nice perching humm yes them barred surf perch get much bigger.21/2 to 3 pound slabs common at surf beach lompoc .its now closed due to mpa but way back in the day the big ones wouled eat the 50 cent size or bigger rock crabs.. yes 3 pounders im sure the state record is out swimming around in lompoc
