- Hi everyone! Here's my Tutorial Video on how to create Miniature Polymer Clay Oranges - Dollhouse Food.
First I'll be showing you how to create the Orange Cane (with the rounded orange segments). Then I will show you how to texture the oranges.

The type of Polymer Clay I use in this video is Fimo Clay. Baking times vary depending on the brand of clay used - please refer to the instructions on your clay packets.
This Fimo Clay was baked at 110°C/230F.

MIXING THE CLAY COLOURS:
○ Orange Segment Colour: Mix a small amount of Tangerine + Sunflower Yellow (makes up around 10% of the colour, then 90% translucent white).
○ White Colour: For the white I mixed 50/50 White Translucent Clay + White Clay.
○ Orange Skin Colour: I mixed 60% Tangerine 20% Sunflower Yellow and 20% White Translucent.
○ Green on top of the orange: For the green I mixed Tropical Green with a tiny bit of black (to change the colour slightly) then added white until it became a pale dark green.

This is the first clay tutorial video I've ever watched and I was pretty confused at first when the clay was huge but then I was mind blown at the end at how tiny and precise is all became!! Super awesome!!
Exact same process for making a stick of rock with words of the place brought all the way through!
Roll the whole oranges across sandpaper before baking to give a perfect orange skin texture.
Even though you need a lot of clay, I bet it's worth it making these minis!
