I have the 9k on my jeep, replaced the steel cable with an 18k poly rope and it has never failed to yank me out of a mud hole or pull a buddy out of a ditch.

Random but relevant, I bought a Hercules table saw..that table saw lasted me a very long time and got me to the point of owning a 6 figure solo custom wood working business lol. It was a good saw.
IKEA and Harbor Freight are not trash but it is essential to know what to get and what to avoid. Rule one: if it needs to hold your weight or it has the potential of harming you if it fails, shop elsewhere.
Their little Hatchets are not bad for the price. They have axes, shovels, and splitting mauls also. I took a chance and bought a 5 ton electric log splitter. It busted all the red oak I needed for the year.
As a contractor, everything on your list is in the drivers side back of my truck. I would add an auto ignite propane torch to the list. Hours of flame that ignites damp wood or stealth cooking.
19:11 Duct tape is used for residential, low pressure duct joints. The foil tape is for hight pressure/high temperature applications. At least that was what we did 30 years ago in my previous life as a tin bender. But even then, we used it more for literally everything else. Only about 15-20% was used on actual duct work.
The key is understanding the situation and the way you will be using your Harbor Freight finds. They are definitely working on improving their items and upgrading the quality of the products they offer. Good on you for sharing and for explaining that there are many useful tools to be had there. Thanks Jeremy! #truckEDC #whiskeyhat.
I bolted down my apache case inside my truck to stop snatch and grabbers from taking my stuff. Got anything expensive laying around inside? Into the apache case it goes. For example, laptop, GHB
as a contractor, i probably have everything needed for any situation in my truck. medkit for work precautions, gun of course, saws, bolt cutters, leatherman, tarps, batteries, water, dewalt tools, wrenches etc
Legal and logical use for bolt cutters and why I put some in my truck. Couple years ago California wildfires trapped people on the freeway because the fence separating the opposing lane and the way away from the fire was a chain link fence. I remember people using anything they could find to cut a hole to get through and I went to harbor freight and bought bolt cutters that day.
Great list. Those cases are soo good! Whenever they go on sale I get one. Everything from power supply built to rifle cases, radio repeater..... Gees the possibilities as the endless.
They have Milwaukee clip and magnet lights good for working on a vehicle in low light situations and the clip can clip onto ur hat and be used as a head lamp.
Apache cases also make pretty awesome panniers on a motorcycle if you get creative. Ive also seen people external mount them on an overland vehicle and toss a weather resistant lock on them.
I get why he wants the camo tarp, completely understandable. As someone who lives in a blizzard zone, I'd prefer orange in my truck. That way I can be found. But hes Florida, crashing and trying to survive in the snow isnt exactly a worry lol
My wife always laughs at me but I am a flashlight FREAK! I have sooo many lights around the house, shop, basement work bench, trucks, cars, and even my Rebel I could probably make Vegas blush. Thanks Jeremy for the video. I didn’t realize Harbor Freight carried the Apache cases. I also like their aluminum floor jack for the truck! #truckedc #whiskeyhat
When I worked with the fire service we had a 36 inch and a 48 inch set of bolt cutters. We called the 48 inch set the key to the city. If it fit between the jaws it got cut. BTW, great video.
Harbor freight has a lot of hidden gems. Another hidden gem is their coupons. 20-25% makes the good prices even better. Great content as normal, keep it up! #TRUCKEDC #WHISKEYHAT
Harbor freight is really for boats and sailing. Where you need a lot of knick knack shxt at basically a wholesalers price to put a boat together. *Big packs of jersey gloves. Good gloves in general. Also *locks are good way to go like the 2ft cabke lock with combo dial and i got a gunlock for my bike in general. Various locks and bicycle shxt. Sewing stuff.
You missed the quilted moving blankets. They are like $8-10. I keep a few in the rig in case I break down and it's cold or you could throw them down on the mud/snow if you have to change a tire or crawl under the vehicle.
Cool video man. I have several Apachie cases got the rifle case for $100 at their parking lot sale. I put together a pretty nice gun cleaning kit from HF stuff. Thanks for the tips!
Great video. I showed it to my 16yo son who just got his first truck and license. I now have to take him to Harbor Freight lol. Thanks again, keep up the good vids.
I am a truck driver one thing that has proved to be extremely helpful. The Bauer small blower . 20v battery works really good for blowing out trailer and truck. The little vac works well also . I use a lot of tools from there for truck and trailer repairs. And if you lose them fine go buy another . Using them for 3 yrs now and still working well.
HA, I had a couple of those items already in my truck, bought at HF years ago. The rope has been of use in all kinds of situations. I even doubled it up once and pulled out another vehicle from the snow with that camo rope. The Gorilla Duct tape is in every car we own, super useful. I've got a couple of the Apache cases, they are BOMB. The I'm surprised he didn't mention they make great humidors! I take all foam out, throw a Bodeva or two in a smaller one and it'll will keep the correct humid-temp rock solid for months. Not a EDC item, more of overlanding gear, but their RoadShock LED light bars are pretty boss as well. I put a 22in on my Silverado and it lights the world up when I need it.
We don’t have harbour freight in Australia but we do have that style of cheap depot hardware store. I do get my general base gear from those places I was surprisedu didn’t have any zip ties in the video. Always fun to watch and get ideas from cheers mate. #truckedc #whiskeyhat
Very interesting video. The rope deteriorates over time if left out in the elements. I know because I purchased it with the tarp to stop water from coming in through a cracked skylight. It will not last the summer.
Harbor Freight helped me become a mechanic. Is my truck currently sitting in the driveway with two flat tires and a burned out fuel pump? Yeah, but because of Harbor Freight, I can fix it. When I'm ready.
Harbor Freight has saved me a few times when I'm needed to stay under budget. I've been looking for a low budget tool box to keep in my travel trailer. I'll have to check them out. #truckedc #whiskeyhat
Yes, I totally agree. Harbor Freight is mostly trash, but I can appreciate the little hidden gems that they sometimes have. Thanks for the great video! #truckedc #whiskeyhat
Great ideas , awesome video thank you for putting in the time and effort to bring this to us. There is no such thing as being too prepared! Because of the current cost increase in almost anything that has to do with prepping, I have purchased several of the HF moving blankets, they are rough but at $5-$7 bucks they are way cheaper than most surplus blankets. #truckedc #wiskeyhat
For tarps I've always picked up the canvas tarps from harbor freight. They're pretty affordable as far as canvas goes and I've had the same one for 7 years and another one for 3. Might be worth looking into
First time on the channel, and I gotta say this is awesome! Very helpful, informative, with none of the "do this not that" kinda junk I've seen elsewhere. Dope Beard, too! You got my sub dude, great stuff man.
The Harbor Freight tools are definitely “budget friendly” but still a good value. They use to give coupons as well (not sure if that is a thing still), but well worth it. #TRUCKEDC #WHISKEYHAT
100% those hard cases are awesome. I also like some of the smaller clear plastic cases for organizing small parts. Anything injection molded or made from cheap steel comes from the same factories in china anyway just gets a different branding mark if it goes to another retailer.
That’s a great description of what harbor freight truly is! They really do occasionally have some real gems but you often gotta sift thru some turds to find them!
I don't know I make good use of harbor freight once you get to learn what they have and I'm a painter by trade and they do real well for the painters and safety glasses and face shields. I would say they have more that is good then that is not
Appreciate the thorough review of Harbor Freight gear. Great vid. I challenge you though- the rope you chose and the bungee cords are both crap. I have found that they both degrade rapidly in the sun. The bungees don't actually stretch much and become brittle quickly. The rope frays and falls apart quick too. Instead- I recommend grabbing some of their paracord and tie downs. Also- they have plastic ammo cans if you don't need the weight and security of the metal cans. Lastly- grab some gloves. Just my choices. Cheers from Flagstaff.
This is a great and informational video for vehicle EDC that a lot of folks should be watching. I am definitely going to be checking out these items, and others, for my truck and car. Thank you for making it! #truckedc #whiskeyhat
One of the most important things imo to carry in your truck is a good variety of tools that you can get by with if your vehicle breaks down while you're out somewhere. I have been in that situation with no tools and it was a giant pain in the ass. Ever since then I put a tool kit together of stuff that I would need and it fits in a case snugly under my back seat.
Great information, I am just getting ready to begin building my first truck EDC kit and this info is really vaulable, thanks. Oh for winches the Badlands APEX looks pretty good, Matt from Overland Rescue uses them.
Great video and some cool picks I hadn't considered before. Yes there are some duds at HF. But, I have also found great gear there. Their US General toolboxes have served me well over the last 12 years. Their Icon, Bauer and Hercules lines are really good and have also served me well. I recently bought their Badland Apex 12k winch. We'll see how that goes in due time. I also love their Apache cases.
I used to have to use bolt cutters all the time when I worked in concrete foundations for clipping off form ties and opening bundles of rebar cutting off rod and pencil rod for form work all kinds of stuff
Edc items start at 5:00 minutes mark, you are welcome.
Thank you. No offense to the guy but get to the point lol 😂

