@@StanislavBabunts Because cheating in Bullet is much harder to do than other Chess time formats. Hikaru has thousands of filmed bullet games to show he's at the absolute top level without question and WITHOUT cheating. Kramnik makes no sense saying Hikaru is a cheater. It's like saying Magnus is. Laughable.

    • @MistaOppritunity

Kramnik has accused many high level players of cheating. The fact of the matter is that he is unwilling to admit that he has gotten worse in his age, which is something that chess players have historically done. Their cognitive ability drops off. Magnus even said before hand when speaking on him, that Kramnik believes that he is just as good as current top level players in spite of clear evidence that he is not. If anything, it's to be expected that he thinks Hikaru is cheating. He can't do what Hikaru does, and to him that's clear evidence of cheating because Kramnik is the best thing since sliced bread in Kramniks own mind.

Anyone even slightly familiar with mathematical statistics will tell you that you can't just pull out 55 wins between two losses and say that here it is - one hundred percent. There is an important rule of thumb: probabilities only occur when iterations tend to iterate to infinity. So just individual segments taken out of context is data fraud. The correct thing to do would be to look at not 55 games, but, say, 100, and at a random, rather than purposely selected segment, and see the result.

I have watched videos from Daniel Naroditsky where he was able to draw against cheaters , and he did that streaming on his Speedrun videos. So drawing against a cheater who used a chess engine in that game is possible because at some point they can get very low on time that won't be able to follow a computer line and therefore blunders can appear

I believe I have this figured out, just opinion but a speculate:
apparently Hanns got together with Kramnik and got along swimmingly.
As likely as not, Kramnik might be trying to equalize the suspicion against those involved in the Hanns scandal.
I'd guess Hanns is quite amused and if I'm right, they'd be having fun with all "accusing the accuser"

Odds of Hikaru winning, showing it's not improbable:
For the five incidents/events that Kramnik mentions about Nakamura, here are the probabilities for success by Hikaru are:
    386 points (91.2%) for 45.5/46 - 7.85% (and for a perfect score it's 1.44%)
    424 points (93.1%) for 34.5/35 - P(X ≥ 34): 0.29431683 (29.4%) and for a perfect score (35/35) it's 8.19%
    599 points (98.2%) for 55/55 -- P(X ≥ 55): 0.36824073 (36.82% probable for getting a perfect score)

  • @jgray2718

The table with Hikaru's recent results is a perfect example of Kramnik's ability with statistics. If Kramnik is trying to make a reasonable, defensible point about Hikaru's play he needs to show all the data, not cherry pick long streaks. If he wants to have a table of streaks, he also needs to show losing streaks. When Hikaru gets cooked by that Turkish 12 year old his rating looks terrible. When he goes 4 - 3 against a 2400, what's his rating over that stretch? Kramnik doesn't say, and this is why Kramnik can't be trusted: he's specifically showing only the data that support his hypothesis. In statistics we call that "cherry picking", or "introducing deliberate bias", or more colloquially "lying your ass off".
More importantly, what is the probability of a 3300 ELO player playing like a 3600 ELO player for a few hours? I have no idea, but I'm guessing it's reasonably high. Everybody's play varies from match to match, which is why ELO only works in the long term. It doesn't make any sense to calculate someone's ELO over a short period of time because the whole point of ELO is to be an estimate of skill derived from many match results. It's a long-term, serially derived measure, taking into account all the data so "calculating" someone's ELO over a short period of time or a few matches literally doesn't work; that's not how that model is intended to be used so the results you get can't be trusted.

I posted a MATLAB explaining this on Kramniks post, multiply every game probability together, then multiply it by 4000 (across 4000 games this year) divide by the problem set (46 games) and you’ve got a percentage, it comes out to 5.62 percent total, if you multiply by 55000 games in his career, it jumps to 85%, on the flip side him losing every game came out to something like 6.3x10^-39 power. So yeah I think Hikaru’s got a chance to go 45-46

If an 3300 player winning over 2950 rated player probability is 89.5%, which is likely as per elo difference statistics, in a 1000 game series, a 45 times consecutive win happening has a 58% chance. This means it is more likely to happen in a 1000 game series than not. Kramnik has no idea about statistics.
