This song helped me get out of the gutter in 1987 when I was ripping and running in the streets of "brick city" NWK . The lyrics are spot on and the music holds your attention so you can listen to the lyrics. Thank you Randy and the crusaders for helping me turn my life around.....
Saw them in 2004. It was the last concert my wife attended before she started chemotherapy. I had always wanted to see them, it was a wish come true. Not all wishes come true and not all prayers are answered the way you them to be. She passed away and so every time I hear this song, I think of that night and that life. !980, 20 years old sitting in a theater in Baton Rouge Louisiana to watch Sharkey's Machine! It was the first Surround Sound Theater I'd ever been to. Movie was great but when this song rang out from every direction I was held captive. Had listened to The Crusaders before this but this song rang through my mind and found a resting place in my memories! So sad the direction music has gone in the days since! I would say talent but that doesn't do any good for describing these artists. They were born to do this!

a tear runs down my face when she comes out of the intro and starts to sing the verse, what a great voice, that at first withheld energy, that emotion, what a performance, can it be so good, oh man yes. what a super groove.
I've lost my driver's license in order to be able to watch this concert that day (trying to escape the traffic jam at Lausanne's highway, driving backwards on the security lane). As I was used to the original sound of "Sticks Hooper" on my dad's LP's, I was a bit disappointed by the "young drummer" filling in many open spaces in the fills and breaks, etc... Time has passed, and today I appreciate simply having been able to live all of this (such as Claude Nobs' delightful English accent...) ;-)

I've lost my driver's license in order to be able to watch this concert that day (trying to escape the traffic jam at Lausanne's highway, driving backwards on the security lane).
As I was used to the original sound of "Sticks Hooper" on my dad's LP's, I was a bit disappointed by the "young drummer" filling in many open spaces in the fills and breaks, etc... Time has passed, and today I appreciate simply having been able to live all of this (such as Claude Nobs' delightful English accent...) ;-)
