Great story. Keeps you hooked and wanting to know what it's leading to. The fact that it ends up going back on itself is a nice touch too. It really goes to show how good storytelling only requires engaging characters and plotlines. Expensive special effects or massive action scenes are not necessary once you got that, which really goes to show that most of today's big flashy blockbusters are really stinky piles of garbage with very weak plots. If it weren't for those sfx and actions scenes, they would be nothing. So well done to all the people behind 'Incoming Call'. You nailed it.
Opening words in the clip immediately took my brain to this: "Here is a song I wrote ......" .... "You might want to learn it note for note" ..... "Don't worry. Be HAPPY!!"
Oh, I liked this one. Intriguing, dark, balanced with bits of comedic strangeness and ends with a solid message and a tear in my eye. I'll be sharing this today.
This really spoke to me. I have spent so much time looking back on my life and regretting some of my decisions. If I could change it, would I, should I? Maybe it’s time to let it go and stop punishing myself. Really appreciate this. Thank you.🙏
Sometimes it is your mistakes that define you - avoiding all risk, is indeed not living. An absolutely brilliant conceit, with wonderful execution and a compelling actress. Very well done. This one will stay with me for a bit ...
This short reminds me of the episode once and future duck. From the show duck man that came on in the mid 90s. Basically duck man kept getting visited by future renditions of himself. That would try to give him advice on a very positive outcome for his life. But for every positive outcome came with an equally disastrous outcome. It was basically an animated show for adult humor back then, But still holds up.
I've always wanted to tell my younger self to just shut up, stop thinking about it and just do it! I wish i had a phone like that that could reach all the say back to 1997
That accent same place I am from Northern Ireland I even recognised the taxi company phone number I used to work for nice to see something good coming out of NI. 👍👍😁😁
when you look back and see how decisions took a second without much thought and then led to weeks months and years of following a certain path - it is like Einsteins Spooky Entanglement theory - many of us live two three or maybe even more entirely different types of life on our journey through this landscape. I can remember 50 years ago like it was yesterday - and to the soul it was yesterday - but the people that were in that yesterday are all gone just as I myself am not the person who made the things happen that became the memory = dead or alive the people from the past are gone - and yet those that are alive have a memory too - but it most likely don't match up to yours. the writer had a concept in their brain, and they tried to project it = and did a good job but even for them it will only become more obvious of something they overlooked as they age and it is not for me or anyone else to point it out to them. this film was well done.
@@fozenoh I absolutely agree that is another possibility. One that's easier to imagine than multiple versions of a future self being created at every decision she makes. Either way, a good story with a solid life message. Btw -- for whatever reason your comment is not visible to me unless I click on your reply in my notifications. YT is getting more and more unpredictable by the day. Take care, just thought I'd let you know.
Great film noir. I'm certainly pleased that you made this film instead of taking that bloody stupid call... ____ In the U.S.of A. 🇺🇲 or what's left of it. _____
Open mike Announcer: "And first off, ladies and gentlemen, a funny young lady, my girlfriend, it's Kerri Keenan making her debut." No wonder she was so anxious about her performance. She wouldn't want to disappoint him, of all people. If her debut could have been at another open mike club where nobody knew her, she could have tested her confidence, stage presence and talents in front of strangers. If you fail, keep trying. Stage fright is a common affliction, as has been admitted by some seasoned, celebrity, Hollywood actors.
Yep. My oldest friend - we were 8 years old, now in our 70s - spent his whole life avoiding risks. He's going to die having never lived, congratulating himself on all the pitfalls he's dodged.
i think one or two of those outcomes were worth calling about. so i guess she has time powers based on regret, and the more regrets she takes the more likely the next one is to trigger?
The moral of the story is that your magical time travel phone messages will warn you about being kidnapped but screw it have fun in life??????????????????????????
Preemptively knowing what your future holds, it may ruin your lives journey and the surprises and excitement it contains ? On the other hand, the future me would be useful for helping me with earning money and living a long and safe life ?
6:35 NEVER grab the candy in the candy isle, Its fattening! Furthermore, she would have been better off being a single mom and receiving benefits from the government. And she wouldn't be soooo alone and would have someone to LOVE!! Unless she finally meets Mr. Right and has a few children at the end of this movie! No one has a crystal ball. We must go through life making mistakes because that's How We Learn!!
i get the intended moral of the story, but... the reason future her was calling was bc something bad DID happen. VERY BAD things happened, and she knew specifically how to avoid them. that's not fear of the future, that's literally good advice lmfao.
Sure, live your life, take risks, but still be smart about it and consider the world we live in today. And always remember, there were those who weren't sensibly cautious and paid for it. Use common sense.
The News Media always creates a suicidal mind set for me....The misanthropic killings in Israel ...... supposed to be God's chosen, acting so Americanized and Evil...
🟦…I'm a bit sketchy on one thing, Is it the phone that was deciding when to call her future-self or was the phone calling her future self and hanging up so her future self would call her back. The biggest clue for me was when (@4:15): She turned on her selfie camera & saw a future injury to her hand if she kept do'n what she was do'n, So I'm figuring that the phone is making the decision to connect them, and then when her future self said "Stop calling me",... that had my world in an uproar fer a bit.
Interesting. The story of a life not lived, avoided.
Fascinating concept.
Anxiety in a nutshell, beautiful.
Well done. We are our own worst critics, indeed. And hindsight is NEVER just 20-20!
Imagine being gaslighted by your future self, instead of getting the winning lotto numbers.
Now I know the meaning of, "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself." Thank you for this essay on life.

You should have prefaced this comment with "SPOILER ALERT". It kind of spoiled the ending for me.

how did you not want to know if she was gonna get to give her own callback
Good story with purpose. It kept me engaged. You have to make choices and take risks every day; it's part of how one grows as an individual.
Really, really good! I wish I had seen this 30 years ago.
Opening words in the clip immediately took my brain to this: "Here is a song I wrote ......" .... "You might want to learn it note for note" ..... "Don't worry. Be HAPPY!!"
This is me everyday. The phone calls are my thoughts…it’s SO tiring and I always feel like someone is out to get me.
Oh, I liked this one. Intriguing, dark, balanced with bits of comedic strangeness and ends with a solid message and a tear in my eye. I'll be sharing this today.
I like a happy ending ! Haven't we all been there ? The doubt, the fear, the stomach churning.
Brilliant deconstruction of the sci fi warning from the future theme! Congrats!

Very very deep. So well done… bravo!❤❤❤
Well done. Good story and well produced.
One of the best stories I've seen on here.
What a beautiful little film.
Oh yes, and that song my mind took me to in the first few seconds of the clip was SPOT ON to the message relayed at the end of the clip.
Great short, acting etc. were superb. Nice lesson attached to it. well done to everyone involved.

Brilliant! Such a good story
So, she's stuck in a time loop or does each version still have their separate reality?
I would say it's the latter. Where each call was from a different possible future her. .
@@LucasProgeny it could also just be all in her head and it's her overthinking/anxiety

Memorable sentence from Dory: Nothing should ever happen to him? But then nothing ever happens to him!
I don't know why but this got me deep in the feels. Really loved this. Better to live and regret than not living and regretting even more.
I love the odd content on this channel.
Agreed, except for the murdering of the pedestrian and then getting kidnapped at the bus stop... Maybe still take those calls.
