She's clearly more mature than most of the other characters...which is part of the reason seeing her interact with others is so fun. She's an adult in a show of kids....but since she's healing over time, being around kids is the best possible thing for her. It's beautiful.

I think the main reason why everybody loves Lapis so much is because she's so relatable. I actually did not notice the first time that Lapis's baseball name is actually a callback to when Steven called her bob. Sometimes this show really surprises you with its attention to detail.
Fun fact about jen(lapis's VA), she actually first auditioned for amethyst but it was hard for her to keep up the voice so she went for lapis who was just her normal voice Which is probably why they made lapis pretend to be amethyst in 'the new crystal gems'
Same thing for peridots va Shelby rebera I think 🤔 that’s her name she auditioned for the role of garnet wich is why they had peridot pretend to be garnet in the episode
She is so relatable as I often feel like a child nobody thinks I'm mature like her, she clearly has PTSD from Jasper and her relationship with Peridot growing is just one reason I kept watching
I think the sweetest part of Lapis is that she doesn't immediately ask to be freed by Steven when he finds her in the mirror. She genuinely tries to befriend him, and even keep him safe by warning him about Mayor Dewey's mayormobile. For a gem that spent thousands of years trapped inside of a mirror with no sense of self *outside* of what the mirror saw (likely a lot of it being the inside of Pearl's gem, if she retained sentience in there - which is likely yes based on Steven also entering Pearl's gem), she approached Steven with a lot of kindness. It's only when Steven shows genuine interest in trying to help her that she explains to him how he can free her - up until then, she was just making Steven happy by mixing up things she'd seen him or others do to communicate. I think it plays a lot into why she's so friendly with Steven - because Steven was the only gem to treat her as another being rather than an object after thousands of years.

I think the main reason why everybody loves Lapis so much is because she's so relatable. She's not a full-blown adult like the other O.G Gems, she's not a mid-tier human child like Steven or Connie, but she's somewhere in the middle and has a really nihilistic humour that a lot of the kids watching vibe with hard

I actually did not notice the first time that Lapis's baseball name is actually a callback to when Steven called her bob. Sometimes this show really surprises you with its attention to detail.

Fun fact about jen(lapis's VA), she actually first auditioned for amethyst but it was hard for her to keep up the voice so she went for lapis who was just her normal voice
Which is probably why they made lapis pretend to be amethyst in 'the new crystal gems'

I think the sweetest part of Lapis is that she doesn't immediately ask to be freed by Steven when he finds her in the mirror. She genuinely tries to befriend him, and even keep him safe by warning him about Mayor Dewey's mayormobile. For a gem that spent thousands of years trapped inside of a mirror with no sense of self *outside* of what the mirror saw (likely a lot of it being the inside of Pearl's gem, if she retained sentience in there - which is likely yes based on Steven also entering Pearl's gem), she approached Steven with a lot of kindness. It's only when Steven shows genuine interest in trying to help her that she explains to him how he can free her - up until then, she was just making Steven happy by mixing up things she'd seen him or others do to communicate.
I think it plays a lot into why she's so friendly with Steven - because Steven was the only gem to treat her as another being rather than an object after thousands of years.