Harbor freight icon tools are top notch..not cheap but look at the head to head comparison yo snap on mac etc..those daytona floor jacks are great!
Thank you sooooo much......for the great information and the comedy series.......needed both
Harbor Freight helped me become a mechanic.
I’m at Harbor Freight right now…your suggestions are spot on grabbed some stuff thanks to you!!!!
I agree 100% on HF, if you have the time it's worth a trip. Always something worth the visit. Great video as always Jeremy. #TRUCKEDC #WHISKEYHAT
The Harbor Freight tools are definitely “budget friendly” but still a good value. They use to give coupons as well (not sure if that is a thing still), but well worth it.

I would say they have more that is good then that is not
Those Apache cases are SOLID. I’ve been using them for guns and drones for years and I’ve beat the hell out of them. Practically indestructible
Love all the little clips you insert 😂
Stumbled upon this by accident. Great info. I'll have to check out the rest of the videos! Thank you!
The Apache case is also good to make a travel humidor. Just add some boveda packs and maybe some cedar sheets in, and you're ready to go!
I have the badland winch and it has never disappointed. Also, the gun cases go on sale quarterly (i believe) the rifle cases go down to $100ish.
First time viewer! Loved the Harbor Freight Truck EDC video. Very informative and entertaining! Earned a new subscriber for sure!
Extreme duty tarps, bower leaf blower and car vac have all been great
I love harbor freight... not gonna lie... for overland/offroad stuff they actually have some really solid stuff at great deals.
When I saw the rope I was waiting on the Boondock Saints clip. Missed opportunity brother!
yeah. HF has some good stuff and these were a good selection of that. thanks for the video, bud.
The Pittsburgh jacks are awesome.
I'm gonna get that Apache for sure. Thanks Jeremy for the heads up.
Great information, I am just getting ready to begin building my first truck EDC kit and this info is really vaulable, thanks.
Oh for winches the Badlands APEX looks pretty good, Matt from Overland Rescue uses them.
For occasional use they are not bad, had a chop saw for metal last many years and still working.
Love that I found this video being that I have let me truck EDC go away and I’m ready to build it up again.
