You can hike the streets on a series of "secret stairs", which are easily found on the internet. Have fun, but be careful of cars coming around the curves.
The one thing I've always noticed about Hollywood is the streets are so nasty looking, old and cracked up to say the least! With all the money Hollywood generates and with all the rich people who live around there, you'd think the roads would literally always be newly paved and ... with "gold" at that! Geez! It's dumpy looking throughout the "Hills" like the slums of Hollywood if anything. I personally wouldn't want to live there rich or poor. It's definitely not considered a beautiful place.
I would assume it's pretty hard to fix the roads in such a place. They're way too narrow and you can't reroute the traffic too well. Must be a logistical nightmare especially considering the type of residents who live there.
From an African perspective, thank you for this. We are tired of Bev Hills, Harlem, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn. We don't often get to see rural America. This video makes America seem more real.

I got as close as you can by driving. To get to the sign you have to park somewhere and hike. I don’t think you’re actually allowed to get close without trespassing.
@@exploreusacities oh thanks fo rthe advise, yea i would imagine its a long hike, i dont mind hiking as long as i know where i am going lol, i came LA 10 years ago on a tour bus, even they didnt take us as close lol
Yeah, a bus could never drive up there. Very narrow. Every 100 yards there were signs saying "NO ACCESS TO HOLLYWOOD SIGN!" If you notice they grew trees and hedges to block the view so that joyriders wouldn't do what I'm doing.

Has to be somewhere that is a good amount for rent out there outside of Hollywood like if it is let's say 2-3 hrs away i'm sure a small town has Apts for $500 or $600 a month for rent but Where? Someone that is struggling where i am now but, I need an escape and start living and California is it...
If you can find a single room in a house you might get to around $500 but you will have roommates. It will be somewhere in the San Fernando valley. Moving 3 hours away doesn't really help. You can rent a dump in Fresno for $1500 but I'd rather live in a dump in Hollywood for $2000

This is not rural America, The Northern half of the City of Los Angeles is over a mountain/ valley. Hollywood Hills is in the mountain.

There is no such thing as cheap and very nice in California. You can get a dumpy 1bdrm for 2k per month
