Running a 3 litre Ford 'Essex' V6 & Triple Weber carbs. It has a high lift cam & electronic ignition.
The rumour is this V6 may have been a Barry Seaton Motor out of one of his Ford Capri's raced in the 70's.
I've never seen one except on here, awesome old school cars 👍
Had a Scimitar GTE when I was 18, loved the sound of the Essex V6...was kinda rare in Qld also...that TVR is lovely.
Thank you for the very nice video! I have a TVR 2500M from 1974 in the exact same colour. At first I thought: What does my car make in this video... It is a left hand drive and based in Germany now and waiting for better weather... It is really an underestimated car which nearly nobody knows. Keep up the great work, its really appreciated

I'm a fan of this 3000M since 1979 when I saw it in a car magazine. Still don't dare to buy it.
The only TVR I've driven is a Tuscan. Scary...

@@chrisslater3174 there's another issue with old cars and emissions: I live in a big city... so, scared of the coming rules too...
Think the styling is very polarising, I love them but they are a bit challenging from certain angles. Definitely better in the flesh rather than pictures/video. I'm currently doing a Chevy LS one so am a bit biased! I've already got a Vixen with a 4.6 Rover fitted hence the LS. TVR never really used the RV8 on the pre Tasmin cars instead going for small block Ford V8s (Windsor). Keep up the enthusiasm!

A rarity in this country for sure (the English Corvette?). The Essex V6 is tried and true in motor racing, see the Setons Capri's and Moffat's RS3100 Cosworth version (group 4 European Touring car). They all sounded great and went like stink!

I own the lowest VIN# SPL311 1966 Datsun Roadster in existence. SPL311-00010. It is red. I am restoring it just enough to start driving it like I stole it. I noticed one in the beginning of the video.

@@GrassRootsGarage A rare beast Down-Under. I has a TVR S2 in the 90s. The 2.9 injected Ford V6 was a peach, the noise was beautiful but it leaked like a sieve. Not good in the rainy North of England when it's your daily driver. Always ran it with no carpets and the footwell drain plugs removed.
For people ITK. Which would you say is the better engine for these cars. The Ford V6 or the Triumph Straight 6?
