Not tough solar. No sunrise Sunset times. No moon phases and rise and set times. No tide times. I looked at so many Protrek watches in last few days, not one Protrek has all these features. Casio seems more focused on overprices G-Shocks then actual making a great watch.

I agree.....their best pathfinder watch was PRG240 till date

@@nightfox263 I'm having the PRG-270 and it is such a wonderful watch. It was priced well and has been serving me flawlessly for over 5 years. The only gripe is that it doesn't come with a moon phase indicator. I'm waiting for a ABC Sensor watch with sunrise/sunset and moon phase as my next upgrade. Unfortunately the only watch to offer that was the GPR-B1000 which was $800 at the time of launch and has also been discontinued.

GPR-B1000 was great watch unless i came to know that in this price Garmin offering Delta Taxtics. Taxtics is great watch and still stand number 1 in all GPS watches. Try that watch if you have money.

It's a shame the connected app doesnt record the quad sensor data - that would have been somewhat useful.

Does the iPhone or the watch tell you the route afterwards?

This new Protrek, is this still solar battery operated? My guess is not anymore, as I read the specs it tells that it uses a Battery with lifespan of approx. 2 years only.

i think the same, however as an alpinist i am, the phone is not practical battery freezes with cold, water simply damage the phone, and some features depends on wifi or signal, most of the places where i travel there is no signal. i sell all my watches and buy this one is better to have it on the wirst is a great tool
