The construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge is a major infrastructure project spanning both the United States and Canada. The bridge is named after Gordie Howe, a Canadian ice hockey player who was one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
The project involves a significant workforce, including engineers, construction workers, project managers, environmental specialists, and various other professionals. These workers come from both sides of the border and collaborate to ensure the successful completion of the bridge.

I love your videos. I'm somewhat of a construction nerd and this project just fascinates me. If you do requests, I know a lot has to do with your time, but I would love the see how the cables are installed. Anyway, keep up the great work you are doing, I always look forward to your videos.
Thank you Tom!
I have a few stay cable videos on the channel.

About 5 more weeks and the two Halfs meet. Than the fun begins. A piece of steel that fits in the morning might get warm in the sun and not fit once the temperature changes.
2:44 Way to go, Elton.

Gravity is very much a part of these workers' experience, but otherwise they're rather like astronauts suspended in space, tethered to their structure.
Love the soundtrack BTW!
Interesting analogy. Thank you for watching the video!
A couple years back, I tried to watch a live feed of a space walk outside the ISS.
After ten minutes of a body cam watching the astronaut hooking on, un hooking, hooking on, unhooking to their safety points, I couldn't take it any more, lol!
These posts are way more interesting!
Gravity and the wind. The wind is about as reliable as gravity; it blows every day.
Would love to see a video on threading the cables from the tower
Coming soon!
Dudes are effen ROCK STARS!
The Nelson studs are the gray dowels with a pan head located on the top flange of the beams. They get embedded in concrete which will be poured to tie the precast panels that form the bridge deck to the steel beams being installed. They sometimes are referred to as shear studs. I'm not sure why the video has "Nelson Studs" as the title.
The iron workers using the sledge hammers are apparently trying to remove "aligning pins" which are temporary until the permanent bolts can be installed.
Thanks for the clarification. While I had the right idea, my application was incorrect, now it makes sense.
Google "Nelson Studs"
Yes I agree, they are just installing bolts...the Nelson Studs are up top.
@@zachheitman6247 I'm just a guy with a drone.
@@michaelanthonyvideos And we appreciate you
when they decided to build this, i knew it would be named after gordie
Howe?
Michael--you've led the pack of video chroniclers of the Gordie from day one--and have never given up pole position
I'm not a quitter. Thank you very much for watching all the videos!
The man power
Those girders sure are huge !
Amazing
Cool shots once again. 👍🍁🤙
Thank you Blue Man!
great video
Thank you!
I was in Windsor yesterday. The two sides are close to meeting up. Late June meet up is likely. Great videos.
Thank you for watching!
Gave hammer to crew "BamBam"!!
hello, I wonder if they are going to just hand pinch up the joiner plate holes on that super duper jesus segment ? no joke ! are they going to line up to the millimeter or the 1/16 th ? tks awesome drone work
Thank you for watching!
I'd like to see how they tighten up the cables. Also do they re-tighten those bolts or is just using those battery pack guns enough to do the job? I wouldn't think so!
You didn't watch the whole video then.
How manymre bays until joined? 4 or so?
The threads on those bolts have to be messed up by pounding them in like that.
Another trip back to Home Depot.
Is that an alignment dowel they are pounding on with the sledgehammer?
I think it is, yes.
I think its called a drift pin
2:19that’s like where I used to work ;
if it doesn’t fit , get a bigger hammer
Will the two sides be connected by the end of May?
No, not that soon.
Yes.
Lol, this is a union job. There going to drag it as long as they can!
@@markb9241 That's for sure.
Why Don’t they use grease on those elephant bolts??
Not on the blue prints.
I 'm watching workers use sledgehammers to install these Nelson bolts. Wouldn't pneumatic hammers do a faster and more efficient job?
You wouldn't be a iron worker without a sledge hammer

Don’t see to many young ladies working on this project? Does that mean society still needs MEN! 👍🇨🇦
Equality is just another leftist slogan meant to undermine the West and give the socialist control freaks more power. Nobody actually wants equality...that would mean the useless lefties who vote for Biden and Trudeau would all have to do real and productive work like these guys do.
All that nonsense in the media is a farce.
Hmm, that 's sexist. I'm sure Ladies are working on other parts of the project. It's factually known that women do not have the physical strength, but that does not mean the brains are any less qualified. They are not doing the most physical of jobs. A woman does not have the bodily force or weight behind a swing for a sledgehammer to hit hard enough. Yes, Unfortunately, we still need men to reproduce.
0:07 yea that wont blow off. 4:51 already blew off.
😆It was very windy that day.
Most annoying music imaginable.
MUTE BUTTON
I can imagine way more annoying "music".
