I’d like to see how the cables are attached to both ends. That has to be an engineering feat all on its own..

When they connect will the workers need passports?

There seems to be too much steel in the design. So how are we going to join the two spans into one? We could have opted for truss design.

Just get some of the crew to jump up and down on the Canadian side for a week or two.

Both sides will move around some depending on the temperature and the amount of sunshine. Don’t panic. Take care.

The US side in a bit higher they may have to lower the us side or raise the Canadian side

I wouldn't be surprised if the simple solution is to move the big and heavy crane on the American side back 50 feet and watch the relative bridge deck levels shift.

Good amount of weight missing on the US side with them being a bit behind as well.

The depth of human ingenuity is simply staggering. It makes me wonder if our senior politicians on both sides of the border are in fact members of the same species that designed, engineered and constructed this fantastic bridge and the access to it.

if everbody has been following along you will know the answer to this , it is done on purpose in order for the last segment / closure section to be connected.

In the early 70’s I worked for an engineering firm designing an interstate highway. The bridges were being built first as earthwork on the roadbeds we’re progressing. At some point as the concrete highway was in full swing we discovered a tiny miss entry in the data years earlier allowed the centerline to cause the road surface to miss the bridge by 13 feet! Our insurance company was not happy.

I've just started watching bridge construction videos, to me the fact that everything lines up when new pieces are installed is nothing short of amazing.

Watch one of the videos that shows a time-lapse of the construction progress. Both ends flop around like noodles as the increase in length. They fine tune them as they go. No problems.

It's an engineered speed bump to satisfy all the Karens that want to have one on every street

I absolutely love all the comments from the armchair Iron workers, engineers and architects out there. Do you honestly think all these Professionals don't know exactly what they are doing? Every last minute detail has been calculated for. Hundreds of thousands of man hours, tens of thousands spent in development and.... 6.4 billion at stake. Come on, give yourselves a collective head shake. These folks know exactly what to do. There's very little room for error when you've got this much on the table. This ain't a video game, there are no restarts.
