Great to re-see these Dave, you are always a breath of fresh wholesome air to all of the confusion everywhere coming at us online. Please, please keep these going, and even out up the series. Whether on America, because we need to remember our real history, that's being attacked by so many uninformed. And the Holy land series. Thanks Cold Water for letting Dave out to play.

14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. GEN 14.: 14, you see that Dan was there well before Jacob's sons were named.(Dan of course as one of the 12) They were just taking back the city that was already there.(Lieash was Dan) Also the river Jordan was combined as the name is now. The 2 streams that converted to make it were the Jor and the Dan.

originally the tribe of Dan was located where Tel Aviv is now - but the Philistines pushed them northward - that's why the meaning of the word Philistines in Hebrew is invaders - where the name Palestine comes from.

Interesting how lush and green, near river, the settlement of Dan is. That type of environment seems to be tribe of Dan generational preference. What a contrast to the usual arid, thoroughly parched, minimal water general impression of much of the Holy Land. Dan always leaves a trail marking the tribe’s migrations around the world [as stated by Jacob Genesis 49 verses 1-27]. In Hebrew there are no vowels, so the name Dan is written DN, or its Hebrew equivalent. Therefore, words like Dan, Din, Don, Dun, Den, or Dn, correspond to the name of Dan. DANube, Den [dan] mark, SarDINia, DNieper, MaceDONia, DarDANelles, LonDON [use of vowel variations to identify settlements] act as settlements’ markers as Dan progressed around the world. JorDAN river identifies the tribe at the northernmost edge of the Kingdom. Names are highly significant in Holy Scripture, as are location markers.
The Canaanites figure large in the history of Dan, as do the Phoenicians. The tribe of Dan loves to sail, and were in relatively close proximity/partnership with the Phoenicians. The tragic fate of Samson is the direct result of his disobedience to our Creator. Rules are there for critical reasons, so as to do the least amount of damage to self and others on our journey thru life. If Samson, who moved out of strict obedience rules, hadn’t married the Philistine woman, there might not have been the trail of revenge and counter revenge [parents advising against marriage >the wife and Samson’s father in law are murdered by Philistines after Samson burned down their fields in a fit of rage and revenge> seems as if Samson’s first impulse is revenge]. Delilah was his complete downfall, who turned on him for 1100 silver coins, after siphoning his strength. Entire course of the tribe’s history might be different if he had listened, obeyed and been an example rather than object lesson for his tribe. And then, there was the golden calf, the other detours into idolatry away from the narrow path.
Jacob’s predictions and indications for the twelve tribes are highly relevant. Dan has a most interesting profound indication, and figures large in the End Times.
