    Quite possibly the most underrated rhythm section in rock and roll. Love them!

    RIP Bruce Gary, so ridiculously under rated, it’s a crime...he’s destroying it on this great clip...incidentally this is my favorite Knack song..as a 17 year old HS Senior in 79-80, this song I could definitely relate to...like most of the songs on Get The Knack...still love it!!

    I was 12 when this album came out (now almost 55). Always loved it, still do -- and bollocks to them that don't.

    First time I've heard these Carnegie Hall renditions, to me, it just goes to prove that Mike Chapman didn't have to go too far out of his way to produce the Knack; the sound was there right in the room, from the get go. This sounds so close to the album version, it's scary, but it's not like they're expending any extra effort. This was how The Knack sounded. Tight, mean, and lean.

      One of best live bands I've ever seen.

      Exactly. These guys never got credit for the talent they all had as players. Supremely talented musicians.

    • @thiscorrosion900
      @thiscorrosion900 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pauldack5129 For sure. Same bad luck with the band Shoes, they put out great album after album and got dicked over by their own label which makes no sense, given it was Elektra. How could the label that signed The Cars not see how to market and cultivate Shoes? Maybe though The Knack suffered the backlash from their own cleverness. I dunno. The second Knack album never got marketed properly, and was almost ignored. A shame.

    I had no idea what tremendous musicians these guys were back when I was listeing to them, just figured it all studio production. I guess all they did in the studio was press the record button and let them play....

    One of the great bands of the the late 70's and early 80's. They still sound as fresh and current today if you like good old fashioned Rock and Roll.

      Know from the (highly recommended) Getting The Knack documentary that Doug spoke of being mesmerized by this girl who was a roadie for a band and would lug the heavy equipment, called her beautiful, and I mean beautiful girl,....she inspired my favorite Knack song!..Great tune!

    The best thing about this song is they actually pronounce Tara the correct way instead of the usual American mispronounciation Tera.
