    Don’t be surprised when he ends up being the best QB out of this class. Time is the teller of all.

      I predicted on the Quora App that Patrick Mahomes would be 2018's breakout QB. Viewing college tape Ridder was the one in last year's draft that looked the part.

    Willis is still at the top of my board for the Steelers, doing what he did with the lack of talent around him. But Ridder is my second for the same reason, only reason for that is his frame scares me

    Hoping he’s there still in the 2nd round (#40) when the Seahawks pick again. I think he would do really well in a run first offense like what Pete Carroll has ran over the years. It would take a lot of the pressure off of him to not have to throw 35 times a game and his mobility would play well in that style of offense. I’m a believer in this kid and I would love to see him wearing a Seahawks jersey next season.

    To be fair, if you're gonna mention dude went 44-5 as a selling point, you also have to mention only 9 of those were P5 teams. He went 1-3 against ranked P5 teams, and he did nothing special against Bama (2021), Indiana (2021), BC (2019), OSU (2019), and VT (2018). Another fair point: his teams weren't as talented as higher ranked P5 teams, though.

    • @davidwillis8623

      Football is a game of matchups, was the talent on Ridder’s team not up to the task? The whole team was outclassed by Alabama (based on concentration of high end players) not that Ridder isn’t necessarily good

  • @pauliej345
    @pauliej345 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the Ridder pick to the Falcons was a bad landing spot for him and in some ways a bad pick for the team is that the Falcons are going to be bad and picking high again next year and in a loaded QB class are probably going to take a QB high. that leaves Ridder in a tough spot and leaves the Falcons without a player that they could have drafted in round 3 that could have been competing for a starting job on a weak roster.

    • @docsmalls3916
      @docsmalls3916 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The falcons drafted him in the 3rd round. So if he doesn't pan out, no big deal. He will have the best chance to start and showcase his talent in Atlanta with Arthur Smith.

    • @docsmalls3916
      @docsmalls3916 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The falcons had 7 wins with that roster and got a lot bigger at WR to pair with Kyle Pitts 😳

    I mean what they say about him is exactly what he is. If you could get KC version of Alex Smith or TN Titans version of Ryan Tannehill on a rookie contract you’d take that in a heart beat… well, that’s Desmond Ridder’s floor.
    He’s a better athlete than both of them and has a stronger arm.

      Plenty of coaches, GMs and scouts either weren’t that good or didn’t play in the NFL, Byron Leftwich was never a good QB in the NFL yet he’s the next upcoming Offensive Coordinator…

      @@davidwillis8623 Trent Dilfer can talk up QBs all day even though he's been a game manager for most of his career, but no one bats an eyelash because: ring. Same could be said of Billick the coach of that Super Bowl team; got his gig from running those prolific Viking offenses of the late 90's, but it was the Defense that will be forever remembered about his regime.

      Ever heard the saying "Those who can't do, teach."
      Its not a slight at teachers or professors.
      It's simply saying, anyone has the capability to acquire knowledge.
      Achieving something with that knowledge is a different story.
      If everyone on earth were Einstein, nobody would be.
      If every football player was as accurate as Aaron Rogers, no QB would be elite.
      For the guys that put in the same work, and acquire the same knowledge, but don't have that extra bit of talent to be one of the 32 best QBs in the world, they go put their knowledge to use elsewhere.
      Dan might not have been a winning QB, but he has the knowledge of one. Just like everyone else in the league.
      They all know the game. They can all read defenses.
      Some are able to win a superbowl with that knowledge.
      Others use that knowledge to teach.

      @@prophetmaster4997 other then accuracy, he is great in every other department. If he takes a year to develop behind mariota and work on his accuracy and ball placement, he will be unstoppable.

    This QB class is mid. I think Sam Howell has the highest ceiling in this class (Baker Mayfield) and that’s not saying much.
