It was refreshing seeing how much stuff can be packed away while also still functioning as a family vehicle. I loved how you couldnt tell how much stuff was in it from first glance
I witnessed/was first person to stop for two different engine fires where both cars were engulfed in less than 5 minutes. Both were total losses and both were within 4 blocks of a fire station. After the second one, I've never gone anywhere without a fire extinguisher in my vehicle.
That big blue solar panel is a beast. I can't say enough good things about it. Years ago in the Army we were sent out into the field for almost a month (yes I'm aware that you were a Ranger and a month is weak sauce). No power, no way to charge our phones, still expected to use our phones for duty, good times. That little panel made my life so much better. It never failed me over the 6 years I was in.
Awesome ride, great gear. I have some suggestions on what to add (as if you weren't prepared enough). 1. Pocket Mirror 2. Notebooks 3. Deck of cards 4. Titan straps 5. WD40 6. Carabiner clips 7. Knee pads 8. Tape measure 9. Air pump 10. Usb/harddrive loaded with movies 11. Tweezers 12. Jack stand 13. Gas container 14. Pistol grip plyers 15. Bolt cutters 16. Fold away hand truck 17. Strap wrench 18. Roll of quarters 19. Flex wand bic lighter 20. Small titanium pry bar 21. Nail clippers 22. 3 prong charging cable 23. Claw light magnetic pick up tool 24. Lock pick set 25. Set of quick release clamps 26. Super glue 27. All purpose cleaner spray 28. A level 29. Tri flow lubricant 30. C clamp 31. 11" long reach pliers 32. Tacklife 61 in 1 bit set 33. Toilet paper 34. Air shim 35. Air dust can 36. Spare house key 37. Walkie talkie set 38. Spare set of clothes 39. 1000 in emergency cash (different denominations) 40. LED road flare disk. That's all I can think of for now. Hope one or some of these seem like a good idea. You got yourself a new subscriber.

May I suggest you get a truck box? There are truck boxes that sit inside the bed without taking up the side walls, so you can still use a tunal cover. Also, I did not see an air compressor and fix a flat kit, or maybe I missed it. I have a F150 and I do keep forgetting that the rear seats also fold down to reveal extra storage. Watching this video makes me want to rearrange things and build up my kit better for my truck.
Amazing, very impressed . Preparedness is definitely Prudent. What comfort and security you must feel that your prepped . Didn’t see Super Glue, then at the end of your video you had it 👍 I once sealed up a child’s scalp who split it open after hitting a tree from riding his bicycle way out in the Forest hours away from a hospital. He definitely needed stitches but thanks to the Super Glue he never had to get them. I was the only person out of 30 people that had Super Glue.
Throw in some metal binder clips. You know the ones from Staples…. They hold papers together. Black with wire handles. They are great for keeping a tarp on a ridge line for a quick bivy.
Great list the only thing I would recommend is folding your gloves into each other or using a snack or sandwich bags to keep them neat and together. I usually have a couple of quart ziplock bags in the glove compartment. They're pretty handy especially when you have little ones.
I did not see a tire repair kit. They are much faster than a spare tire. Hundreds of people are kill by being hit on the side of the freeway. So the faster you can get back into your car the lower chance you will die. A high visibility vest would also be good. Excellent kit in general thanks for sharing.
Hi i just bought a 1992 gmc Sierra 2500 4x4. I'm going to use it to move Tenn. I got inspired to retro fit the cabin. Like remove the back bench seat and replace it with a shelf that my last husband built. That way I could organize my tools and such so that i wouldn't have to move 3 items just to get what want. I have also seen where guys are making drawers that pull out under the seat! Thank you so much. I have most of the items that you have minus the hammock, moonshade; which is one item I will be saving money for. That was a idea. I'm planning on moving to Newport, Tennessee and live in a tiny house. I can't wait, I'm tired of WA state. I miss my people. Any way. Now I know what I need and where to to put it.
Hey thanks for posting the video, it’s very helpful. Just a quick tip. If it’s possible please anchor your booster seats. It’s not mandatory I don’t believe from the manufacture but I can tell you from experience that they’re much safer when anchored. Especially when empty if they’re not anchored the seat becomes a projectile that can turn a minor accident into a devastating event.
