C'mon bring the MARTA to Cobb and Gwinnett counties!
Cobb county and Gwinnett county voters and taxpayers have to vote to expand and pass 1% sale for MARTA to expand in Cobb and Gwinnett. Fulton County, Dekalb county, and Clayton County taxpayers pay for MARTA's construction, operation, and etc. Inaddition to fare collection, the MARTA budget is funded by a 1%sale tax in Fulton county,Dekalb county, and Clayton County and limited federal money. MARTA was formed by an act of the Georgia General Assembly in 1965. MARTA has never received any operational funding from the state of georgia. MARTA is the 8th largest rapid transit system in the United States by ridership (64,306,800 total in 2023)
build new heavy rail
As I heard someone say “extend the rail lines to the Battery, ya cowards” 🚊 100% agree with ya, build new heavy rail!!!
Atlanta has the population of Berlin and isnt much less dense, they could and should build a system like the s bahn
In order for Marta to expand into Cobb county and Gwinnett county voters and taxpayers have to vote and pass the 1 cent sale tax just like the taxpayers in Fulton and Dekalb taxpayers have been paying since MARTA inception on 1971 and Clayton county taxpayers since 2014
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LET'S GO MARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Atlanta MARTA TRANSIT is the 8th largest rapid transit system in the United States by ridership 64,306,800 total in 2023
As of today, Marta doesn't cover all of the Atlanta metropolitan region areas of combined statistical population of 7,200,000 people. In the near future, the surrounding suburban counties that have voted not to join or be a part of the Atlanta principle public transport operator MARTA, all will vote to join/be a part.
