The significance in meaning of the swaddling cloth is missed by many. This fabric wasn't discarded waste material or feed sack cloth. It had a specific meaning and purpose. The cloth was used to swaddle, protect, and maintain the pristine precious sacrificial lamb offerings. The first human eyes to see the baby were that of lowly shepherds who instantly correlated the significance in that very cloth. Confirmation and witness so substantial found in the arrival of the NEW LAMB, the NEW BORN KING. GLORY GLORY GLORY!

Could you tell me where you got this info? I heard this and that the swaddling cloth was made by the engaged woman as a symbol of two households joining and would have the signs of the two households embroidered on it. I need to research both but thought you might have a direction to point me in.

One of the few presentations I completely agree with.
The word "Magi" could be a shortening of the word magician. They could also have been astrologers, ie "wise men" since they had realized the importance of what they read in old recordings and what they saw in the heavens, so they acted upon it with true hearts. Once they arrived at Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary had found a house to stay in and Jesus was possibly just barely walking by then, because he was called a "young child," not a baby. Matthew 2:7-11 The star mentioned must have been a shining angel, since astrological stars do not appear in our air or move about as this "star" did. In the reference given, in verse 9, "...went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was."
May God bless and keep you ever seeking for truths He has to share with us all.

I believe, most likely, it was the Father that moved the magi to go great distance to present the gifts, which would have equated to a very large sum of money - which, interestingly enough, would completely finance Joseph and Mary's stay in Egypt after fleeing with the baby. In other words, God saw far in advance that Herod would work to kill the baby, and thus, Herod's plan being thwarted by the Father through the presentation of gifts that would allow for financial safe-keeping in a land where poor Joseph and Mary would need to live until Herod died.

The shepherds in the Luke narrative were special shepherds, as they cared for the temple lambs, those who were destined for sacrifice. They were kept in Bethlehem, about 5 miles from the temple in Jerusalem. Jesus was most likely born in the "Tower of the flock", "Migdal Eder" in Hebrew (Micah 4:8), where the sacrificial lambs were born. He was not born surrounded by dirty animals in a common stable. The tower of the flock would have been clean, and the lambs born in this location were also wrapped in swaddling cloths at birth. These lambs had to be perfect, no injuries, none of their bones could be broken. They were handled with great care by these very special shepherds. The "sign" the angel gave the shepherds was very specific and stated that they would find the newborn Messiah wrapped in swaddling cloths. These shepherds thus knew exactly where to find Him, and the Scriptures tell us that they "made haste" to find him. They would not have been searching every single stable on a wild goose chase.
It is also very possible that the gifts that the magi (there were likely many more than three, and they would have traveled with an armed contingent for protection) were left as an inheritance for the Messiah of Israel by Daniel the prophet. Daniel had no heirs (he was a eunuch), and would have been a wealthy man by the time of his death. Daniel was given probably one of the most important prophcies concerning the Messiah in the entire Bible, the 70 weeks prophecy. In Daniel 10, we read twice that Daniel was "greatly loved", "highly esteemed" by God. And in Matthew 24, Jesus commands us to read and understand Daniel. This command was given in the context of Jesus warning to not be deceived. When Jesus commands us to do something, it isn't an option.

Yes. Daniel may also have set aside the gifts for the Messiah. After all, he had no heirs (he was a eunuch), and would have been very wealthy at the end of his life.

A Blessed Christmas Day to Everyone!!! 🙏
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
    -John 1:14
“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
    -2 Corinthians 9:18
“He’s the King of the Jews
    He’s the King of Israel
    He’s the King of Righteousness
He’s the King of the Ages
    He’s the King of Heaven
    He’s the King of Glory
    He’s the King of Kings
and He is the Lord of Lords
    Do you know Him?
    He’s the wellspring of wisdom
    He’s the doorway of deliverance
    He’s the pathway of peace
    He’s the roadway of righteousness
    He’s the highway of holiness
    He’s the gateway of glory
He’s the master of the mighty
He’s the captain of the conquerors
He’s the head of the heroes
He’s the leader of the legislators
He’s the overseer of the overcomers
    He’s the governor of governors
    He’s the prince of princes
    He’s the King of Kings
And He’s the Lord of Lords
    That’s my King
    Do you know Him?”
    His Name is Yeshua… Jesus!
If you do not know the LORD, please do not wait another moment...
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
    -2 Corinthians 6:2
None of us knows how long we have on this earth. The only opportunity we are guaranteed to have is right now...
    A: Admit you have Sinned