From all the edc content, I love that your channel has that special realistic vibe to it. That video was a lot of work, great job, even years later, i still enjoyed it
You should have carseat organizers for the front seats, and waterproofed bench seat cover for the back. The carseat organizers have super convenient, handy dandy pockets to stow your most important stuff at arm's reach.... And if you have normal kids, the "pet" cover will be invaluable, since it could be used as a stretcher to help extract an injured person from an accident. You could even make your own from a heavy duty canvas, with handles at the corners, with that use in mind. Just remember to stitch and glue around the slits for the seatbelt buckles.
I had one of those Gerber Gator machetes, it's really not the best, I got an Ontario which I think might have even been cheaper than the Gerber and it is so much better if you ever decide to upgrade. Cold Steel and Tramontina also makes ones that are supposed to be quite affordable and pretty good but I have not used either.
Was not expecting that at 2:27.... Started laughing out loud! Love the setup, ordering one of those fire bellow straws and big blue solar chargers! Definitely will be a great addition to the rig!
The only things I would add would be a small backpack and a vehicle fire extinguisher. The pack would free up your hands when you have to leave your vehicle with some gear. Another add would be some space/survival blankets and a 3 wick candle if you get stuck in winter.
Great loadout - i have most of these (aside from, luxury items) in a large backpack which we can move between vehicles and take travelling if we move away from the vehicle. This is a huge cache for criminals - all those items add up! Thanks for sharing.
23:36 ...Love that FAK with the List on Contents ...awesome job. Love how you collect all the Survival gear in your DIY survival Box (@24:49) has items from all kinds of brand companies. 😎👍👍
Great video! I especially like all of the useful gear that you fit into the ammo can. I am definitely going to put something like that into my vehicle.
I like re watching preparedness videos. Watched this again, I am glad I did. You always learn something. Now I will look for another 110V extension cord since I also have the built in power converter.
Im not knocking it or you. But the stuff you keep in your truck is probably worth more than my truck lol. Now what I keep in my car wifes car and my truck that you should think about is a slingshot with steel shot or the ceramic shot in case you need to get small game for food (plus it's fun to mess with) and also some food sowed away maybe granola bars pop tarts maybe a box or 2 of each and the kids would be happy. be safe and have fun
Matador and niteize have quickly risen to some of my most used, favorite durable gear. They just make an amalgamation of things that I use in my daily life.
Kevin and I just watched..we have camped for 20+ years and definitely would have used some of these items. We were camping the weekend of the 2010 flood and were going to stay but our pop up started to leak. We didn’t have anything to patch with so we came home. The one time where Being unprepared worked in our favor.
Wow man! Awsome! From the thumbnail I was excepting it all to be under a tauno cover or a in a tool box. Then saw it all come from the cab, safe from the weather and always locked up! Great job!
I got about the same stuff since in vehicle since 1980s---welcome to the fold--- my rules are 1 Good gear yes 2 Stuff you can actually use 3 Something that is a force multiplier 4 Stuff I cant beg borrow or steal in a regular scenario Only suggestions would be body armor, night vision, other than that--good to go----btw my vehicle is a Camry--so you don't need a biggin to haul all
Great video! I keep the same harbor freight tool kit in my truck. I have many of the same types of items along with a 72 hour backpack. I did a slightly different route in terms of setup though. Most of my gear is locked in a tote and cable tied in the bed of my truck. I have a locking cover and tailgate so it is all out of site. I keep a few edc items in the cubby and under the backseats. I also keep more tactical oriented gear along with urban survival equipment such as bolt cutters. Probably all overkill but lots of the items have come in very handy. You never know what life throws at you during the course of the day.
You just reminded me of something GIANT I left out... I meant to say that my fourth rule was wanting to leave my truck bed empty! I use my truck bed all the time to haul stuff like kayaks and kids gear, so I made it a personal goal to keep that area clear as kind of a game, haha. Sometimes I keep a bug out bag in mine too, but I moved to a mini kit I keep in my work backpack for now. We need a video of your truck!
@@AtHomeInTheFuture I just strap kayaks on top of my tri fold cover. Fortunately I only do that 2x a year anyhow. I get to store mine at the lake during kayak season. I may have to do a truck video one of these days. Tough to find that extra time... Mini kit is a great idea, I just prefer a backpack so my hands remain free for other tasks, also easier to run with a pack than carrying a box.
Good stuff, you sure have a lot tucked away in there. That medical kit is fairly complete and I know there is a tq in that kit, but it really doesn't look that great and I'd recommend picking up a CAT tourniquet or 2 (or just any tq recommended by TCCC). You can even get molle attachments for them to keep them with that bag. Ultimately massive hemorrhaging is maybe one of the more likely situations you'd come across (like a vehicle accident, or a bad accident with one of the several blades you have). So having a quality TQ you know how to use (even just youtube tutorials) is pretty important.
