protip: just tap the threaded bolt attached to the tail light and keep pushing it through. Much less risk of damage using the flat head. Should use plastic trim remover tools, also reduces risks.

The polarity of the led is important, where you had to use the socket from the ofher bulb was likely had the vland connector needing to be flipped 180 degrees
When I saw splicing job actively cringed go to Harbor freight and buy a crimping set is like $12 it comes with the crimpers wire strippers and wire cutter it also comes with grommets cable ties and cable clamp along with a bunch of AWG items

I thought it was the connecter so I ordered a whole new harness and it was working at first but when I screwed everything back up and went and turned the car on again to see it wasn't working again.. im so annoyed

Hardest install looks to be just running wires everywhere and splicing which isn't too difficult. Saved yours specifically since you kinda go into more detail where you placed the resistor, since the other vids I had saved never really touched up on that. Now, just gotta decide between smoked or non smoked...

Already had a cop or two bug me about my rear plate lights being 'very blue' and my fake nagasaki plate I keep on the rear windshield as a decoration of sorts. Then again, that was around Austin the time those happened and I don't even drive anything special lol
Did you need resistors for the reverse lights? I have these installed on my Ralliart from the previous owner and my reverse lights stay on for 5 secs then turn off. Some research is saying I need to install resistors..... How true is that?
Did you have any water leaking issues from the trunk's direction to the outside lights? I own a Lancer which has pretty much the same body but they don't seem to fit perfectly on the body. I sense a little whole between the body and the taillights just right above and next to where the screws are.
@@TheSnyds Alright. However I saw when you took out the factory lights that it was water inside already. Am I right? :P so maybe some water do get in even with the factory lights. Also I saw that the socket had some water drops so I'm guessing its not a big thing

The Snyds sheesh. I just kept reinstalling straightening the wires up and eventually the turn signal worked but then the brake lights didn’t, but eventually got everything to work. Just wiggles the wires a lot lol thanks

For me when I put the car in reverse the lights turn on and the back up camera as well but after 5 secs they both turn off. Have you ran into this issue? Any suggestions?
I just installed the Vland taillights and yes the back up camera only turns on for 5 sec after it disappears, I installed a resistor and fixed the issue!

I am by no means an expert but those wires shouldve had any kind of plastic cover on them or at least just wrap electrical tape around them to prevent chafing on the frame. As well where they were spliced shouldve at the absolute minimum been soldered and shrink wrapped instead of just twisted together and taped. This is going in a moving vehicle which will jostle everything around quite a bit.
disgusting! having in the 21st century all possible insulating materials to use black duct tape ??? this is absurd, even if you used heat shrinkage, not to mention the normal twist of wires

@@TheSnyds Octane Blue Pearl. Part of me wants to go smoked but being cautious considering tinted tails aren't exactly legal in Texas.
Technically they arent tinted haha. You can clearly see the lights with no obstruction to view. I think thats what they really look for

Naa no leak issues here. But your correct we share the same body

Yea thats normal beacuse of the power the LEDs require. I believe a resistor helps with that

@@ralliartx1 The VLAND headlights almost always come with the resistors. Contact them if they didn't come with one
