- An International Plaza worker was leaving his shift over the weekend when he was attacked, beaten, and robbed. Detectives say they are searching for four men, seen in surveillance video, who are believed to be the suspects.

These guys were already on him before he even reacted, no chance to draw and he's up against 4 men. I carry, but honestly in this scenario I'd rather just give up my phone, wallet and a little pride than introduce a firearm into the mix. Odds are actually pretty good of a far worse ending if the victim had been armed.
We need to pass laws making group attacks automatic gang violence. Giving additional time to each individual on top of the assualt and battery charges.
You'd have to get prosecutors to actually charge them with the new crime. Then you'd have to get judges that would dole out the appropriate punishment. There are already PLENTY of laws on the books to address all this lawlessness that has been escalating, they just need to be used properly. It would also help if more law-abiding citizens would carry the tools needed to stop these threats. Maybe some of these thugs wouldn't make it in front of a judge then? Maybe the word would get out not to gamble their lives for a few bucks and a phone.

Red states should pass laws that focus on organized criminal activities like smash and grab. Whenever the perpetrators act as a group of people, they should get 10 years mandatory. This should deter group/gang activities.

I guess the dude that was robbed beat himself up as well, there is more than one source reporting on this and the police report states they took his money and cell phone and if you are smart you know that all you have to do is cut the phone off and it can't be tracked, remove the sim card and replace it and it can be used again, they probably have footage of the robbery in the parking lot but show the mall footage because it gives people a clear image of the men they are looking for and doesn't show the victim, I hope this answers your questions. P.S. I grew up poor but never robbed anyone for $, you may not get to choose who your parents are or where your born but once you're not a child it is up to you to choose what path you take.

As someone who has been a victim of violence growing up. It's things like this that fuel why I'm always so paranoid and looking over my shoulder. People wonder why I carry a gun.