Loved the video. I like the many storage locations. I am always looking for ways to store items in my truck. I never thought to put an extension cord in the truck. Great idea! I have a tactile booster seat in my truck as well! Again, great video! I’ll continue to watch for future videos. Be well!
That's a nice amount of accoutrements you got. Change the truck to a 1 ton 4x4 and carry water. Lots of water. Maybe some SOS bars. Maybe upgrade some of the HB tools to a little more robust equipment.
You should keep the Lumina Aid light outside the box, e.g. on the dash, hanging somewhere, The whole point of them is that they continuously charge - which they can't do in the ammo can.
Nice reveal of your truck stuff. I got many ideas that I don't have in my car. But I think having a small bottle of soap, whether for dishes like that bucket and cup, or just cleaning up tools and wounded areas. Thats the only thing I can see missing. But other than that, seems like all bases are covered for camping or emergency situations. Awesome.
Love it man! Just a suggestion if you want more of a “crowbar with an edge” knife try one of the KA-BAR beckers, I have one in my car and it’s saved me so many times.
... just need to separate truck gear kit ,, from,, winter gear kit ... I think A lot of viewers are following winter emergency vehicle kits and see unneeded items for limited winter snow travel ....
Love the video! I too have lots of essentials tucked in spaces and cubbies in my Jeep Cherokee. I use my vehicle for work and sometimes I am 150 miles from home so I have most everything I think I need for survival if I become stranded or need to stop for the night. The Moon awning is so cool! Wonder if that would work on my Jeep? Stay prepared!
Do you have a winch on your truck? That's your first line of defence in an adventure. Also I would get rid of one of the machetes and replace it with a bolt cutter.
Great video I have a 17 f150 it has so much space. Now I have some great ideas how to fill it up. Don't know if you said you had any like quick non pershiable food in there or not. Would be good for kids i have 3 and they are always hungry. Wouldn't be good in a survival situation. Great job thought look forward to more videos.
There’s a shocking amount of room behind those seats, especially if you don’t have a sub. Yeah, I didn’t cover it, but I typically have at least a few bottles of water in there, and power bar style snacks. I’ve toyed with the idea of grabbing some DATREX and stowing it away for extreme emergencies. Open to ideas!
@@AtHomeInTheFuture yeah there really is this, is the best video I've seen for our truck. I'm just getting into being a little more prepared and this gave me tons of ideas. Glad I found your channel. Excited for the giveaway as well.
You have a lot of redundencies, which is fine... but that tiny survival guide could be part of your EDC, keep it in your wallet or on your phone case. I chose an suv cause it's more my size, and I can store emergency gear. I keep a few changes of clothes in a vacuum bag, and a small cooler with some water bottles and food. So if I ever need to bug out, I just need 5 min to grabbed a few things, and I'll be good for a few days.
You should change to a combination ferrorod and magnesium rod. You dont appear to carry any food bars, or mountain house type meals. What do you plan to do with your cook stove or use your eating utensils for if you have no food to cook?
I typically have food in my work bag, though not a large supply. I’ve thought about putting lifeboat rations in there so I don’t have to worry about even mountain house spoiling with high temps in the summer.
Just found you. Love the video quality and your clear concise explanation. You have a new subscriber. Looking forward to looking at your additional content! Great job!
This is a nice video for those like me who have no idea what to place in their car lol. I have a new Corolla hatchback (my first car) and this gives me some helpful ideas on what I can have in an emergency or when I head out to a specific place where I’ll be for an extended period of time.
Love the video! How about a fire extinguisher? Especially with so many fire starters in the truck! Looking forward to using these ideas in my new truck.
I actually found a quality exact clone of a Leatherman Raptor on line for cheap. I am an EMT and I cant bring myself to get a real Raptor. At $70.00 each, they grow legs when other EMS professionals see them, or you can lose them (like in the grass) on a trauma scene. Before I found the clone I would just use the cheap EMS penny cutting shears. It did not bother me when I lost a set once and a while.
In my armrest I like to keep a (tactical) flashlight, resqme window breaker, & self defense gel). Did I miss a whistle or goggles in this truck kit? Finally, I like to carry a small ball-air pump or at least a ball needle :)
@@AtHomeInTheFuture i did too (with combo battery powered air compressor & jump starter). I also found some squareish, type of packs that I get to utilize the under seat(s) of our vehicles. I also store stuff in the spare wheel well area (crossover suv). I did take away a lot of good ideas from your video!