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
    -Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
    -Romans 6:23
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
    -1 John 1:9
It is tough to admit that we are wrong. Even before God, we feel we are basically good, and we would like to think we are never as bad as some... we are ALL sinners and can never be good enough to earn our own way to heaven. Jesus spoke to the scribes and Pharisees saying,
“Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?”
    -Matthew 23:33
They believed that faithfully following rituals and traditions would get them into heaven. We are all like those scribes and Pharisees when we believe we can save ourselves by good works or following religious rituals and traditions. That path takes us to one place only... hell!
Please listen, there is a way...
    The ONLY WAY...
B: Believe in Jesus our Savior

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
    -John 3:16-17
“So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
    -Acts 16:31
“And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the Name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.”
    -1 John 3:23
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” -Ephesians 2:8-9
    Salvation is not complicated.
Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
    - Mark 10:15
A child simply puts their trust (faith) in their parents protective arms. Likewise, we entrust our life to Jesus our Savior, believing on Him and His finished work on the cross. The Apostle Paul defined the message of the Gospel (good news) like this-
“...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”
    - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Jesus, the perfect, sinless lamb, the Son of God, laid down His life and took the death penalty meant for us, dying in our place (read Isaiah 53:6). He paid the debt we could not pay and redeemed us (bought us back) from the power of sin and death. (read John 1:29 / Galatians 3:13 / Romans 3:25)
C: Confess Jesus is Lord and Savior
“...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
    -Romans 10:9-10
“The LORD is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
    -2 Peter 3:9
God fulfilled His promise, sending His one and only Son to die in our place. He has offered us the most precious gift-salvation, the forgiveness of sin, eternal life with Him in heaven. BUT…we must receive that gift. We must confess our sins (read 1 John 1:9 ) and proclaim our faith (belief) in the death, burial and resurrection of God’s only begotten son, our Savior Jesus. Confessing with our mouth requires an outward, public action, not a secret, hidden, timid faith. The Apostle Paul boldly proclaimed his faith so that others could hear and be saved. God’s plan of salvation is freely offered to everyone.
If you are not familiar with prayer, it is simply talking to God openly and honestly.
Remember, the Bible says we are saved by grace through faith. God sees our heart. We are not saved by simply saying some special words in a formal prayer. We are saved when we reach out by faith, admit our sin, repenting from believing our actions save us to belief in Jesus and His sacrifice for us, confessing Him as our Lord and Savior. Saving faith produces a forever changed life.
The Bible is God’s message to us. It’s readily available even online. Please read it.
Your death penalty has been paid- you have been pardoned...
The choice is yours to accept it or not. We’re all headed to one of two places - heaven or hell. Will you please accept the LORD’s gift of love today?
“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
    - Luke 15:10

Thank you for saying the Wise men did not visit the baby in a manger. The bible is clear they found Jesus as a child in a house with his mother. It is clear they saw the star in the east and knew Jesus was a King. Harod asked the wise men how long they followed the star (their response was not recorded) but due to their response Harod killed all of the babies 2 years and under. So the wise men were following the star for up to two years.

It's actually a common practice in Asia Minor and Persia to wrap babies in swaddling clothes - it emulates the feeling of the baby being in the womb so they feel more secure, warm and comfortable so they don't cry!
He was actually born in a cave and laid to sleep in a manger - the feeding trough for sheep and cattle, and that cave was near 'Shepherd's field' where Levite (the tribe of priests) shepherds raised sacrificial lambs, sheep and goats to be sold 'money changed' into sacrifices in the Temple for the atonement of sins!

It is much more than the dominant narratives of the religious scholars and the political/philosophical minds had conjured. His obscured appearance remains hidden from them and can only be seen by “the wise”. Legend has it that there were more than three. Nevertheless , the written account of the three symbolism are vital in understanding the purpose of his conception. While the world, religious(of abrahamic roots) and political, has been beguiled by idolatry, the obscured existence of the saviour remains hidden in the..winds.
Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
What had been written speaks of his obscured appearance in due season. And he shall be imperceptible, and inconceivable ,to the religious/idolatrous(of the abrahamic roots)

We don't know when Jesus was born. Certainly not in December as it's too cold for lambs to be out in the fields. Also the wise men came several months after his birth as Mary and Joseph were in a house by then. After that they went to Egypt.

