The original Randazzo's, called HI-Lan Bakery, started in Violet, Louisiana after Hurricane Betsy in 1965. It was operated by Lawrence Randazzo with brothers Manuel and Anthony and their father, Sam, in a dance hall on Goodchildren street (now Judge Perez Drive).
I know you llike road trips so how about Meche's Donuts in New Iberia Louisiana.

Personally I prefer Nonna Randazzos. It’s more moist and “cinnamony” in a bag that comes in a box. Or Marguerites. It comes in a bag but SO worth trying! Thee heavenly donut in baton rouge or Oak Point grocery store in Denham Springs

I haven't yet. We did get a bunch if their Christmas stuff and Hot Chocolate b0mb$. Really good.
