- The tribe of Dan (one of the twelve tribes of Israel) settle in the Mount Hermon and part of the Golan Heights.
In this area are located the ancient city of Tel Dan or Laish (where one fo the two golden calv were allocated to stop the Israelities living in the North kingdom to come to worship the temple in Jerusalem) and the ancient city of Paneas (Banias or Caesarea of Philippi) - where Petrus confessed that Jesus was the Messiah.
