Had something similar happen to me. In the office where I janitor-ize, one office gal complained more than once that I was emptying her trash too often (once a day). Cue malicious compliance, I let her trash can nearly overflow before I'll touch it. She's known about the office for being a control freak too, and isn't the boss of anybody to boot.
I used to work shifts on security and for a while had a shift supervisor with a Napoleon complex - his word was law! The security office was at the front of the building and the windows wrapped around 3 sides of our office. When the sun came up it was so bright we had to have reflective tints applied to the windows so we could see out. The problem this caused however, was that if you had the main office lights on during the night shift then you couldnt see out because the tints reflected the light back in. As a consequence we all got into the habit of leaving the main lights out and just putting desk lights on. On the night in question Napoleon was in charge and in full flow. I asked politely if we could turn out the main lights as my duty that night was the front desk and CCTV monitoring and I needed to see outside but couldnt. His answer was an emphatic "I'm in charge and I will say when the lights go out". I said OK as this was the first night of a 4 night shift duty and he could make your life a misery if he didnt get his own way. He was also the type of person who would not volunteer to make drinks, but would never refuse if offered one. CUE MY REVENGE. I then proceeded to offer to make drinks all through the shift at half hour intervals. We were on 10pm - 6am so he got 14 drinks from me during the shift. However, each of his had two heaped spoonfuls of coffee in them. In other words more than twice the caffeine you would get in a single LARGE mug. This went on throughout the shift and I made sure to be pleasant each time I provided another drink. By the time he went home the next morning he was so wired his eyes were out on stalks and he had a nervous twitch. The next night when he came in he said he hadn't been able to sleep at all that day, he'd developed a massive migraine, that he was absolutely knackered and ALSO he wanted the main lights left off on nights from now on because he thought thats what caused his migraine. Success all around, and to this day he hasn't a clue about what I did.
really weird fun fact: Movie printers exist. I have no idea who came up with this concept, but I once knew a guy who had one. He brought it over because I was "The PC guy", and asked me what the hell it was. I actually had to read the manual to find out. This thing will take a .MOV file and print every X frame onto paper. Why this exists, or why anyone ever bought one, is beyond me. But it is a real piece of tech.
I worked in restaurants for several years, and I swear, every time I had to chop parsley or cilantro that picture is basically what I was afraid of. I worked at a big chain restaurant as prep, and even though it was more than 15 years ago, I still won’t chop parsley or cilantro when I’m cooking at home. Too many flashbacks of the kitchen manager in my ear yelling at me to “hurry up, hurry up!” while coming thisclose to losing part of a finger.

11:13 Ahhh, never assume. ^^ My mother used to be a nurse before her one knee (they're both bad) had to be replaced, forcing her to retire. Some of the stories she told me about her former co-workers and bosses make me scared to go to a hospital. A lot of doctors and surgeons can be arrogant know-it-alls. Although, there was this one doctor who was a nice, down-to-earth older guy who brought in donuts for the nurses from time to time. I guess it isn't exactly a no-no, but it's sort of frowned upon, and the higher-ups gave him crap about it. He got away with it, though, because he was legitimately one of the best doctors there, and he told them, "These nurses bust their butts for very little thanks, and if I want to treat them to donuts once in a while, I'm gonna. If you don't like it, I'll transfer to (other hospital name)." They backed down, he continued to bring in donuts, and some of his co-workers were actually in tears when he retired.

When my little brother was going to Collage, (or rather University), he worked at a certain well-known grocery store in the Deli section. One day, some lady (I think, not that it matters) asked for some sliced meat. He was about to cut what was open already, when he realized that it was expired. He located another - expired. He found a third - expired. Found yet another - okay. He sliced that meat for the customer. Then, he was like "How much do we have on the shelf that is expired?" He went, checked, and chucked out $700 worth of bad meat. The manager (or whomever) wasn't happy, and complained about my brother doing this. The next day, there was an Unscheduled visit from the Health Inspector, who checked the meat. The management looked at my brother, as if wondering "Did he know?" These days, little brother is a physical therapist, making decent money. He also has a nice house, car, a couple of kayaks he uses for fishing, a dog, and is on very good terms with a nice woman.
So, from what I know, you should be able to legally change your gender/name and stuff in Oregon, regardless of state of birth(don't quote me on that, I personally have yet to do so as I haven't done any of my surgeries or looked into it fully). The state health insurance also fully covers *all* transition costs. From appointments with psychologists(skip this by just going to Planned Parenthood, they don't require it), to surgeries(this includes hair removal, top/bottom surgery, etc), to medications.