WHEN IS THE REAL BIRTHDAY OF OUR LORD JESUS ?
      Luke 2:11
“For unto you is born THIS DAY in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
      King James Version (KJV)
While Christians are universally aware that December 25th is not the date of Christ's birth, few seem to realise that we ARE actually told in Scripture WHEN it did take place . . . in Luke Chapter 1, Verse 26
      Luke 1:26, 27
“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.”
The angel Gabriel came to Miriam in ‘THE’ sixth month [in the Biblical Hebrew Calendar that would be late August- early September] and she conceived at that time [when her cousin Elizabeth was in HER sixth month of pregnancy] so that nine months later Yeshua was in all likelihood born at Passover since He came as the Passover Lamb to be the fulfilment of the Passover Lamb.
NB: The NIV and NLT Bibles change ‘in the sixth month’ ... to ... ‘in Her cousin Elizabeth’s sixth month of pregnancy’ WHICH IS NOT WHAT THE WORD SAYS
Moreover the shepherds of Bethlehem would have at that time been watching over their flocks by night because it was lambing season. It was Spring. The fact that all lambs born in Bethlehem were solely for the purpose of sacrifice at the Temple in nearby Jerusalem made it even more significant and appropriate that the LAMB OF GOD that takes away the sin of the world - John 1:29 - should also be born there. It also explains why the shepherds should rightly be the first to be told of the birth of our Passover Lamb - Jesus Christ.
NB: The NIV and NLT Bibles change ‘in the sixth month’ ... to ... ‘in Her cousin Elizabeth’s sixth month of pregnancy’ WHICH IS NOT WHAT THE WORD SAYS
If He were born at Passover being the Passover Lamb, His life would have been exactly 33 years
One year in four the 360 day year Hebrew Calendar has 13 months.
We don’t know which year that occurred and we don’t know exactly which year Jesus was born since Herod reputedly died in 4 BC. But since Jesus was born in *Bethlehem in the Spring and is called Our Passover Lamb [1 Corinthians 5:7] it is most likely He was born on Passover.
Which would mean His birth and death occurred on the same day. His age being 33 and His ministry 3 years.
*All the flocks in Bethlehem were bred specifically to supply the lambs required for sacrifice in the Temple close by in Jerusalem
      ************
There is also the lesser possibility He was born 50 days later at PENTECOST/ SHAVUOT. Depending on the Hebrew year being 12 or 13 months that year. adding a 13th month at intervals of 2-3 years.Adar II
Since Yeshua's first coming fulfilled the Four Spring Feasts, and His second coming will fulfil the three Fall Feasts, this would also make sense. It would mean if He were born on Shavuot that God who is the embodiment of Three (the Trinity) gave the LAW, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT on the same day; the Feast of Pentecost.

We celebrate a birth not date.
The date really has no significance BUT I’m glad it is the last month of the year because that’s an ideal time to turn a new leaf on life by receiving the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
We don’t know how many magi were there but
we know there were three very valuable gifts. Gold Frankenstein, myrrh and their significance.
    Amazing.
There were many celebrations in the Bible.
    Let’s celebrate the wonder of
    Christ mass.
The tree in which he was crucified.
The lights - Jesus is the light of the world.
The gifts Jesus the gift that keeps in giving.

No we celebrate 25th December because that was when Our Lord was actually born according to Roman Records and the traditions handed down from Mary (who would have known!) to the apostles down through the apostolic tradition and then the church fathers. There are also independent historical documents from as early as 202AD that support this date.

On August 23, 2018; I DISCOVERED THAT HALLEY´S COMET IS THE STAR OF BETHLEHEM. in my "Colombian Arithmetic Reconciliation Between History and Astronomy" in excel, I discovered that:
    1) Halley's comet is the same Biblical Star of Bethlehem.
    2) After the year 1066 A.D., there is an error (8 years extra). The year 1986 was really 1978 A.D., and the year 2018 was really the year 2010 A.D.
    3) The German version of Ghost Time, which says that 297 false years were added to history during the period (614 - 911 AD) is not correct because during that time there were historic sightings of Halley's comet (837 A.D.,sighted during the reign of Ludovico Pío or Louis the Pious, and was reported by a chronicler nicknamed "The Astronomer" ), and there is no remainder of 297 years either.
Going back in time with periods of 76.03 years, since 1066 when William the Conqueror spotted the comet, I found that the Halley's comet had its perihelion in year 1 of the Christian era and in the year 837 a.D., in the time of King Louis I. We are currently in the year 2024, however really this is the year 2016 a. D., because there is an error (eight-years) in the allocations of historical dates in the first 8 years, it may be because dates were always calculated based on periods of 75 or 76 years, but the exact period of Halley 's comet is 76.03 years, accumulating 8 years, or perhaps because at some point after the year 1066 AD, historians noticed that there is an error (8 years) in the assignment of historical events during the first 8 years of the Christian era and possibly those historians (clerics) thought that the error could be corrected by adding 8 years, but that was not the correct solution, It is necessary to relocate the assignment of historical events during the first 8 years. Whatever it may have been, after the year 1066 A.D., there are 8 extra years until today 2024 A.D (2016 years since the birth of Jesus The Messiah)

