    Try to "Jackknife" your van and trailer to close the distance. You may not need a longer hose then.
    It's also a great method for accessing the back of the van with less impediment from your trailer, without having to disconnect it.
    Merry Christmas

    I saw the caddy and bought TWO....one for myself and one for my sister in New Jersey . I used a 20% coupon from NORTHERN TOOL here in Texas. The only drawbacks...my sister said it was too heavy to lift out of her SUV once the caddy is full without assistance. For myself, I find that if the caddy hose goes to a higher equipment tank, that the constant squeezing of the pump handle can get tiring. I do like it overall and have used mine for a back-up generator, mower and lawn equipment. Once, when I rented a small diesel excavator, I filled it up with diesel so I would not need to carry several smaller 5 gal jugs in my van which uses gasoline. Got the job done and refill it with whatever fuel I need for my motor home. Thanks J K By the way, tropical storm Imelda might get more folks to store extra fuel for emergency issues.

      Hey J K, thanks for the input! You're right about it being heavy when filled, because of that I just leave strapped in place.

      There is a way to add a tire valve to the vent cap and use a bicycle hand pump or electric pump to make the gas flow quickly. Also., most changed the hose to a better quality.

    Nice review. I ended up getting one a few days ago. My 90 year old father-in-law lives with us and for his age, he stays active. I have 3 acres that I have to mow and have a riding lawn mower. My father--in-law loves mowing (and it gets him out of the house and away from my mother-in-law who likes to fuss at him all the time). But, I would have to lift up one of those huge gas cans to fill up his riding lawn mower. And no way he could do it. I saw the Duramax and got one. Game changer for us. Father-in-law and fuel up whenever he wants and I just need to keep it filled.

    Can you use a battery fuel pump for fast and better flow

    • @GettinJunkDone

      I'm sure there is a way to rig something up like that. Might even be a way to use a power tool battery, or tap into the vehicles 12 volt system.

    Great video!! Being a yr old, how is tank, hose and handle holding up? Looking to buy a couple and use as fuel storage for my home generator. Thanks for any help

      Hey Ben, good question. I have through 2 nozzles and have since given up on them lasting in the sun. Now I just have the cut off hose with the original valve at the base of the tank. I use that to fill up a smaller can that I then pour into my equipment. Not as efficient, but it's still faster than going to the gas station every day.
      BTW, I'll be using your comment during my live stream this Sunday, Episode 37. Hope you can make it.

      If you are going to keep outside spray it down with armor all and the hoses to prevent sun rot and you can get these for 80 bucks with free shipping

    Is it DOT legal to carry that way ?

    • @petermoto409
      @petermoto409 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was thinking the same thing. I'd be REAL cautious about commercially carrying that can like that if DOT has a presence in your area. For a homeowner you probably won't get looked at.

    • @imaneighbor8132
      @imaneighbor8132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely NOT! DOT says you can’t carry more than 1 five gallon can!
