    Grin deserves a lot of good press for the IP they've contributed to the online micro mobility community. Thanks.

    • @r1nusV
      @r1nusV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed Grin deserves more press attention to get more companies inspired to provide people with a lot of mico mobility solutions. It is more than and I quote "To get cleanly from A to b just for fun". Because that can also be said by the car industry that heavily promoting the car as a fun thing to get from a to b. This micro mobility is the solutions to get less cars on the road and get a normal efficienty weight ratio when moving people/stuff. (Example: car: 80kg person/1500kg car, electrified bike: 80kg/30kg bike.
      ...And doing this while having real fun.

      Agreed. There's a reason that 7 out of 10 car commercials show the vehicle racing around and climbing over rocks.@@r1nusV

    Justin the guy in the video, has been doing ebikes on the internet for a very very long time, one of the founders of diy ebikes supplies on the internet. Initially there was hardly anything to buy till the chinese took up producing ebikes, and everything changed.
    Justin of course is using chinese suppliers like everyone else, but he has also developed many different things of his own volition. His electronics and physics knowledge is really top notch, the motor simulator he developed is on his website ( grin technologies), the cycle analyst also his brainchild going way way back and a highly developed piece of electronics. He has done much in battery technology also and designed and producing his own hub motor.
    This is all without trying to get investors and backers from the outside.
    Its a bit of a shame fully charged didn't really know who they were interviewing, there was a distinct lack of research for the interview, I guess thats the nature of being 'reporters'.
    Justin has truly done the hard yards for a very long time, I'm guessing he will do this till he cant do it anymore, he really deserves about 10 gold medals at least, oh he saved the endless-sphere forum from disappearing too......the list goes on and on

    Grin Technologies is so cool i got an electric bike kit from them in 2009 cant remember the wattage of the motor. the battery was a 14ah 36v i no longer use it i gave the bike it to my dad.
    i had it because i could keep the bike behind the sofa. i live in a towerblock. so it was easy to grab the bike go out the door down the elivator and out.
    my other ride was a motorcycle. that i kept in the garage. that took a lot more time to get out and get ready to use.
    like i would have to put on the biker gear. (boots, jacket ,trouers.) walk to the garage, unlock the door. unlock the bike. take the bike out lock the door up again. was a lot more hassle so i only used the motorbike for longer trips.
    i could carry more cargo on the electric bike too. as i had panniers on the back and the frount 56l between the back two and 32 between the frount. was good for food shop.
    i nolonger ride at all as i got hit by a texting driver in 2015 while stationary at a roundabout. now im a full time wheelchair user. i have a powerchair for long days out. and i have 2 manuel chairs. i do with the electric one was a little faster to make it safer crossing roads.

Joy and play are sorely lacking in much of our present endeavors in technological sophistication and we'll just end up replicating new problems (that are old problems with a new coat of paint on) unless that spirit is driving our curiosity and desire to change. I know there is plenty of it out there, it just doesn't have seed money.