She actually worked in an elderly folks home and is called Karen, and I think she was some kind of manager position, though I know from a Take Your Kids To Work Day thing that she also went around cleaning rooms like normal staff. I honestly got curious about whether she was actually the one in the story, because it was a pretty close fit, but it wasn't a community nursing thing, it was just one big building. She also isn't even 60 yet and while she had been out of work for a while raising me and my siblings, she had my dad to ask if she ever had a computer issue, and was tech-savvy enough to use stuff like Word and Powerpoint and all that on her own. Tyshawn Gaming Yeah! 😭

I didn't even notice the thumbnail. Just saw "Oh! New rSlash video!" click
Edit after looking: Oh. That's neat trick photography. It's not so bad when you've legit watched a surgeon repair a traumatically amputated (medical-speak for "accidentally cut off") finger. Not mine. I was a medic student on hospital rotation. The patient was really chill about the whole thing. Pain meds worked, I guess.
Did anyone laugh their butt off when the story said. The inspector jammed his knuckles into the slicer? 🤣

You Idiot sandwich!
As a FtM who was also born and raised in Tennessee I can confirm that this is actually very much real and very much something people do here. I say I’m FtM but really I’m non-binary and even with the knowledge that I go by he/him pronouns as well as they/them people do purposefully go out of their way to misgender and try and dehumanize me everyday. Moral of the story is don’t go to Tennessee if you LGBT especially if you’re the T.
acreepycookie I’m so sorry you have to go through that. I hope you’re able to get to a safer environment!

Agreed, that'd be awesome. I miss Yugo.
Okay, that transgender one was brilliant. "Oh, I'm a man? Guess this won't be a problem then, huh?"

You and mr Reddit two of the few things that have been keeping me sane during all this and when getting through my workouts. Don’t even care if I hear the same stories over and over, they are entertaining with your voices and have given me HUGE amounts of ammunition against entitled people. If you like stuff you can just listen to without watching while you do other things, then check out Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. He has a way of retelling the history in a way where it's not just remembering random dates and famous people and places. He tells them in a way where you get the personal human experience of what it might have been like to be alive during the times or just to be there in that moment. Some of my favorites of his are Blueprint for Armageddon and Punic Nightmares. Consider checking it out, great stuff. 100+ hours of content. It's been great, keeps me busy for hours while I do lab tests at work.
Maliciouscompliance is my favorite subreddit on this channel. I'd love to see more of that!

I live in Tennessee and I have two Trans friends that live not far from me, can confirm that Tennessee is not LGBTQ friendly. Doesn't help that I'm a bisexual furry.
Thank you south!

Moving pictures on "paper" is something that is being worked on. But we would not be having this fun story if it had already hit the market.
As someone who used to live in TN, I can testify that a lot of people there don’t support LGBTQ much at all. Or maybe it was just where I lived in TN. Either way it sucked.
i THINK I see where Tennesee is going, RELEASE THE PUPPIES!!!
The management looked at my brother, as if wondering "Did he know?"
These days, little brother is a physical therapist, making decent money.

Thank you r/slash for making these videos daily. I love being able to listen to you and I gotta thank my bf for introducing me to your videos. Thanks so much for the amazing stories and I hope that you are doing well during this quarantine.

hey, man-- i know you probably get millions of notifications a day so the chances of you seeing this are low, but i still want to thank you. i live alone and don't have a license, so most of my quarantine has just been just sitting at home alone. adjusting to big life changes is hard for me, so it's been important to keep a semblance of a schedule to uphold my mental well-being. i honestly can't tell you how helpful it is to jumpstart my day with immediately having something to listen to and laugh at in the morning while i make my coffee, and it sets me on a good path every single day.

My heart actually stopped for a moment as I wondered "Wait, please don't say this is a story about my mother."
Woulda been amazing to meet her in August and lead with "So, remember that elderly folks home job? Boy do I have a story for you." xD
Nice.
