      2 days ago I took my car for an oil change, and Infiniti wanted to charge me $795 to replace the 2 heater hose plus another one on the other side of the rear of engine with the connector and all clamps, calling it preventive maintenance. I said all the hoses look great, why would I spend that much money when all the car needs is 1 connector and 2 clamps? I will be doing the exact thing in the video myself.

    Thanks for your video...I'm looking to do the heater hose coupling replacement as I can see signs of coolant leaking. If I were to do this, how much coolant will I lose from the heater hose area and should I have a drain pan underneath?

    • @CRTFD_G
      @CRTFD_G  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You lose a decent amount. It will most likely need to be rebleed as air will be introduced to system. Pan would help to catch the old coolant. But I would plan to new and rebleed the system

    Is there any way you could make a video of hot to drain and replace coolant on 3.7L Q.
    I happened to have 2016 QX50 AWD (same engine) and while i have no problem doing brakes, tranny fluid, differential fluid and the rest. The only thing that scares me is replacing coolant on this engine and at the same time cant see to find any complex of how to?

    • @CRTFD_G
      @CRTFD_G  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. If you can drain your trans/diff fluid, a coolant flush will be walk in the park. There is a screw at the bottom of the radiator to drain it all or you can just remove the lower hose from radiator on driver side.

    I need to do this exact same thing on my 2015 Q50. The metal connector you have "Dorman 56430", on their website it says STEEL material. Is it coated or galvanized steel? Will there be any rust problems? Also, are the hose OD and ID diameters exactly the same as the OEM plastic connector (especially the outside diameter)?
    For the air bleeding in your coolant flush, placing a funnel where the radiator cap goes and idling the car and also revving at 2000 RPM, is that how you bleed out all the air? If so, about how long should you be doing the funnel bleeding?