B.Walker5955. Good comment. Two interesting historical and Biblical observations:
    1) Joseph and Mary's (and others in the caravan) trek to hometown Bethlehem was not pretty. It was 40 miles, on foot, over rocky ground, through a desert and took several days. Travelers often died along the way. So, the caravans brought strips of cloth, aka rags, to wrap the corps for burial, along the way. Baby Jesus' "swadling clothes" was likely these strips of burial cloth. His "manger" was actually a stone feeding trough and the location was a cave not a stable. Thus, Jesus entered mortal life the same way He departed - wrapped in a death shroud, lying on a stone bench, in a cave.
    2) The socially lowly shepards "watched their flocks by night" to verify which lambs were First Born. Thus, they could certify to the Temple Authorities which lambs were approved for sacrifice ... which was a Jewish custom in similitude of the Actual First Born Lamb Sacrifice done by Jesus Himself. The angel said to the shepards, "Follow me to certify the birth of the Actual First Born Lamb".

Why does gospels of Mathew and Luc have two different accounts of Jesus birth? Why would the magi worship a Jewish messiah and did king Herod historically order the death of Jewish babies? Also if the messiah would be the descent of David, that would be Joseph, but if Joseph isn't Jesus father wouldn't that cause a problem?

    • @jameswood231

Yes, the historical tyrannical Herod ordered all jewish males 2 and under to be destroyed in Bethlehem. Mary was also in the direct lineage of King David. Both writers of the Gospels were giving their narrative of the historical events as the HOLY SPIRIT guided their writings. The inspired WORD of GOD.

@@jean-paulmaillet4670 well, that’s problematic because outside of the Bible we have multiple accounts authenticating the death of the man Jesus, so that means that it’s very problematic for someone to say that one who died was never born. Is the historical existence of Jesus what you’re referring to? Or just the “ supernatural” status of his birth? Because that I would understand.

Lots of basic facts but no insights. For instance, it could be pointed out that the star couldn't have been a cosmological star since it was low enough to identify with some precision a dwelling place among homes and that it did not follow the constellations of the skies. It was a bright, guiding star that was stationary.

Utter Rubbish. Shepherds in general were NOT outcasts in 1st century Judea...many make that error because they read in Josephus that Pharisees descendants of Aaron would avoid shepherds, as they did also for lepers, but the reason that Pharisees serving in the Temple avoided shepherds was because when they served in the Temple they had to be clean with no aspects of decay, filth, death, blood or impurity on them so they avoided shepherds who were generally covered in dirt and filth (usually faeces from sheep and goats as they often slept with their flock) in case they were defiled/contaminated.
Note that the shepherds in Luke's account who were invited to the nativity were NOT ordinary shepherds but LEVITES ie members of the tribe of priests descended from Jacob's son Levi, that is why they were plural shepherds not a shepherd alone, based in what is now Shepherd's Field which was the field just outside Bethlehem where sacrificial lambs were born and sheep raised! To be a priest that actually lead the rituals in the Temple you had to be of patrilineal descendant of Aaron (Moses brother) and they had strict rules on not just how they behaved, what they wore and whom they married but who they could come into contact with. However not all Levites served as priests as not all Levites were descended from Aaron but instead these could support the priests eg do the second readings from the scriptures after the priest did the first reading, wash the priest during the ceremonies, sing and play musical instruments, and help with the slaughter of sacrifices and serve other roles such as temple guards (St Paul as Saul was one), money changers/ shepherds. Thus the angel invited these shepherds because their true high priest, the messiah of the order of Melchizedek, has arrived; and the first people to learn of the birth of an unblemished lamb that would be used to sacrifice for the atonement of sins was always these Levite shepherds!
In Matthew's account of the Nativity he writes as a Jew trying to convince the Jews that Jesus is the King of kings, the messiah, promised by the prophets. Thus his focus if on the Magi - the astrologer kings from the East (Persia) who with their gifts gave a clue to the life of Jesus: Incense was used to venerate that which is holy, Myrrh is used to embalm dead bodies, Gold is used to indicate that which is sacred and/or gifted as tribute to a King. Note tradition assumes 3 magi because of the number of gifts but the actual number, names and where they were from are not known!

