RIP Tore Ylwizaker :(
This is the stuff that influenced me to go in a different direction with my music. From Metal to Progressive Rock/ Alternative Ambient
+Dakota Harrington Same.
+Dakota Harrington
I came from Meshuggah -> Sunn o))) -> Sleep and All these great Bands
:D
WOW dude !!!! just like me !!!
metal->death/tech death/progressive metal->progressive rock/post rock->ambient
I started Listening to rap. Then moved to hard rock, then thrash metal, then alternative and post-grunge stuff, then classic and modern prog rock, prog metal. Then post-rock, Then blues rock, then Black Metal now listening Jazz. Ulver Fits almost in every genre
It's cool to see that 5 years later after posting there are people who share this same experience with me and makes me want to start a an experimental rock band with you all called "The Thread"
I saw this set at Volksbuehne, Berlin. It was the most immersive and long echoing experience of live music I have ever had.
can't believe how they have evolved since their first album, which is pure old-school black metal album
Yep, and I love it all :)
For me a band should always evolve. Ulver and Opeth that's why two of my favorite bands. Also Anathema
Much better than album version.
Breathtaking performance!
Ulver = The future sound of music
Just discovered Museo Rosenbach. Great stuff! I can't wait to hear more. Reminds me of old King Crimson.
Arcturus' The Sham Mirrors led me here. What an amazingly unique band! I'm blown away.
Most people hate the direction Ulver took after Nattens Madrigal. I think those people are lacking a sense for progression in art and cannot comprehend "art" in music for that matter.
*Cheers* -Messe I.X - VI.X is amazing.
I love everything Ulver did and will possibly love everything they'll do in the future. But saying people who don't like their newer stuff, especially after Nattens Madrigal are lacking some kind of sense is wrong. Might not just be theirs music.
Just not liking something ≠ lacking senses
Neurotripsicks I myself even prefer the stuff after Nattens Madrigal. Thousand times more inspiring to me than the Black Metal stuff. THIS right here, this is music on a high level!
So was Bergtatt... All comes down to personal preference
Very Kvlt music.
When he's not singing ... well, he's just staying on stage, and we like it.
Loki rocking the piano
The Best song of this álbum , but this álbum is amazing
I doubt Ulver will be changing their name to 'Pink Fjord' yet they perform well in operatic setting with these live magickal ambient sonic symphonic treatments and deliveries.
This is so good. This band has grown so much musically. I'm glad of it :)
I wish this kind of music were more main stream. Would be cool if at least one of my friends shared my music tastes :)
Portishead, Massive Attack, etc. This genre (Trip Hop) was popular mostly in the 90's.
the falling pitch at the beginning fetched away my socks. was zum teufel! as julian cope put it once: ulver are making the music we will be listening to in the middle of the 21st century!
Ulver es una banda impresionante!
Amazing video of one amazing concert!
Garm is Garm. He is a great bard. Only the form is changing.
I don't think there are many bands more versatile, imaginative and influential than those. Bergtatt is a bm classic, Kveldssanger started a new genre, PC and BI changed electronic music. As for Coil members, they heavily influenced industrial, glitch, idm, ambient techno, neofolk and drone genres. Thousands of various artists owe much to bands like Coil, Ulver and PF. If you say you know bands "FAR more imaginative and talented and far going" than these, you just don't know these enough.
WOW! THIS IS F*CKIN GOOD!
pink floyd, coil and ulver... three most tallented, far-going, imaginative, eclectic music art projects XX-XXI century humanity witnessed
Excellent!!!
Hey Pitchfork, look at all of that crappy Casio equipment they're using.
Hahahahaha! I get the reference
?
pure art
Just beautiful
a masterpiece of all times!! (anyway, i don't know how people were able to just sit there still without at least shaking their heads...)
¡MASTERPIECE!
So what exactly does Garm do live?
Wow this was a really interesting piece of music! Gotta check these guys out some more
I must see either this song, Tomorrow never knows, or The Future Sound of Music (which had Bard Faust Eithun on drums) live before I die.
Bloody hell that was amazing!
For me is the best album ulver:)
Who is the drummer? Great!!!
Grazie ragazzi.
There’s definitely some Coil influences
excellent
Awesome!
I'm planning to get the CD+DVD edition, does anybody know if the cd audio quality is as good as the DVD one? Because I listened to a preview and it sure wasn't, I hope it's just the player that was used.
❤
Amazing to hear this live and it would be awesome to see a 20th anni concert for the album. Only gripe I have is that drummer is like a bull in a china shop. Chiiiiil bro.
terrible take
Great! 🤘🏻

@TheLastDays7 No hard to believe at all. Ulver is Ulver and they will always be at the dark side in one way or another.
Lots of people ask me why I don't listen to italian music scene. I simply answer: "Eeeh"
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
This is fucking immense.. thankyou..
Sounds like the soundtrack to a John Carpenter film.
Music from the breathing
Ulver should do a 007 theme!
Of course, friend 😆
"Dices «Iré a otra tierra, hacia otro mar
a las mismas calles. Y en los mismos suburbios llegará tu vejez;
en la misma casa encanecerás.
Pues la ciudad siempre es la misma. Otra no busques
-no hay-,
ni caminos ni barco para ti.
La vida que aquí perdiste
la has destruido en toda la tierra."
+Cristian Moreno Gracias por la traducción
Reminds me of SWANS. More operatic, less visceral.
Que paaaaa
where the fuck is that bluray?
Es demencial
I giganti, terra in bocca. Alphataurus, Il Museo Rosenbach, i New Trolls...etc..
You cant's seriously, it seems, understand what i mean. I mention Pink Floyd with Coil and Ulver just because they were explorers, discoverers, creators of very deep psychedelic and psychic voyage, no matter what style differences they had. I've heard alot of music, and i've grown with Pink Floyd, than came Coil, then came Ulver. Different epochs - and style differences, about which you are talking about, are nonsense - real music don't have style boundaries
And King Crimson as well.
Navidson is sinking
We'll you're missing on a lot of great stuff. Rock Progresivo Italiano (especially from 71 to 73) is one of the greatest music scenes in history.
Normalnie mam kisiel w gaciach jak to widzę *_*
The music is so perfect. I just wish the video didn't keep cutting to spinning drawings of random shit.
so impressive.
:)
uy
Fucking wow.
Ethereal.
Deeply inspired by the likes of Ulver and Judas Iscariot, check out my new teaser video for 'Dark Visions' on my channel!
No.
well, then ist not way overrated... just a little bit overrated
I don't like the drums in this live version.
Épouse-moi. :p
Coquin :o
pink floyd is WAY overrated
No they aren't. They are all excellent musician's and creative. Saying Pink Floyd is overrated is like saying water is overrated.
excellent
