Thanks Dhami sahib for your great work. I am great grandson of Ch. Subay Khan Virk. He is truly a great legend of our family. Actually he is pioneer of our family because all credit goes to him. It was him who got education (He did his 10th grade in around 1905/1906) even he had to go to school on horseback for not less than two years. And because of that his whole family got an opportunity to study in better institutes.
Babar Nasrullah Khan has already elaborated about current situation of my family. But I need to add a little more. Ch. Subay Khan Virk had two sons, Ch. Bashir Ahmed Virk (my paternal grandfather) and Ch. Naseer Ahmed Virk (my maternal grandfather i.e., father of my mother). For your information in our religion (ISLAM) it is allowed for a man to get married with real uncle or auntie's daughter so both my maternal and paternal grandfathers were real brothers. Ch. Bashir Ahmed Virk was an inspector in Excise and Taxation department, Punjab and he passed away before retirement in 1966 and Ch. Naseer Ahmed Virk retired as Secretary Board of Revenue Punjab and he retired in 1970 and later served as Federal Secretary on contact basis for a year. He died in 1994. He had two sons 1. Col. (retd.) Arshad Virk (died in 2010) and Riaz Naseer Virk (Chartered Accountant) and based in London, UK since 1968.
I have always heard about this migration story from my elders and how my grandfather Ch. Bashir Ahmed Virk helped Hindu and Sikh families to safely depart my village and that he did on purpose to get reward from God in afterlife, otherwise I don't think he had other motive. There are other stories of him where he stood with truth and so did his father, who was Tehsildaar of Lahore in 1938 and caretaker of Pak Pattan Sharif's family in 1942 but did not make a single penny by unlawful means during his whole service, and also his brother Ch. Naseer Ahmed Virk who was in same profession as his father's and who retired with the same reputation as of his father.

Raashid Bashir Virk, I just spoke to Chacha Shahid Bashir Virk on phone and he also became emotional to hear his grandfather, father and uncle’s great role during the hard times of partition. Muhammad Nasrullah Khan spoke to Chacha Mahmood Bashir Virk (your father) also and told him about this video and he became emotional too. May God bless you and grant your ancestors high ranks in the paradise.

Chaudhry Soobay Khan Sb and his sons Chaudhry Basheer Ahmed Virk and Chaudhry Naseer Ahmed Virk are our relatives. Chaudhry Bashir Ahmed Virk has four sons 1) Chaudhry Masood Bashir Virk , he passed away few years ago and his sons are like brothers to me 2) Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Vilrk, former Federal Minister and the current Member of National Assembly M.N.A 3)Chaudhry Shahid Bashir Virk retired Commissioner 4) Chaudhry Zahid Bashir Virk Advocate. The next generation of Virk’s are also like brothers to me. They belong to a very noble family. God bless.

When Islam came to Punjab area majority of the Hindu Jats in Western Punjab converted to Islam and during the rise of Sikhism the remaining Hindu Jats adopted Sikhism.
