Any Toto fan who hasn't read "The Gospel According to Luke" by Steve Lukather, needs to do so ASAP. I've been a fan of Toto since the early 80's but that book made me appreciate them even more!!! He tells the story of how he got the very Les Paul he's playing on "Hold the Line" in this video. I remember when my older cousin was old enough to go to concerts and I wasn't, he would always come back and tell me about the experience. He saw bands like The Scorpions, Accept, ZZ Top, etc.... but when he came back from seeing Toto, he said it was the best concert he'd ever seen! Even has an adolescent, I knew that comment, in the context of what he normally liked and listened to, was a huge testament to the guys in Toto!
The best incarnation of this legendary band. Ever. The line 'We're getting older, and acting bolder' from All Us Boys were a prediction to the state of this band 43 years later..
I've seen more than 30 Toto concerts since this great night in 1979. Sweden, Norway, Las Vegas multiple times, and Atlantic City. This is still my favorite for sound quality, a small club of maybe 1200 fans, and a brand new band of superstars.
I mean, Holy Hell. This is just from another planet. The vocal range is unreal that Bobby is singing this hard live and hitting the notes like that. My face is numb. :) Example: 3:34. If most normal folks tried to hit those notes, their chords would snap.

But this is the best version of Toto yep, in 1979 raw, not polished, hungry and new. In 1990 yes, better technology wise with Jean MIchel Byron who bombed and less than 5 years before him was, Joe Williams and Fergie Fredericksen . It wasn't the same TOTO after Kimball left in 1983-84 so any comparisons are pointless.
Tedious? Bore off!!
🎉 i prefer the gritty TO TO, BY FAR!
Awesome... Who is the rhythm guitar player right of Luke?
This is jam🔥
Never knew that Hungate went 🎃n the road. Scary.
And they came out running as a Supergroup! Didn't make this concert, should have! I knew about it!
One of my favorites concerts. I’m not forcing to do anything, but I just want to know, there’s a Fahrenheit special from 1986, and there’s an annoying French overdub, I was wondering if since you did this you could remove that overdub. But it’s ok if you can’t.
I need another audio version without voice over to do the mix ... If you send me both links I will be happy to do it !
going to see them in a few weeks...whos still in the band? Steve and the main singer?
I hope you enjoy it. Really one of the greatest bands ever. The singer since 2010 is Joseph Williams, vocalist from farenheit and the seventh one works
Steve Lukather and sometimes David Paich
Somebody else..
Coke was pure in 79, fortunately
You are so disrespectful
Not wrong
Just because a band is enjoying themselves on stage doesn't mean drugs are always involved. Plus these guys are playing and singing so accurate, the only thing they're running on in this concert is ADRENALINE !!.
Who is the extra guitar player?
Incredible talent and this one minus Japanese but terrific sound quality 😮. Listen to the others.. they sound much better

Also the Sex Pistols were scheduled to play there right after San Francisco but they broke up in San Francisco. Tickets? $4
I would put this singer right up there with Brad Delp
