Thank you for video. I'm from Africa. I'm trying to learn about how other cultures connect to their ancestors. So astonishingly similar to how we, in Africa, connect with our ancestors! We are worlds apart and yet we came to similar ends. FASCINATING! PLEASE CONTINUE TO UPLOAD. 👌👋

This is a great summary. My family practices Chinese folk religion which is a mix of ancestor veneration/worship, village clan beliefs and practices, animism, Confucianism, Daoism, Bhuddism, and more.

Since no one has pointed out yet, Budai was actually the incarnation of the future Buddha Maitreya, not Siddhartha Gautama.

Question: If Buddha was trying to attain moksha (breaking the cycle of rebirth), and as we know he did succeed. How does he even re-incarnate as buddha again?

He doesn't. Everyone of us has Buddha nature so the next buddha could be you

It is said that others have reached “Buddha-level” understanding or enlightenment. There is / was a real person named Siddhartha Goatama, and we know more about him than other Buddhas. His disciples kept teachings and stories alive after he died or finished his human, incarnate, life. Also, it is said that enlightened beings can choose to be “Bodisatnvas.” Totally able to be “done” to exit samsara, but choose to come back to teach and help others. The altruism & compassion to make this choice is amazing. Buddhists are taught about altruism, so it’s reasonable to ask yourself “wouldn’t all enlightened beings choose the role of Bodhisattva ?” I think about this a lot, and I have some hypotheses. I have not studied the sutras sufficiently enough to know if my hypotheses is congruent with cannon, though. You just reminded me that I must open a few books & study, Bro. Thank you 🙏📿

@@miahconnell23 well I know that much being a Hindu. What I really meant (in a sarcastic way) is that Buddha did not want himself to be treated like Gods and definitely didn't wanted to be worshipped. If detachment was the goal, his followers aren't doing exactly.

@@mowgli5837 my friend, I feel that you are correct. If you have any tips or tricks or advice regarding how to successfully explain misconceptions to people who hold a different region or philosophy, buddy, I could really use some help 😂🤣🙏📿 Example: I matched with a cute girl on tinder. We chatted enough to move our conversation to Instagram, and since we were both close to Boston, we came very close to meeting in real life !! (I’m divorced & a li’l bit older, so this would’ve been a REALLY big success for me !! No huge expectations, but a nice dinner out-&-about with her level of cute-ness alone would’ve elevated my happiness and boosted my self-esteem.) When she saw that my Instagram photos contained lots of colorful temple architecture, interesting ancient statues, incense, paper lanterns which I thought beautiful-certainly beautiful enough to photograph, she wrote: “I’m a Christian & I could never date some-one from another religion and plus ALL THAT STUFF COMES FROM THE DEVIL.” I tried to explain that I feel Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion, but nothing I said was going to change her mind about whatever untruths she was told. 🤷‍♀️
