Ive always been curious about DB tractors. Never had my hands on one. My cousins have one in their barn that was their grandfather's, I'm told it needs rebuilt. I'm not sure if it is an 880 or 885, but im current using an IH B-414, and i think the DB has more power and is easier on diesel fuel. I love the old british utility tractors.
@@matthewtaylor2185 the hydraulic system lets them down. If not maintained properly it causes all sorts of little problems and can be a little difficult to sort out.
@DBFan86 yeah, I've always heard letting them sit out in the rain was especially bad for a DB. Even condensation can louse things up. Hydraulic system is dependable on my IH, but it is a weak system as far as what it can run.
The gearstick rubber boots perish and water fills the backend. The gearbox and hydraulics share the same oil so once the water gets in, it causes issues with the hydraulic valves.
