    [1]Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
    [2]Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
    [3]For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

    Though Thomas Edison is usually credited as the man who invented the lightbulb, the famous American inventor wasn't the only one who contributed to the development of this revolutionary technology. Alessandro Volta, Humphrey Davy, and Joseph Swan played a critical role in the development of this technology.

    Love it! Could you PLEASE debunk the 3 kings myth! There were 3 different kinds of gifts, but they were "wise men" - scientists of their time, and numerous enough to disturb "all of Jerusalem" (Matthew 2:3) (they wouldn't have travelled without servants and basically a small army, as they were bringing enough gifts fit for a future king...). They were not at the manger in Bethlehem; by the time they reached Jesus, he was a "child", living in a house (Matthew 2:11)... I could go on... it's one of my pet peeves of nativity scenes! ;-)

      Your quote seems a little short and therefore with little meaning. Let me help:
      10, 1 Hear what the Lord says to you, people of Israel.
      2 This is what the Lord says:
      “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified by them.
      3 For the practices of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
      4 They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.
      5 Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak;
      they must be carried because they cannot walk.
      Do not fear them;
      they can do no harm
      nor can they do any good.”
      Any questions?

      Most of us seem to ignore that the Ecumenical Council was in Eastern Rome (Turkey today) and not near Rome City in Italy.
      Also when a scoffer says Constantine and the Nicean bishops chose Dec 25 because of Sol Ivicus or Saturnalia, remind them that Orthodox Christmas (eastern rome and palestine) was set on Jan 6.... And watch the dropped jaw. Just deflates their whole strawman.
      You don't even have to point out Saturnalia was not on Dec 25 and Sol Ivicus Day was earlier too.

    Christmas tree?

    • @STho205
      @STho205 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm surprised he didn't do it, but it has christian origins too. The pagan ones were mostly imagined in the 19th century by Scrougey dissenter protestants and fraud spiritualists like Gerald Massey.
      You know the tree in Charlie Brown represents Jesus Christ in the story context.

  • @SAM-gy7ep
    @SAM-gy7ep 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    All this is great stuff. I love Christmas and etc.
    But I'm learning Christmas isn't real.
    Jesus was never born on December 25th.
    And the list goes on and on. ☹

    Jeremiah 10:1 Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel.
    :2 This says the Lord:
    Do not learn the way of the heathen;
    do not be troubled at the signs of heaven,
    For the Gentiles are troubled at them.
    :3 For the customs of the peoples are useless; for one cuts a tree from the forest,

    :4 They decorate it with silver and gold;

      He created, patented and marketed the first usable and disposable consumer bulb. Electric lights had been around for decades, but it is hard to light your kitchen or study with a carbon arc lamp, or a filament light that burned out every few minutes.
      Don't overthink it with minutia.