Great video!, I got a question regarding the truck awning. Why that over a normal one? It only saves two legs and you lose the ability to get in the truck and drive away. I've always wondered the same thing about those truck top tents. If you are camping and someone wants to make a quick trip to go grab something from a store for example you're kinda completely hosed. Growing up doing a ton of camping/hiking/mountain biking ect... There have been several times where we have needed to take someone to urgent care for stitches, ect... But it could be something more serious, I would have to assume adding on several minutes to get the truck ready to drive in those situations would not be ideal. That's just a kinda serious thought I've had but also you lose the ability to position the campsites how you want, and all that stuff that attaches to the truck is generally way more expensive then normal tents, ect... They didn't have this stuff when I was younger so we never had these issues but I'm generally curious! Not trying to start an argument. Sorry for the long winded question.
For me, the MoonShade takes up a ton less space than a traditional awning, and attaching to the truck is easier to anchor than finding level ground for the normal one and doing all of the tie downs. That’s just my experience with it, though.
It was refreshing seeing how much stuff can be packed away while also still functioning as a family vehicle. I loved how you couldnt tell how much stuff was in it from first glance
Thanks Gabe. Yeah, that’s a big part of my strategy
I don’t know what impressed me more the amount of stuff in your truck or the fact you know the name of everything
Weird like that :-)
I thought it was a bit strange that he had an emergency monocle 🧐
Only thing I think was missing is a fire extinguisher - those can save yours or a bystander’s life

Haven’t thought of trying them on top of my cover; I’ll have to try that.
Good feedback Danny. Thanks!
After watching this video, I added a few more things to my track. Great job.
Awesome; what did you pick up?
One of the best over all compact stuff I've seen in one collection, lots of cool ideas...
Hey thanks a ton!
Loved the video. I like the many storage locations. I am always looking for ways to store items in my truck. I never thought to put an extension cord in the truck. Great idea! I have a tactile booster seat in my truck as well! Again, great video! I’ll continue to watch for future videos. Be well!
Thanks Carl! Keeping it all hidden is the trick :-)
That's a nice amount of accoutrements you got. Change the truck to a 1 ton 4x4 and carry water. Lots of water. Maybe some SOS bars. Maybe upgrade some of the HB tools to a little more robust equipment.
Fantastic setup . I LOVE the way to keep it all hidden ! A lot of lowlife people like to snoop around vehicles at night .
Yeah, the fact that no one knows it’s in there is my fav part
You should keep the Lumina Aid light outside the box, e.g. on the dash, hanging somewhere, The whole point of them is that they continuously charge - which they can't do in the ammo can.
Hey there Eric. Great video! I like the addition of the Moonshade Awning, and the ENO Doublenest Hammock to your Truck EDC... They come in very handy.
I use that Eno all the time.
1. Item that saved my bacon one night, bolt cutters. Get the biggest ones you can either afford or you think you can pack inside your truck.
Yeah, I’ve been trying to figure out the right size pair to add
Thanks for taking the time to put the brand of all the stuff . Very helpful!
No prob - did that because I wish other vids did that when I watched, haha
Nice reveal of your truck stuff. I got many ideas that I don't have in my car. But I think having a small bottle of soap, whether for dishes like that bucket and cup, or just cleaning up tools and wounded areas. Thats the only thing I can see missing. But other than that, seems like all bases are covered for camping or emergency situations. Awesome.
Great idea
I drive an F150. 1996/w less than 100 k miles. Absolutely. Love it. I can see I need to add about 10 dozen items. Most of which Ibalready have.
Awesome! It’s a fun project
Great video buddy! I didn’t see too much emergency food hidden away in case SHTF. Need to stock up my own vehicle now. Thanks!
I normally always have snacks of some sort. I’ve thought about putting lifeboat food in there since it does well in all temperatures.
Nice Video. Agreed 100% on the Husky vs. WeatherTech. I've used both and Husky are far superior.
Tons better
Great stuff! I'm going to see what my car will hold/hide tomorrow. Thanks!
everything is literally brand new or still in its packaging 😂
Great video, finally found a video like this, totally think the same way with my truck and gear, glad to have found this channel
Yes! Glad to see someone else who is like minded
Thanks for all the great ideas. Love watching what people keep in their vehicles.
It’s a fun obsession for sure
Great and helpful video and love love that you keep God’s Word in your vehicle.
