    Thank you so much Rachel!
    I was planning further studies in Canada but it was big challenging to me… And can’t decide to move on.
    Luckily I watched this blog few days ago and your words “Invest in Knowledge” gave me lot of courage. That’s not my first time hearing those words but your words came to me at the right time when I desperately need it.
    I flashed back all the investments that I did wrongly and fear gone… decided to come Canada by any means. Just in past week, I have done a lot of your vlogs and it is feeding me very useful information.
    Thanks Rachel again and see you soon in Canada 💕💕💕

      From my experience working in US and Canada, this is what happens with higher education. With a Master degree, you may get a small advantage in getting hired and salary in your first job. Afterwards, employers just look at your experience; master degree becomes less important over time. With PhD, there are less jobs available. Employers are hesitant to hire you because you could be underemployed and won't stay long. In US, many foreign students hang around for PhD with F1 Visa because they could not find a US job offer. F1 visa allows foreign students to stay in US to study.

      In Ontario, High School students graduate in Grade 12. In Quebec, High School students graduate in Grade 11, followed by 2 years of CEPEG (college). University programs in Quebec are advertised as 3 years (6 semesters) but most students need to do 7 semesters. Some transfer students from Ontario to Quebec may have to take extra classes at university's discretion.

    Hi! I have several questions, planning to DIY for student visa pathway:
    1. Do I need a high GPA back in undergraduate studies in my home country in order to qualify for admissions for Masters degree in Canadian universities?
    2. How did you convert your Philippine Grading Scale (5-pt. scale) to Canadian GPA scale?
    3. I’m kinda confused between Diploma and Graduate Certificate. What’s the difference? Which one should I get if I finished my Bachelor’s degree here in the Philippines so that it will not be hard to explain in my study plan that the reason that I took the program is to further advance my studies.
    4. What if my vaccine was not listed on the approved vaccines in Canada? Do I need to get vaccinated again to their recommended vaccine brand?
    5. Since I am a Civil Engineer here in the Philippines and planning to take a program related to my bachelor’s degree, I am curious if I study Construction Management at Nova Scotia (for example) will I be eligible to apply jobs after graduation to Ontario? Since when I reviewed the curriculum there are specific subjects that are only applicable to Nova Scotia (like the Building Codes) I think it’s actually different in every provinces so I want to clarify this before I decide on which school is suitable for me.
    Hope you can help me. God bless!

      I can try and answer few of your questions.
      1.) The higher the better syempre but most of canadian universities is very expensive. I suggest na mag postgrad ka muna sa mga colleges and then get pr then get your masters. Pero if you have the resources naman, you can still try to apply. Also most of them require gmat for a masters degree program which costs probably around 10k pesos. Check their site nandon naman usually infos nila.
      2.) If you want to convert your grades, may tinatawag sila na WES you can google it for more information. Some schools require it some don’t kaya check nalang din sa school.
      3.) A diploma is something canadians take after their higschool. Ang post graduate cert naman is something they take after college.
      4.) i heard may booster shots naman na pero i am not really sure about this topic.
      5.) Mas safe if sa same province ka naden magaral kung san mo gusto magwork. Iba kase lamig sa canada eh kaya iba rin yung protocol nila depende sa weather ng state.

      @smwk2017 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are a Civil Engineer, you will need to be licensed with PEO as P.Eng eventually. To obtain P.Eng license, you will need to work a few years in Ontario in your engineering field and pass an exam, provided they accept your educational credential. If you have a Master degree in Engineering from an accredited Canadian university, I don't think you will have any problem.

