Thank for the inspiring reflection on Joseph the Tzadik from the beginning to the climax at the end.
You made me read again the section Gen 37-50. God revealed Joseph what He was going to do and blessed him. 39,2-5.21.23; 41,25.28 as we read in Amos 3,7; Daniel 2,28; Jes 48,15-16.
There were some things that the brothers didn't know: 42,23; 43,7.22; 44,4.15.
Joseph must have been a very sensitiv man. I found him 7 times weeping 42,24; 43,30; 45,2.15.15; 46,29 and 50,17-21 also as the brothers remembered his eyes 42,21 see also Amos 8,10.

Could you please provide a link to the article in Megadim magazine? Or at least tell us R. Medan's take on the question of Yosef not contacting his father?

Thank you for always sharing fascinating Torah insights. Since we are talking about what the people in the story know/don't know, why do we presume Yosef knew about the original hineni? Also, if he knew about it/the story of the akedah, then he would know it all worked out OK/everything WAS fine and that it was a vital part of Yitzchak becoming the person he was/continuing Avraham's line. I often wonder who/how many people actually knew about the akedah prior to the Torah being given to the Jewish people. I find the whole concept of the "cheirim" stopping people from talking about the sale...can we silence people about a crime by the people involved in the crime putting a cheirim on it??? How can that be?

A very interesting perspective. One criticism: the background music is way too loud and at times almost drowns out Rabbi Fohrman's voice, who tends to be soft spoken and a bit of a word swallower. On the other hand, it made me listen all the more attentively.

...A lot going on in Joseph's life.... I am sure he would be working his plans, to deal with his family...Maybe Pharaoh's and Joseph's intelligence agency, was working behind the scenes, to handle family issues, as best as possible.... Maybe not, but seems like men with this level of wealth and power, would not just let family go....Especially one's biological father....

Nice Explanation. But I really have a question? Why, why evrytime the jews of now a days has to keep saying that Joseph was a God fearing Jew? Why not Hebrew or Israelite? A god fearing Hebrew? Jew is explicitly referring to the descendants of Yahudah.
I think it is a conditional way to put a thought in other believers mind, with all respect.
    Shalom

I love the story Y'shua is throughout it.. Isa 53:3, he was rejected, his brothers rejected him... When Joseph interpreted the dreams he became the second under G-d, and they put on Egyptian clothing and gave him an Egyptian name and the brothers couldn't recognize him. Christianity has put gentle garb and given Y'shua a gentile name, and Jewish people do not recognize Him, Joseph the Jewish man is also giving a gentile bride 🤔. Mikets "At the end of" & we see our future in the past, & when all Y'srael sees Y'shua as Messiah, they will weep just as the brothers wept

Shalom David, but where is it that Joseph is a Jew? Joseph is an Hebrew whereas Yahudim came much later after Rehaboam. Yoseph was also Israel and today there are many of Ephraim (melo hagoyim) who are coming back to the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
