All my Buddies Sounding Amazing!!! David Sanborn - Alto Sax Don Alias - Percussion (RIH) Ricky Peterson - Keys Dean Brown - Guitar Rocky Bryant - Drums Richard Patterson - Bass (Chitown!!!)
Louisville, KY, a man named Ira, a hall FULL of MUSax 'worshippers' and ME laying in the aisle after a long drive. 'HOW to Save a LIFE. MINE. THANK YOU!
Richard Patterson, this Fender is YOUR BASS man... the same Fender with Miles Davis on The La Villete in 1991. I have a sunburst fender American Vintage 75 (AWESOME) because you. Great bass player
Sweet smooth jazz, swinging, dancing, moving. I feel transported to another place when I hear music like that, a very special good feeling place. Thank you.
DS is an original...........he has many imitators (or those he has influenced) but no equals.....though hard as they might try (Adair, Koz, et el) they may reproduce his sound but not his chops. When Michael Brecker was asked who he admired as a modern day sax player he said DS, without hesitation. This video does not do justice to Sanborns jazz chops.......so listen to others videos of his concerts and see if you don't agree with me.
I agree, but love to disagree as well.. I would say more like influence.. in my opinion I do not think *Abair or Koz imitate The Great Sanborn... they have their own sound... obviously there might be some hits or licks here and there especially from Abair, but I do not think they imitate him... maybe warren hill a little lol but its ok though, nothing wrong with that...I say if you will imitate, imitate the best..
Wish the buds who played beside him woulda dressed up a little... Instead they look like boys in the basement. Don't know that I can trust in their expertise with the way they look.
th-cam.com/video/oKhWXajoGh8/w-d-xo.html ... here he had it going on ... he had PASSION then ... he's not clean and showing his real skills now ... passion gone
He was one of the coolest, baddest sax players on the planet. RIP David.
Dean Brown passed too...last year, from cancer
RIP DAVID. A true legend. 🙏🏽🌹💕
A live concert with some of the best musicians ever who have passed away. This type of talent is very rare!!
Rest in Paradise David. The music world lost another legend. F$#K Cancer. :(
If you were into Jazz this was Da Man!! R I P David😢
I have had the pleasure of seeing and meeting this most wonderful person, genius does not do justice to his talent and beauty
So good that David allows the guitar to do his thing! Incredible sounding .I love the slow tempo. Very smooth and sultry.
I have been a fan since I was 24.My favorite
Sanborn Song is without a doubt MAPUTO.Hopefully he is playing that SAX in HEAVEN.

Louisville, KY, a man named Ira, a hall FULL of MUSax 'worshippers' and ME laying in the aisle after a long drive. 'HOW to Save a LIFE. MINE. THANK YOU!
The musically indefatigable David Sanborn is a genre eclectic soul man of no little class.❤😂🎉😮😅
Dean Brown on Guitar?
Yep.
Yes suh!
Sanborn one of the jazz giants with his original soulful sound of incredible music. Prof. Jay C.
Wonderful!
Dave could be like everyone else and play the same solos over and over........and most folks would never notice-ahhaha hes an improv GOD !!!!
Je suis sacofonist alto saxophone 🎷🎷🎷 je suis content que le maître David m'a appris le bon son c'est juste magnifique merci beaucoup 💛💙
The intensity and musicality that Dean Brown opens his solo -- a gem!

I thought that was him. Was excited when I saw him
Woo,that's the good stuff.
Fantastic.
Wonderful groove!
Love myself some David Sanborn Utah
So cold not to tell the one dude that y’all were going to wear all black.
Yeah, I wonder if they forgot to tell him.
Lol!!!
He may have known.
Now that's the good stuff ✌
There is just no other way this Song should be played . EVER
Richard Patterson, this Fender is YOUR BASS man... the same Fender with Miles Davis on The La Villete in 1991. I have a sunburst fender American Vintage 75 (AWESOME) because you. Great bass player