    Hi dear
    I need your help plz plz
    My sister applied for stduy visa for this jan 2022 and as processing is very slow,they just asked for the passport for the visa stamping and she got the date for vfs to send her passport is for dec 24.and according to agent they said they take min 14 days to send the pssport back.in that case she wont be able to attend the class and as i talked to the clz they said late arrival is bot allowed so only option is deferal.her course is not available for may intake so for sep its gonna be very late. In that case can she defer to different course for may?there wont be any issue in the airport during issuing her study permit?????or is it worthy to wait for sep????? I believe they normally give visa for 1 year and if they give in jan it will be for until next jan so it means she can fly to canada for sep intake if she defers the course for sep as long as visa is valid????i really need your suggestion.i am really stressed

      Because of pandemic, workers have been working at home and interact with each other through Microsoft Teams and WebEx. Companies realize that they don't need workers in Canada physically; they can work in places like India, Costa Rica, Mexico, etc. Pandemic accelerates the pace of outsourcing. If you become PR in Canada, Health Care will be a growth area. Unlike US, Canada does not have a big defense budget; defense industry is highly unstable. Computer science, IT, engineering, proposal, payroll, and accounting are outsourced in big corporations. Salesman and field service engineers are required.

    • @smwk2017
      @smwk2017 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn't hurt to try; but you need good financial support. I have seen this example. One Chinese family moved to US to study, with kids enrolled in "free" US public elementary and high school. Then they had to return home. Their children won't be able to fit in (language, curriculum, scientific terminology, culture, etc.)

    Interesting. what are the top universities in Canada and how was the job market there?

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The top 3 that I can think of is UBC, UofT and McGill. The job market has gotten a lot better as unemployment rate is quite low.

    • @smwk2017
      @smwk2017 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just be careful when you try McGill. McGill is one of the oldest universities in Canada. It is located in Montreal, Quebec. Quebec is a French province. Say you study Commerce, Montreal employers would want to hire someone who is bilingual (speaking English and French). Similarly, if you want to become Professional Engineer or Registered Nurse in Quebec, you will need to pass a French language test.

    • @rrdancel

      Oooh that’s a tough one, what province are you aiming for?

    • @smwk2017
      @smwk2017 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Canada has a bottleneck in turning out health care workers; not because of lack of enrollment, but due to limited staff and training facilities. In US universities, they publish statistics of nursing students who pass their licensing exam NCLEX in the first try. This may give you a sense of the school quality. Not sure if Canada does that. Just be careful about Quebec because of its French language requirement for Registered Nurses and Doctors.

    I saw comments from the pages I’m following that there’s a new rule right now that SP should be the main applicant in applying for a PR even if the OWP is able able to get a skilled work because they said that this is getting abused, there are OWPs getting PR approved and SP no longer continues their studies which is the main reason why they were able to enter Canada. Appreciate if you can shed light on this for everyones knowledge. Thanks, great contents by the way.

    Hi Rachel
    I'm so grateful for this amazing video 🤩🤩
    And I have one question, so u sad that we can work 20 hours out of the campus ,and unlimitedly work on the campus
    So the question is " can we work out of the campus 20 hours per week and also work o the campus, is it legal?"

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not read any restrictions with your proposed plan. However, I don't think its practically possible. You will work 20 hours off campus and 40 hours on campus and you have another 30 hours of school work. You won't have any time left over to do anything.
      Those are just my 2 cents.

    Please can someone really explain to me of what value is the Ontario College Graduate Certificate? Because I plan on applying to Centennial College & Seneca College … and I wanted to go for a Master’s degree but these colleges don’t give that degree for my program.

      My recommendation is to skip the certificate and do a Master degree. Most employers do not value certificates that much.

      Canada is a large country. Each province is different. British Columbia is beautiful; weather is mild (although heat wave in summer last couple of years). Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba are similar; winter is very cold. Ontario is unique; with Toronto being the most populous city. Quebec is French. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland are maritime provinces; they share similar values. I group them into 5 distinct areas. I don't recommend going to Yukon, Northwest Territory, and Nunavut (unless you like outdoor and the wild).

    Hello Rachel Dancel,
    Question, If I'm currently studying here in canada for my 1yr. Program and graduated and take again another 1yr. Program, is it possible to have 3yrs. PGWP?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is definitely possible. However, there are usually issues with time line, length of 2nd program, and also immigration (study permit extension, PGWP requirements and other issues) as well. If you need some guidance you can send an email to rrdancel@canxvisa.com.
      All the best.
