I recommend taking off the fill plug first, then drain the oil. If you drain first, then somehow can't get the fill plug off, you've still got a usable transmission until you can get the fill plug off.

Your supposed to open the fill plug first, to let air in also if you can't manage to open it. You never want to open the drain first, because if you do and can't get the fill plug open well.... yeah that being said, just consider that.
I have a Corolla 2009 and it was not going to second fourth and sixth gear so I had the parts changed in the gearbox (33332) but its still hard to shift to second gear…what could be still the problem
The amount it is hard to tell but you should fill it all the way until starts pouring from the same hole you putting the oil. So basically fill it up until it reaches the exit. Also your car needs to be level.
@@MayoCarsDR thanks Alot, i pour 2 liter, Because when i put it Start coming out After 2 liters but my other Gear box Shop guy siad that Fill 3 liters total So i will go to him tomorrow to fill 1 liter more in it and complete 3 liters . i have 2012 Corolla 1.3 CC Engine from Pakistan
You must not deviate downwards from the power categories recommended by the gear manufacturer (e.g. you must not use GL4 instead of API GL5), you can deviate upwards, but it does not make sense.
@@balazskaposi2617 that is not airways correct. All gl5 is not downward compatible in all applications. While a lot of the early soft metal stripping has changed with new formulations. The gl5 so has too much EP in it for some applications specifically gearboxes or chaincase applications. A toyota mt calling for gl4 will not function with gl5 and can damage synchros. Do not automatically assume these gl5 or even gl4/5 fluids are all downward compatible in all applications. They're not.

I rounded off the fill plug on my transmission, any suggestions on how to get it removed without drilling it? I’ve tried penetrating fluid and heat.

They make sockets with sharp teeth in a reverse pattern that dig into metal to help remove rounded bolts.

Red Line MT-LV 70W-75 GL-4. GL-4 is critical. Don't use GL-5. GL-5 will ruin the synchronizers.