Most important thing in there!
That's what impressed me the most!😇. That, and how clean he keeps his vehicle, in spite of toting small kiddies around! Mind-blowing!🤯
Love it man! Just a suggestion if you want more of a “crowbar with an edge” knife try one of the KA-BAR beckers, I have one in my car and it’s saved me so many times.
I love your set up. Keep up the great work. God bless you and your family
I enjoy your channel. And I loved the random peacock that peeked in during your introductory comments.
Few people ever mention the peacock! Thanks for watching
That’s crazy all that in your truck. I’m going to copy you. Thanks for sharing
Haha, please do!
Awesome video. I’m guessing you have a separate video on your EDC firearm?
You sure have a lot of stuff in one truck.I have more rope and pear a cord .but sure gave me some good ideals for the future. Thank you
help. what is pear a cord? should i get some right away? or can it wait.
I am a new prepper! Thank you for all the ideas. I can use those goodies.
You’re welcome :-) hope you got some fun ideas
As an overlander I'm more surprised at the comments surprised by the gear you have in your truck.
Haha, right?
... just need to separate truck gear kit ,, from,, winter gear kit ...
Awesome! High five on the prepped out rig :-)
The HF crowbar is actually pretty decent. I've beat the crap out of mine with hammers, and have never had an issue.
I found it interesting and a great source of information. Hope to see more of your here.
Do you have a winch on your truck? That's your first line of defence in an adventure. Also I would get rid of one of the machetes and replace it with a bolt cutter.
Not yet, but I would love to add one to the mix
I've been eyeing a lot of this stuff on Amazon for my car. Glad to know they're useful
And I'm surprised there's no guns
Just not kept in the car :-)
Great job!
Glad to have you!
Big truck👍nice and yes tucked away 👏🏻
This is a nice video for those like me who have no idea what to place in their car lol. I have a new Corolla hatchback (my first car) and this gives me some helpful ideas on what I can have in an emergency or when I head out to a specific place where I’ll be for an extended period of time.
Congrats on the new ride! I’d maybe start with a first aid kit and work your way up from there.
Wow! Great video! Explained simple and well for the layman. I really like how most of your stuff in concealed unlike some EDC bug out vehicle videos.
Glad you dig it; yeah, I wanted to build it out in a way that the car was still 100% useful and I didn’t look like a crazy person :-)
Praise Jesus. Great set up, definitely referring to this kit when I pack my van. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Love the video! How about a fire extinguisher? Especially with so many fire starters in the truck! Looking forward to using these ideas in my new truck.
I’ve always been nervous about storing anything with compressed gas in there because of the heat, but prob need to add one. Congrats on the new ride!
Great video. I have been trying to get ideas on what to have in my truck. Thank you for your recommendations.
Hope you got some good ideas.
I like your edc gears. You have really quality things. In general quality things are expensive! 👍👍👍
I always keep a set of wipers cause they always break when it’s raining!
Good idea!
I subscribed when you said you used one of the pens to write in your Bible btw. God bless brother
do the pens write upside down?
I actually found a quality exact clone of a Leatherman Raptor on line for cheap. I am an EMT and I cant bring myself to get a real Raptor. At $70.00 each, they grow legs when other EMS professionals see them, or you can lose them (like in the grass) on a trauma scene. Before I found the clone I would just use the cheap EMS penny cutting shears. It did not bother me when I lost a set once and a while.
Well what a smart idea I have a 2002 jeep liberty but not a ton of space however this has inspired me to do some like this thank you
Look at the decked system. Just got one and wow!
Yeah, I keep hearing I need to check Decked out :-)
Cammo blanket is called a woobie, cuz you would be (woobie) cold without it.
I use to have in my motorbike Several of the things you carry on in your 4x4.... 👍
In my armrest I like to keep a (tactical) flashlight, resqme window breaker, & self defense gel). Did I miss a whistle or goggles in this truck kit? Finally, I like to carry a small ball-air pump or at least a ball needle :)
Goggles and a whistle are both in various kits in the truck. Just added a battery powered air pump a few weeks ago 💪🏻
Lots of good ideas to consider, thanks. I think the gear in your truck is worth more than my whole truck though!
Tourniquet!!!!! 2 of them readily available
Great load out and video!! Well done!
Hey thanks!
Dude that’s impressive!!!! Definitely going to use this video every time before leaving to camping lol
Check out Silky saws for you next portable saw. They are next level for cutting/bushcraft and survival. 👍🏾
