I wish i could get my old one fixed !! Its so comfortable on my lips, just love it !! Hohner can u help me out PLEASE !!!

Hi Ronnie , I'd like to buy a few marine band harps but I'd like to know also if the 1896 classic one has got those too sharp edges which make it kind of hard to paly and not comfortable on lips like most people usually say ( I never tried them out so I don't know ). Thanks !

Do you think that the uge price difference for the Crossover is worth it versus the MB?

You can modify the harp to to use screws instead of nails.