Yes you are right that these ‘wise men’ came on camels from up to 1000 miles away so they did not arrive when Jesus was in the manger shortly after he was born as all the churches falsely teach.
Verse 11 in Matthew 2 shows that by the time they found Jesus he was a young child in a ‘house’.
It would’ve taken them many months to travel that distance probably from the area of Babylon or beyond
Who were these men? The Greek term is ‘majoi’ referring to people involved in magic, astrology, sorcery and other occult practices condemned in the Bible at Deuteronomy 18;10-12. Exactly the same Greek term is used at Acts 13; 6-8 referring clearly to the sorcerer, or false prophet Bar-Jesus who the Apostle Paul miraculously blinded after he tried to interfere with Paul’s ministry.
Interestingly where did this star lead these these men when they first arrived? To Jesus? No.
They were led to Jesus’ enemy King Herod who then planned to kill Jesus at his most vulnerable
    What does this tell us?
That this star was obviously not from God but from Gods greatest enemy Satan who immediately made plans through Herod ( a wicked king) to kill Jesus as a baby.
Yes the churches depict the star as from God as well as ‘the wise men’ but a closer examination shows clearly that this entire interpretation is false as well as the birthdate of Jesus which they teach as December 25th.

    • @eddesa5134

I guess you never read Luke's account of the nativity! Jesus was born in Bethlehem because his family had to register all citizens in Judea for the census in the town of their origin - Jesus was a descendant of David who was from Bethlehem and the tribe of Judah. We KNOW for a HISTORICAL FACT that Jesus was born on 25th December because the record of his birth was send to Rome to the records office, which were actually open for consultation! Around the main branches of the early universal (Catholicos) church ie Jerusalem, Rome, Alexandria they all celebrated 25th December because of Apostolic tradition - the apostles like John knew Mary and had asked her when Jesus was born. In the mid 4th Century the different regional churches under the Bishop of Antioch were celebrating Christmas at different times so to resolve the differences he wrote to the Pope and asked why they celebrate on 25th and could other dates be acceptable - the Pope wrote back and the sermon given by the Patriarch of Antioch is recorded that the Pope had consulted the Roman Records of the census brought back from Judea which proved the actual birth date was 25th December. There are also other independent historical documents from as early as the 202 AD that also prove this date!

@@josephbenjamin974 This is an extremely well-known proposition, and hardly warrants your CAPITAL LETTERS and triple exclamations marks!!! It is every bit a well-known as the vagaries which surround the year of Jesus's birth, which was not in the year 0 or 1, but rather sometime between 6 and 4 BC. (Yes, he was born four-to-six years before he is said to have been born.) None of which makes the slightest bit of difference to what he said and did. When he was born (date and year) is convenient ceremonial. By the way, did you know that the United Kingdom's Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April ... but in different parts of Australia her birthday is officially celebrated on the second Monday in June, or the first Monday in June, or the last Monday in October ... in Canada on the Monday before 25 May ... in the UK itself on the second Thursday in June ... on and on it goes. None of which makes one iota of difference to what she has said or done, or to the honour afforded her on these ceremonial dates.

    • @1stAmbientGrl
      @1stAmbientGrl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Pat Last Correct. The whole point of choosing Dec. 25th was to offer a substitution to the pagans in order to honor and glorify Christ, not to substitute Christ with paganism. It's unfortunate that some people have gotten the intent backwards. We don't know the actual date of our Lord's birth, but that doesn't mean we can't choose a day to celebrate it. If Christ has redeemed us, he has also redeemed our days. You can think of it this way: Jesus Christ has usurped pagan holidays. Personally, I think the darkest time of the year is an appropriate time to celebrate the arrival of the Light of the World, the One who triumphed over darkness. ☺

And they will use violence against Israel and transgression against Jacob, and much blood will be shed upon the earth, and there will be none to gather and none to bury. 24 In those days they will cry aloud, and call and pray that they may be saved from the hand of the sinners, the Gentiles; But none will be saved. 25 And the heads of the children will be white with grey hair, and a child of three weeks will appear old like a man of one hundred years, and their stature will be destroyed by tribulation and oppression. 26 And in those days the children will begin to study the laws, and to seek the commandments, and to return to the path of righteousness.
