This was one of the first polymer clay videos I watched when I was interested in getting “serious” with it at about 13. I’ve sculpted off and on and changed focus and materials since then, but today I had the idea to make an octopus and wanted to look up some videos for inspiration. I found your channel once again, 5 years later, and am so impressed by your work and that you’ve kept with it all these years! Thank you for making beautiful things out of clay etc :) keep it up
Same here! I absolutely love sculpting miniatures and especially food themed ones, all because of your videos
Love your use of legos as support LOL!!
Yeah 😂
Using the legos to help stabilize it is a good idea!
You really deserve a big like!
+Nada Ihsan thank you so much! :)
Yes
+Daniel Boilard I can't seem to reply to your comment, but as these questions might pop into other's heads here you go :
1.What did you use for apple seeds?
brown polymer clay
2. How long do you bake them? What temperature?
this depends on the brand you use, so check what the manufactuer says
3. Do you bake them on top of the cotton?
yes
4. What did you use for the apple stem?
plastic coated beading wire
5. What kind of paint did you use?
acrylic paints (liquid ones, not the creamy ones)
6. What kind of chalk?
dry artist pastels
same here but no direction whatsoever
what ??
Stephanie Kilgast // PetitPlat why does the music sound like i'm listening to a murder mystery show soundtrack.
Love it
How to make polymer clay plz share us
I make little boxes and houses out of popsicle sticks and the Lego thing to keep them straight is such a great idea! I always have such a hard time keeping my pieces straight and I think that just solved my problem
legos are great in many ways! I've seen people use them as mold base as well.
You are so talented I love you so much

Hello these are amazing , I'm new to doing miniatures. When do you bake them is it before adding the colour or after ? What did you use for the stalk of the apples ☺️
Awesome 👏
I am from Brazil. And I Love your videos
I just subscribed to your channel. So excited about your videos!
Beautiful and amazing to watch! But I confess, watching you use a knife at such speeds is a little nerve-wracking ;)
You are so awesome
What is in the box you put the apples in before colouring?
Thank you for making tutorials now!
You're the best!
Hi Stephanie from Australia! I was just wondering, at what stage do you do the baking? Is it after shaping them all? Then do the pastels and paint after the bake? Varnished used?
u r so creative

this sooooo real😄😄😄😄😄
thank you!
so CUTE!!
Yup
Perfect to feed to your tiny horse.
I see you used popsicle sticks for the boards of the crate, but what did you cut those bigger pieces from? It looked like a big sheet of thin wood.
+StarlitSunset yes indeed, you can get that kind of wood in craft stores or at dollhouse miniature fairs. Never buy balsa wood and take a hard wood.
I noticed a lot of artist use the dry art pastels which is kinda like a chalk. How do you keep it from smearing? Do you "dust" them then bake it?
sorry I ask a lot of question no one really ever answers me back.
+Desere Chambers yes, you brush the pastel on the uncured clay and then you bake it. It is enough to hold the pastel on the clay unless you touch it a lot, in that case I just add a layer of liquid clay (after the first baking) and bake again.
Another option is to varnish.
great..beautiful..please what do you use for the stems in the apples
I used wire
@@stephanie.kilgast oh super vielen Dank ..Thank you
عمل رائع وجميل
I really love the tutorial, the apples look super realistic!
I have two questions though. I can't seem to find a straight answer (different people have different opinions) but do you use the pastels to color before or after baking? If before, do the pastels come off after baking? And the other thing, did you use any sort of varnish or top coat after painting with acrylics?
You can use dry pastels before and after. Before it easily sticks to the clay and once baked holds well enough. If you plan to touch it frequently, you need to fix it with varnish or liquid clay.
For the apples, yes I used some varnish, but I don't always use some at the end, always depends what effect I'm going for or for what I need it.
Do you use the dry pastels before or after baking the apples?
Before. After I use acrylic paint.
Thank you!
Stephanie what brand of clay do you use? Is it oven bake or air dry?
now I use all clays, but on this old video it was polymer clay
😍😍😍👏👏👏👏💕💕💕💕
you desrve a big big big.....like

E ps come hai fatto a fare la mela a meta' fantastica
Great job, but couldn't you have made the crate out of clay?
there's really no point in making ta wooden crate out of clay, it's longer to do, and it will look less good than wood.
