Rubber washer stop rain from running down the line and then into hammock . Drip cord will do the same thing. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Before the heaters , I used to warm meal under my armpit .😜
Thanks ray. I do need to get out and practice some more primative way's of making fire. I have some ideals for future fire making videos. Thanks for watching and hope all is well🤗
The disk, it's to keep water from running down and an insect barrier...kind of... I prefer to hang a ridge line above the hammock for my basha and I have a usgi mosquito net that I spread on the ridge line under the basha. You can take some 550 and place loops within reach above you on the ridge line to hang a head lamp and essentials like a knife and such. Need an OD triangle bandage to use as a dew rag, for that MACV SOG finishing touch.
O yes not sure why I didn't think of that disk being used for that...geez and I'm supposed to be scotty survival....lol...😆. O yes I will put the bandage on my never ending list of camping gear🤔. Litefighter makes a military hammock that looks so much better and bigger but for way to much money.
Evening brother 👍. Is it me or is that a bit small for ya... But it's a great setup. I've being hammock camping for a bit now an at first, I couldn't get use too it eg. Not being on the floor. But three or four times it's great. You find the right spot to lay in an brother your away... Last camp I went to bed at 12am an didn't get up till 9 in the morning lol... Great video mate keep positive, you will get there 👍😁🙏😎🇬🇧
Ya it's a bit short, but then again I haven't been in a larger hamnock yet. So I will have to give it another try. I usually sleep rough and finally fall asleep late sleeping in late like you did. But I will give it another go. Thanks for watching andy and commenting.
😂 was just thinking the same Andy, kind of narrow too. Think I’d fall out in the night. Do like the way the poncho is set up Scotty, valiant effort dude
I really do like the set-up with poncho. I am doing a overnight in it soon this summer. Their is actually another way to set this hammock up, and I might try it that way when I do the overnight. Stay tuned in for that episode. Will be the first episode of a new series I'm doing this summer🤗💯👍
@@scottysurvival Yes, I sleep on my side all the time. I have a few hammocks and they are all around 5 foot wide if spread out. I was out last night in the DD XL. Video will be out in my channel in a couple of hours. 👍
Your supposed to shake up the water so it wets the whole heater, not just the bottom part. Then lay it down with the heater on the bottom with your meal on top so heater stays wet. Your MRE will be piping hot in a few minutes. If your not letting the water completely wet the heater, its not going to have the chemical reaction to heat the food.
Hi Scotty, I don't blame you, that hammock doesn't look too comfortable. A valiant effort though! I've been meaning to ask you about a previous video you did when you were using the Loctite- vinyl.fabric & plastic flexible adhesive on your Ecotat shelters. I just bought a tube of it a couple weeks ago. I wanted to try it on an older tent of mine, on the rainfly where the taped seams are starting to peel. Did it work out ok for you? and I was wondering if it's sticky after it dries? Hopefully it doesn't make the nylon stick together when you fold up your tent.
I'm going to give it another go again hopefully. The loctite worked well. Not sticky. It dries very fast. I only used it on the outside of my ecotat. All I can say is mine is doing fine. I didn't notice any sticking to each other. I hope it works out for ya.

Cool piece of history gear , love the Vietnam era , do you have a pair of jungle boots from that time frame ?
Thank you. They came up with some pretty neat pieces if gear during that era. I di not have any jungle boots from that ere. Thanks for watching 🤗💯
It would look like that if you were in vietnam? Without a mosquito net?
Hammocks are great, I just think that one is too small for you.
Ya You're probably right. I just wonder if it's possible to lay on your side in a hammock?. That's my problem I'm a side sleeper.

Mre's find them all the time in the trash near the ranges at Bragg and other bases,

I will have to try that next time. I don't remember the instructions saying to shake it up though.

Sometimes, but most of the time🤔. Thanks for watching 💯😎
