I appreciate these kinds of videos the most. So many new things out there and even if our tastes don't line up perfectly it helps to weed out the stuff that's not even worth trying.
Wheel Horse Toasted barrel is available on their website ($42.99). I recently bought their Cigar Blend for $34.99 and the bottle disappeared pretty fast. It's a shame they only made 3,000 bottles of it.
I loved the 4 roses single barrels before when they were $38 in my area. My buddy found the same thing. The juice from the higher floors tasted better. So at $38 the gamble wasn't too much. Now at $50ish not so much. I'd rather the Four Roses Small Batch Select. More consistent and just has crushable. Maker's Mark Private Selections I stay away from now. Last couple I had were spicy, hot and too much variation. For $90 I'd rather the Maker's 46 CS and have money left over for other juice.
@@TheReal_DeanD I hear that… I will have to try the four roses select we have… don’t remember it being as good as the single barrels… but any excuse to drink them again I am in… lol
What do you fellas think of that Makers Mark 101 on the shelf behind you? Thinking about getting a bottle but had heard mix reviews. Thanks in advance! Cheers!
@@nschlueter13 I personally think it is excellent for the price… I believe we put it up against other 101 proofs and it won…in fact don’t think there has been a makers I didn’t like..
I've read all four roses rickhouses are a single floor probably 20 foot tall. Barrels are stacked on top of each other six barrels high. I can't see a top barrel aka -6 could be that much bettet than -1. Who knows?
@@DBTdad not sure… I know my buddy bought a 100 proof single barrel and we cracked it and put it up against mine I had…. And his was a higher tier… and although we thought mine was good origionally drinking it next to mine his was way better..

@@CN073 I agree … that is why we started doing it… also some bottles get better or worst… and it is always good to hear how or if they changed
Thanks for that