Not a bad note was to be found ... ever !
That is some sick playing
Yes that's right 😍
I would like to have heard David Sanborn play this concert using the new Dickerson Resonator Ligature - a lig and resonator
I like the energy of the original.
Bang Bang!
R.I.P. David Sandborn. 🙏😥
If I were to critiek...... It would be the guitar sound. But I'm not..... So f me days this version is insane
Very Cool
How is this tone even possible?
RIP David. You will be missed. Say hello to Bobby Cardwell.
I remember this !
O M G ❤️
Oh man that's smooth
Nice and Spooky
Sounds good the David sanborn show at Newport jazz
Really tight!
Really cooking sounds
A staple on WNUA 98.5 Chicago “Smooth Jazz” station.
Dean Brown.
This song was made for the sax. DAMN!
I believe ( and I reserve the right to be wrong )"this dude" was at woodstock o.g.b.g. ( original before grunge ) point being he's experienced "dude".
Yes the original from the 60s was a saxophone instrumental! 🎷
You are not wrong
Fabulous soundtrack
It was Meco Monardo in 1979 who bring this Song to me. Nothing spooky about it. 🤪🎼💭🔈👍
Yes I think it's was the performance at the montreux festival around the same time 🎼🎼🎼🎼❤️
RIP David you were always a class act, I played Chicago Song till the record wore out...
大人の色気のあるサウンドで痺れるわ😀
This is a amazingly gooooooooood.
Thanks for getting dressed for the gig Dean.
Dean marches to a different drummer. 😅
Can he play?
R.I.P David
RIP Mr. Brown and Mr. Sanborn
That is an OLD E Alto Saxaphone? Probably a Selmer mark VI?
heard a hint of "people make the world go round" at the intro, then hear Sanborn give a little at 3:26

Sanborn is HEAVILY influenced by Hank Crawford. I like David but the inspiration for his tone is pretty obvious.
I have a feeling the percussion mic wasnt a bit too low. Listen to 1:12 and 1:36
More cowbell!
A ver si nos vamos enterando.
Esta música se toca asi.
We've come a long way......count the keyboards.
Or notice which keyboards count...
pra mim é o melhor
Anybody know if that's Don Alias on percussion?
That fall @5:53 is nasty as hell
MUSIC
Is that Don Alias on percussion?
Yes
@@ezequieldethier5626 Thank you.
Band cooks a nice stew...
um dia eu chego lá já estou 70%...
Boa sorte Paulo.... é um caminho árduo e espero que vença.
obrigado cara concerteza é difícil e espinhoso mais eu chego lá se Deus quiser
Is that Fred Flintstone on guitar?
Ricky no usa teclados rojos.
Swingazo.
This ist 25 years ago.
Who is the guy on drums?
1:36 the sound quality is good but the solos are too choppy 4:41
don't do that. don't do that it. ah ah. I told you not to do that.
The band is great but the guitar man put up an show uauuu
6:05
Unique and the e
Who dressed the guitar player? Definitely not his mom...
Yellow shirt, blue guitar body with a red headstock.. Big fun!
@@idontmindatall You got that right. And dude can play.
Dean Brown is very intense!
Can't do that guitar
Barry Bailey si e' rivoltato....😒
This particular groove requires a faster tempo than Sanborn gives it.
Wrong
Tempo of the studio-version is the same. David Sanborn might know, what he wants. 😉
@@funklover24 The ARS tempo is faster, I assume that's what the composer intended.
@@rjlchristieOf course David Sanborn is free to choose his own tempo for his version. And of course you are free to like it or not. 😉
No it doesn’t… who the hell are you to suggest such a thing?
Yawn, boring, yawn, boring! Oh, and DRY as a bone! Your guitar player has a little digital delay going on and he is NOT dry and boring!
Gear isn't as important as proficiency, and never will be, no matter how much better it gets. If you're bored, that's on you.
Wish the buds who played beside him woulda dressed up a little... Instead they look like boys in the basement. Don't know that I can trust in their expertise with the way they look.
They are playing great, so what? 😂
They sound really good and together.
What a weirdo
David has lost his spark ... the band has their groove on but David is struggling ... something in his heart not there ... elsewhere!
th-cam.com/video/oKhWXajoGh8/w-d-xo.html ... here he had it going on ... he had PASSION then ... he's not clean and showing his real skills now ... passion gone
th-cam.com/video/4Krk6u4IqWw/w-d-xo.html ok yes studio ... BUT HEAR HIS PASSION ... hear him HITTING those notes and SUSTAINING the ENERGY!!!
Wow! So noone, even of the highest calibre, is safe from criticism!
It qualified to criticize him
